I was just thinking about that, i don't remember a title!

and waaaaaayyy more gruesome! alot of this film is really pushing the PG-13 rating.

Seriously! That one scene later, before the Wolverine/Shingen fight, I was sitting there like...holy ****. :wow:

Awww, I always want movies to have the title card at the first 10 minutes of the movie.

How the first 15 minutes of the movie are, it blends so well together and really sets the tone in such a great way that the title card would just disrupt all of that. It has a good flow to it.

I still can't remember the title card, I think once the credits started to come up i was such on DoFP mode that I went mentally numb.

Nice! That sounds great. Also, do you think the film felt 'arty' in some scenes because some shots and the cinematography looks quite 'arty' or like an independent film in a good way especially in the Wolverine vs. Shingen fight with Wolverine holding a sword with the rain in the background

It felt like they actually took time writing a script, which was just impressive to me all by itself.

It didn't seem like a 'big budget' superhero story, just a very self-contained story about Wolverine.

It got a little crazy by the finale, but again...I didn't feel it went overboard, and it was still a solid action sequence.

Aside from the action scenes (and the final battle) it very much feels like an art house film. In the best way possible. You FEEL like you're in Japan. The mountains, the pastures, the ghetto. All of it. So well shot. Mangold wanted the filming to be tightly shot, no sweeping camera scenes. Even in the action beats and chase scenes it looks more like a Bond film than a comic book one.

*Sigh* I JUST got home to post and everything, Had to catch my train and deal with the traveling home, so i couldn't really got on SHH earlier than now haha..

but my gawd... WHAT an event! Danoyse you got to go up on stage?!!? How did I miss you?! I was trying to look for the wolvy sneakers! I was the tall guy in the red x-men shirt, in the very front of Hugh on the stage. I got to see everything and Hugh gave me a low five haha. I got a few autographs and my girl got a more intimate picture with him lol.

it was a great... TRULY fantastic night...

The movie - MUCH better than expected, one of the BEST marvel movies by far. One of my favorites already. I absolutely loved it. The third act was Nowhere near as bad as people make it out to be...

and viper was AWESOME! Psylockolussus you have nothing to worry about! she rocked.

I saw it, but I don't remember it as well as the end credits scene.

And the end credits scene is not a DOFP trailer, there's no footage from the movie or anything. It's just an awesome, awesome tease for what's coming.

Yes on all accounts! Japan itself felt like a character int he film because you have Logan who is always a fish out of water, but now more than ever in this entirely new world and handling is in such a way, the character's interaction with the environment was amazing. The varieties of cultures, mythologies and history touched upon in the movie was astounding!

Oh wait Danoyse i just realized there were two groups, you were in the OTHER group before us, i was in the outhouse type thing (it was freaking HOT in there!)

sorry I'm really tired haha.. Sucks I missed ya!

Exactly. It's completely different from Man of Steel or Iron Man 3 in terms of superhero movies this summer. There are stretches in between the action sequences that's just story, and character.

The scene where Wolverine is with Mariko and [BLACKOUT]he realizes they're where the bombing was is actually a beautifully shot scene. That one really stuck out for me.[/BLACKOUT]

I haven't seen anyone say Viper is bad or her scenes were bad. They were just.. cartoony. Which is a tone that nothing else in the movie really carried. She would have fit in perfectly in another X-Men movie. But here, for me at least and those i've spoken to in depth about the movie, her part draws you out of the story with that "oh, it's a comic book movie" reminder

We were in the inside, right in front of the escalator closest to the glass doors!

LOL! YAY! :woot:

Yea she was definitly over the top, but not cartoony or anything cringe worthy, she brought the comic book feel, and i loved her. she was deadly. and her voice was so sexy lol. My girlfriend also loved her. I gotta say the Females are represented amazingly. not a weak link here at all.

Harada was a lil too floppy/parkour-ie ...lol But a nitpick.

Yeah, we were inside near the escalator...right near icekid, actually (we met!). And one of the Fox people asked me if I wanted to ask Hugh a question, so I got to go up on stage. :wow:

The first time I saw the movie I literally said 'Holy s**t' out loud when the atom bomb dropped on Nagasaki. I didn't expect that. At all. It was so freaking powerful and so was the rest of that sequence.

Whether she's end up good or bad for me, I think I might end up liking her. One of the reasons why I kinda liked Storm in the original trilogy and Emma in First Class because most fans didn't like them.

I agree, Viper wasn't a bad character neither were her scenes, it just took you out of the world they created in such a major way. That's how I tried to wrap my head around how I felt about it at least.

Oh yea id agree with that fully, I guess thats what i mean to say. Ive heard people complain about her a little bit. She brought the comic book feel, which i liked. It gave it a bit more fantasy.

OMG, the ladies in this movie (and I include Viper in this) are fantastic. Can't believe this is the first movie for Yukio and Mariko.

About freaking time SOMEONE treated comic book females as actual characters and not caricatures

Haha wow, thats what I get for being early I guess haha. I could have totally not starved myself and got a better seat with AC lol.

Oh well, It was a great time either way. all the traveling paid off.

This franchise is always discovering fresh new talents!

Definitely. I still had those M&Ms in my bag, it was halfway through the movie before I remembered they were there and went for them.

We ended up in the last row of the theater. But...I went on stage with Hugh!!!!! :wow:

I desperately want Yukio in an X-Men movie.
