That is one part I liked. Jor-El is saying, with a family (which Superman now has), he is living through his son..because Jor-El wasn't able to watch his son grow, because the planet was destroyed and they sent him to Earth. That is what the quote means. Living through someone elses eyes. etc.

that's what I said. am I right?

the father becomes the son , son becomes the father, i think it's a ying yang concept , humanoid/kryptionian at oneness . i think Jason will understand more of what it is to have mortal blood . i didn't see the superman returns movie (i want to .) (i cheated i read the cut to the chase quick spoiler) i've seen all 4 SMM tho .

on a sidenote: the death & rebirth of superman comics were mint classics. :supes:

Kill the son so that he does not become the father.

I don't want to smell a Superboy movie, or him as a sub-plot again.

I think that is what Lois tells whispers to him & before that Lex practically told Superman during the confrontation about a son inheriting his fathers traits & all that stuff
This whole Jason angle doesn't make sense to me. I just re-watched Superman 2 and Clark and Lois slept together, thus the point when Jason was concieved. At the end of the movie, Clark kisses Lois and erases all the memories she had of him being Superman (which was still obvious in Returns), and by the looks of it, all the time they spent together of such. If this movie is soppse to follow Superman 2, how the hell does Lois know that Superman is the father of Jason? Her memory of their intimate encounter was erased. The whispering scene does not make sense if you factor this into the movie. She should have been confused by her son throwing the piano, based on the fact that she does not remember having sex with Supes...

Great scene and timeless quote! That's why it's my sig now!
