Reading these WM24 ME ideas really reminds me of how much they messed up by not just having Cena vs Orton. i hate the multi man matches for a Mania ME and at this point i really don't see them doing Orton vs Hardy no matter what, the heat went out of that feud when Orton beat him in the center of the ring at the Rumble.

The only way i see Jeff getting in is if they totally surprise us and do Cena vs Hardy but at the moment the only match that seems likely that i'd want them to go with is Cena vs HHH.

i do agree that hardy needs more build up to get back into the main event, but i must admit the reason i wouldn't mind a multi man match is simply the factor that the ending is up in the air rather then one a blind mind could call a mile off

- Mike Johnson reports that Abyss will be off of TV for a while to play up the current storyline that he may be done. He is then scheduled to return in a few months unmasked and will most likely wrestle under his real name.

I never understood the desire to unmask masked wrestlers in the big organizations. Those masks make them stand out, it's part of their characters persona, it adds to them, take it away and they get a cheap 2 week pop and heat and then it kills their career a bit. Tho it is Russo, and it's been obvious since the second he took over that he was turning Abyss into Kane 2.

I guess it just feels anticlimatic to me. Take Kane, the big red machine, freaky eyes staring at you thru a mask. Gets unmasked...and un wigged...and he's just a big bald guy, hasn't been quite the same since IMO. In fact sometimes he comes off more comical when acting evil than he does feeling even remotely threatening. Kane hasn't done too bad tho. Same with Rey Mysterio, gets unmasked in WCW and turns out he looks like a 7 year old, no offense to Rey but it really made me like his char less. Abyss wrestles without the mask, and he's just going to be another big guy. Rey however was the exception tho as he got his gimmick back successfully.

I disagree.....I cant speak for wrestling outside of the US, but masks seem a bit passe at this point.

Flippin right I did. 2/3 of the only reasons I even watch SD in the same ring :D

Hahahaha.

On another note, I picked up HBK's Heartbreak & Triumph DVD. The main feature was really good. Haven't combed through all of the matches, but watched three: Rockers vs Brainbusters, HBK/HHH from the final RAW of 2003, and the Bulldog/HBK from KOTR 96.

But unmasking an established masked guy really kills the character. Especially if said masked guy is able to get over. In the US, if a masked guy can get over, then you probably shouldn't have him unmasked and "Demonstered" unless his name is Mick Foley.

In the case of Kane i think the hope was that he could go from being just the big red mute that filled in all over to be a genuine monster heel champ like Vader, but it didn't work out. With Rey it would be nuts, the reason he sells so much merch with the kids is he's like a superhero for them, take his mask a away and he loses his persona and all those mask sales and built in logo shirts.

Anyone think ECW should run a Kofi/Shelton program ?

Abyss was cool for a minute and is now just a grunting guy in a leather mask....that whole program with Sting and Mitchell de-balled him IMO...might as well lose the mask

Maybe, but no one will care....black superstar vs. black superstar feuds rarely work....

I was thinking they could build it around the fact both are incredible athletes.

I was talking about the audience....Ideally it would probably be a great feud, but the crowd wont be into it...most of the crowd doesnt take Shelton seriously and Kofi is too new

I think he still could have put on a crappy performance even with Chavo, Punk, and Taker in the ring

of all the male archetypes that are in pro-wrestling....there isnt a Bro-Dude....The Miz is the closest to that

Shelton seems to finally want to do well, because even I am starting to enjoy him. He seems to be working real matches now.

It could work, but Kofi might be a bit green still, so he should do some stuff with a Finlay type veteran first.

i can see your point, i just watched Shelton's match with Kane from last week and i thought he looked the best and most focused he has in ages and so far Kofi is hitting clean with his spots. I wonder what vet they could use with Kofi, some work with Chavo might be of use.

BTW I also saw last weeks SD six man tag, anyone think after Mania a Finlay/MVP feud could be gold ?

Regarding Rey Mysterio's apparent biceps injury, it is being said that the muscle rolled up the arm, which would be a full tear. Mysterio is looking to avoid surgery at all costs because he doesn't want to miss WrestleMania. No word yet on what will happen with his title match with Edge at No Way Out tomorrow night.

Late last year, Andrew "Test" Martin wrote on his MySpace page that he was planning on retiring from the wrestling business after his wrestling tour of Europe this March. Martin has since changed his mind as he is now accepting bookings for indy shows, personal appearances, and fan conventions. If anyone is interested in Test's services, e-mail David Herro at [email protected] for more information.

Test put up a new blog on his MySpace talking about Thursday's Northern Illinois University shooting incident. Test wrote, "So I see on the news another American decided to shoot up a University campus. Don't get me wrong I have a lot of American friends but I will as a Canadian never understand your fascination with having a gun. Do you think it adds inches to your ####? I think it makes you a #####, anyone who needs a gun is a coward..try putting your fists up and let's see what happens. maybe that's why this country is so messed up." He also added, "Your precious America..the super power ranks number 56th on the list for health care right behind Lithuania..by the way Canada is 2nd. I wouldn't even know where to get a gun in Canada but here it's on every corner...Guns are for #####, you point a gun at me you better be sure to pull the trigger because I will break your neck with my no hands..."

Right now the rumored Wrestlemania 24 card looks like Randy Orton vs. HHH vs. John Cena, Finlay vs Vince McMahon, Edge vs. Undertaker, Ric Flair vs. Batista, MVP vs. Matt Hardy, Money in the Bank, JBL vs. Chris Jericho and Jeff Hardy vs. Shawn Michaels.

What....the.....f**k ?
