Good stuff! I'm actually bringing my mom to see this one. She's only seen parts of the other movies, but she loves Hugh and practically wanted to adopt him after Les Miserables, so I'm getting less worried that she's going to hate this. :oldrazz:

Where was this?

I read about it months before the June release of MOS. It might've been just a screening for the WB execs. I think it mentioned something to the effect of the execs put so much money in the movie that they were so happy (they shed tears) that it turned out good.

Edit: danoyse, this was for MOS.

Reviews are embargoed until 7/25

I know every movie is different but this can't be a good sign can it? The movie comes out the day after. Holding back the reviews that late has never worked out well. Ok, lowering my expectations. :csad:

Yeah the late embargo certainly was the first red flag that MOS wasn't going to be as good as expected. I have faith in TW though, if only because people are going to go in with low expectations, and come out pleasantly surprised.

The embargo for Wolverine has a very distinct and specific purpose. It's not in place because of the quality of the movie. They might lift it next week depending on if certain things leak online from fan screenings.

Good to hear. Is the specific purpose something you are able to tell us? Hmm...does it have something to do with SDCC. I would imagine since the movie comes out the week after, that they CAN have a screening of the film in San Diego and watch the film hyped to high heavens.

My guess was Comic-Con. If the movie is this good, I can't imagine them wanting to keep a lid on that.

Perhaps it's actually what the film ties into for the future that's keeping the embargo. Things they want to announce and show properly at ComicCon to blow everyone away. Mangold could be playing into a much larger universe despite saying he's not, pulling a 'Michael Bay' and his famous "mis-information" campaign.

I'm guessing the embargo may be to hide an after credits sequence?

Im thinking more than just that. We have no idea the intention of the antagonists, or any idea on a possible endgame in the film. That alone can lead to multiple roads and possibilities, especially since

There's a set interview with Famke wearing a red wig at the set that we know Wolverine fights SS

Man the anticipation is killing me...I just wanna know how Famke was in her scenes, aside from Hugh. :p

I'm dying to know what her role will be for that scene.

I'm finding myself looking for any info about the film on the interwebs, every time I've sat down in front of the comp and I'm not even a big Wolverine fan. Man, I need a life :oldrazz:

Just imagine how I will be for DOFP next year...

Shed a tear from how good it was?!

Good Lord. That's some hilarious pre-release hyperbole there.

I shed a tear after Man of Steel too, when I realized I wasted 70 bucks on 4 Imax tickets to that mess...

I cannot imagine Wolverine being half as bad as MoS was...At the very least, Wolverine won't be responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians...

I don't think reviews are embargoed until the 25th since The UK premiere is July 16 and NY is July 23 - wouldn't they come out before that?

Premiere doesn't mean the the movie is released. The premiere is the first "public" showing. Doesn't affect media.

Even with Avengers reviews were embargoed until two weeks after the massive Facebook fan screenings.

You must be having a lot of fun with this aren't you hahaha...

Also for the record,mi do remember the report on wb execs shedding a tear over man of steel. It was reported long before it came out. Same thing with TDKR I believe, lol.

See! I'm not taking crazy pills :)

Actually I hate it. I want to tell people what I really think of the movie because the advertising is way off.

It's called Grade-A Bull**it

Anyone who has ever met an actual studio executive would know those are completely fabricated "reports" to get hits and give fanboys something to talk about. Not every blog or website gives a damn about credibility.

Oh I totally believe it. I thought it was silly. But I'm just saying I do remember that particular tear shedding report lmao.

I'm glad you feel that way though, and not just jerking us around. For all we know someone in your position would just randomly make things up and give out false hope, much like the tear shedding execs lol. But i can see your pretty humble and I appreciate it.

I have no allegiances to characters or companies. I don't give anything a pass just because I want it to be good. Green Lantern saw to that. Every movie I watch starts at zero and has to earn its way up the latter. At this point in my career I don't know any other way to be. Probably why I don't get along with 90% of genre fans

LOL!

Have there been anymore reactions to the movie, Twitter or otherwise? This is probably the hardest it's ever been to determine if a comic book film is great or absolute garbage.

I don't think its hard to believe that this will turn out a decent film or possibly the best superhero film of the year. This is coming from the guy who directed Walk the Line and 3:10 to Yuma and I even enjoyed Knight and Day.

He also wrote/directed Girl Interrupted and Copland

I'm embarrassed I didn't give him the benefit of the doubt

I just watched cop land last night, it's the only mangold film I haven't seen, man that was intense! One of Stallones best non-rocky movies for sure. The stuff mangold gets out of his actors is just fantastic.

I've always loved 310 and Kate & Leopold is a true guilty pleasure. Girl interrupted I've seen and loved years ago. I've seen most of knight and day though I didn't have much interest in it.

But 310 and Copland are my favorites of his so far. Good stuff.
