@FatBuddhaYoga not back yet, we are leaving on the wolverine press tour tonight for 3 weeks! Going to b
e so hectic. But will be fun too

Honestly I'd blame it on the film makers not knowing how to handle wolverine. As I mentioned above he was portrayed far too timid. You can portray Logan in a pg-13 movie properly. Singer handled him perfectly, but at that point the movies were still evolving, x2 was more violent and singers x3 I'm sure would have been an even more violent wolverine. Ratner and crew took it completely backward and made wolverine a leader, then it rubbed off on origins, where he did NOTHING to prove he was a killer, and was just pointless slashing of ladders etc lol.

Wolvy was honestly on the right track, and I think this movie will put him back on that track singer started. Opening him up to a more serious tone. Yes The Nolan batman movies pushed the rating due to the dark tone, and that does fit wolverine. Outliving everyone you love and having to deal with it is a dark story, so it comes with the territory of wolverine through the comics. He's a very dark character indeed.

way to remind me of slashing ladders
jk
but yes I do agree Wolverine is a very dark character, and this movie seems to get the tone and vibe of it right. but like i said it doesn't fill his killer/warrior side of his character. Also about him being timid, yes they made look like he has a Batman code or something where when he is about to slice someone is claws retract and he punches...

Extended Train Fight Scene

i dunno why but i didn't find that exciting, the way wolverine and the goons were looking ahead like oh crap we best jump here just seemed silly and the whole raging wolverine jumping fowards as the train moves was pehaps more an ambitious idea then it was exciting

Yea that's where Origins truly screwed up. Not dead pool, or bad cgi, or cheap looking gravity defying cartwheel-in mid air-floating-gambit'. it didn't capture Logan the way he was meant to be in that weapon x storyline. It put such a damper on who this character is and how he acts in x1 and x2. In x1 and 2 it makes perfect sense, he's finding himself and he's now in a school filled with kids etc, but he still unleashes the fury and goes off to do his own thing in those films, even though he is an x-man. But that's where x3 and origins missed the mark with Logan big time. Instead of fleshing out his character they leave it in the hands of this movie to do so pretty much.

I think this movie will deal with him being a warrior, and killer, or address what he has done. maybe provide flashbacks or something quick to fill in some gaps of origins. i doubt it but i feel we will learn about that side of him way more than what origins accomplished. It's a real shame, because if origins was what it was suppose to be, then really, nobody would have these doubts. Origins would have been the story to have the most violence and rage out of them all, thus setting the standard he was trying to live with the rest of his life through x1-3.

Ohh well.

yup they deeply undermined Weapon X that is Wolverine. He is a force to be reckoned with and was reduced to being just a guy who escapes to avenge his girlfriend's murderer. I mean that is not a bad story if done well, but the most important thing is that he was an experiment that had huge repercussions in his life. I was so pumped after X1 and X2 to see the traumatic and life changing event he had with Weapon X only to be dissolved in Origins. Wolverine is not just about seeing his loved ones pass away, but he was used and done a lot of bad **** in his past.
Even though I don't know much about his adventures in japan in comics, i hope they don't ruin it like they did with origins.

Yea, like we've been saying at least we have the dang video game to kinda fullfill that untold gap in the movie. Thank god something truly great came out of it. In fact I'm replaying that this month, I need to beat it on hard and get a platinum trophy on ps3.

And yes x2 handled it Better then the entirety of origins, honestly I just wish they would have left it at that and never did an origins flick. Waste of time, money and it just complicates things.

Hell man of steel was more violent than origins, so I think what they can do with pg-13 will be good in the new flick. If they can have superman do what he did in man of steel(I loved it) I'm sure wolverine can let loose a little more than he has in the past.

it felt like they were to scared to have logan use his claws in Origins, and it was either FOX wanting it to be child friendly or everyone involved was to busy trying to make logan look like someone who would never do wrong

hence the R-rating point I was making. They don't want a Wolverine that doesn't resonate with the general audience or the kids. made him too much into a poster boy rather than the animal he is. At least Hugh Jackman has honed down in character on the levels of RDJ.

Saw my first Wolverine poster on the side of a bus today got the first X-Men film gives from it, really am pumped for this right now.

I think I can safely say that I speak for everyone, when I say we all want Wolverine of X1/X2 rather than the one from Origins.

I may be proved wrong of course.............

Really impressed by the train clip, but the score in the background was BAD. Not a deal breaker though, so no big deal.

I wonder if they keep the Yukio treason in the story, it was one of the greatest aspects from the comic..

The two clips are edited to cut out any real story info, I think.

6 Things to Know About 'The Wolverine' Beauty Tao Okamoto

"The Wolverine" is set to claw its way into theaters on July 26, but while Hugh Jackman as the titular mutant is a familiar face (he's been playing him since 2000's "X-Men"), less familiar is the woman playing Mariko Yashida, Wolverine's love interest.

Her name is Tao Okamoto, and if it rings any bells, it's because Okamoto's a huge star in the fashion world, especially in her native Japan. You can get a closer look at her in the new "The Wolverine" trailer, but here are 6 things you should know about Tao before catching her in her film debut.

Man I have to stop watching these clips. I've seen too much already. That clip was awesome. The fighting so far looks really well done. Wolverine and Yukio look bad ass.

Man, why are they editing the clips so much? It's not smooth transitioning at all.

^ I think to keep it more about action and less about story spoiling. Each clip has a very brief introduction and then cuts ahead into whatever sequence they wanted to show with as much story as possible removed, but not to the point of being completely incoherent.

It's better that way, we don't want to see too much.

Yeah, looks like they cut some of the action too. Some jarring cuts in there...

i like this clip better than the bullet train sequence. the choreography looks pretty good. I can't wait to see the non edited version at the theater!
