Scientists from Trask Lab found key of transformation in Mystique DNA. Other things they could just develop themselves including powers like we saw in the movie

Agreed. That alone was almost enough to ruin the movie for me. Luckily the end was there to finish the movie off.

That's more or less what I said.
Besides, why else would Rogue be in an OR? By then, Trask would have gone through a lot of mutants. She would've just been in a camp, collared and with other mutants, otherwise.

Sentinals were disappointing. For one I was looking forward to Colossus and Wolverine tearing apart a few Sentinals before the super Nimrod-like sentinal showing up and taking the x-men out. Obviously that didn't happen at all. I didn't mind the future sentinals but i would have liked there to have only been ONE of them. They were way too overpowered! Sentinals needed way more screen time, the movie itself needed to spend way more time in the future. And for the sake of god why did Wolverine not even touch a sentinal!

We'll get some more with the extended cut but not much more new mutants unless they re-insert some of there lines (though I can see why they cut Logans farewell)

Wolverine had probably fought his fair share of the future Sentinels off screen but Wolverine in the past was pretty much useless against the Sentinels without his adamantium claws which made me chuckle.

I preferred the 70s iteration to the future. I just like seeing some of the classic looks or elements at least somewhat with the 70s version.

Not to say the future version were lame or anything, they were total beasts in there scenes.

I think the Sentinels as a whole were made from years and years of research about mutants. Mystique genes though accelerated the program for them though since she could shape shift and these Sentinels could shape shift and quickly transform into other material although the transformation is the key. Now of course the other materials that these sentinels could transform too were due to the other mutants they had under experimentation (Emma, Rogue..etc), since Mystique herself can't duplicate powers.

If I may expand on this by way of a little mental gymnastics, here's my take on the Sentinels of the future.

- In DoFP, we learn that Trask and other scientists have been experimenting on mutants prior to 1973. Why? Well, for one reason, they were looking to improve upon their Sentinel prototype. If Trask's machines could learn to adapt to powers exhibited by mutants, it would naturally make them less vulnerable to their attacks.

- Early on, Trask hits a stumbling block: on account of his Sentinels being composed of inanimate material, they lack the ability to properly interface with biological human tissue. As such, he becomes obsessed in learning how to make them techno-organic. Only then, can the power of his mutant test subjects be properly harnessed.

- Trask discovers Mystique in 1973; she possesses the unique ability to rearrange her own molecular structure. More importantly, whatever form she takes on is not limited to organic material; she can alter the appearance and physical makeup of clothing, shoes, metal claws, and more. In seeking to bring his Sentinels "to life", Trask realizes that Mystique is the key; upon becoming techno-organic beings similar to that of the Phalanx and Technarchy, they could then tap into the power of other mutants, such as Rogue. Their evolved state -- the Super-Adaptoid -- can thus be attributed to both Mystique and Rogue, in addition to other mutants previously experimented on.

- In the original timeline, Trask is killed before he can get his hands on Mystique. One can infer that he left behind comprehensive instructions for his like-minded colleagues to follow.

I don't remember if the movie hints that he was trying replicate this aspect before he came across mystique. Unless you were talking about the timeline that created by Logan's interference?

No, it's pure speculation on my part. Lately, I've been reflecting on Mystique's role in the creation of the Super-Adaptoid Sentinels -- specifically why she was considered more important than Rogue -- and that's what I came up with. It's all in fun.

After watching the Rogue Cut I think it's implied in Iceman's conversation with Xavier that the ability to turn mutant powers against mutants is a more recent enhancement. Which was developed by experimenting on Rogue.

Mystique was more important because the Mark X was still created by studying her DNA and they're killing machines just their standard abilities. The goal was to stop their creation.

I could see a group of scientists being able to replicate mutant abilities, such as Rogue's, by experimenting with clones, animals or other living organisms -- but not machines. That's why I came up with a little "fan-fiction" to expand upon Mystique's importance in the creation of the Sentinels of the future. We know that she is able to take on many different forms, including inorganic material, right? Well -- I'm stretching here -- but I like to imagine that her unique genetics played an additional role in the evolution of the Sentinels, by enabling them to become techno-organic. Yes they are, if you watch Rogue cut one of the sentinels is hidden inside a wall and that reminded me of the Phanlanx. I am pretty sure Mystique can do the same if she wanted too, she took the form of a statue of liberty replica in x1.
