Just for everyone's sanity I wouldn't bank your hopes up that they will change that much in the 2000s, not including mark X
You've said that already. Now it just gives off the impression that you're hammering your opinion into peoples' heads. Let us think what we want to think until there is direct proof that those will be the only Sentinel models we see. Like I said, if it doesn't happen, oh well. Until then there is room for speculation.
well i'm trying to open you guys minds to the idea that they probably wont look that different rather then be disappointed, because so far there is no proof there will be a different looking model, that alone is wishful thinking speculation
i mean yeah sure there might be different looking ones, but from the look of that website i have my doubts, a modern day looking website only showing designs of 70s sentinels... i mean the websites really clever so i don't see what there is to hide, apart from the idea that there are hidden badass looking sentinels singer is hiding
i mean fine we will wait and see, but i'm starting to thinking ain't hiding anything
The Sentinels here look a lot like what Singer wanted for X2.

I vaguely remember they were able to compact into discs? That would be neat.

I just want to point out that most robots in real life have the exposed wires look. I don't think Sentinels or Transformers with the "blocky" look would translate as well on screen because it would just look "wrong". Meaning that while it is definitely possible to have a robot with everything encased, I think the reason they're not is for overheating problems and making it more difficult to maintain/fix without having to take plates of armor off first.
Also, that Sentinel, as others pointed out, is clearly not exactly the way it will look in the movie. This is 2013, special effects exist people.
I can't imagine any overheating problems would or could be an issue for a sentinel. Otherwise Pyro and other heat related mutants are going to be a big problem. I'm thinking it will be more related to how they fly.
I'm guessing that, and/or also kind of a directional thrust or stabilizer like the second rotor on a helicopter.Haha, seems so obvious. I don't know how I didn't think of that. Yeah, probably less weight to fly more believably.
I really love this design. Also, for those saying it should look more threatening - I don't really think they should look threatening at all. These are machines designed to make people feel secure and safe, why would they be made to look like monsters to everyone when they're supposed to make people feel safe? The threatening factor should come from knowing what they can do. It's like seeing the monster within the machine and that's what makes them scary. Looking at it - awe and splendor and a feeling of comfort. That thing looking to kill you - you don't want to be anywhere near it.
This was me, checking out this thread:

If there are multiple Sentinel models in the movie, then I'm sure there will be more "intimating" models, this is just one.
they have only shown us one sort of sentinel, comic con and the website, and the viral video on the site seems to be modern talking about 50 years and they have the same sorta sentinel shown in the background on the beach shot
i think people are getting above themselves here
in 2020 they worked out how to combined mutant DNA with a sentinel i wouldnt be surprised if that was the art work you can see on the site

That's a big IF, just saying.

The site specifically states that as Mark 1, and Mark X will be released in 2020.
