LOL! I thought those trays of snacks were going right for the VIP section, not to us! :oldrazz:

Haha yea, I was so hungry from not eating a proper breakfast, to waiting in line and missing out on lunch, i would have grabbed anything. The ticket promised "free food" so my eyes were peeled lol. I was super disappointed it was just candy! So I just took a whole armfull lol!

They passed out waters later so that was a life saver. I hit up taco bell on my way home around midnight lmao. Terrible diet day. I usually eat pretty well, but I had to sacrifice for Hugh!!!

Did you like it? lol

So I finished reading Wolverine by Claremont, what else should I read to prepare?

Thanks, was worried the real bad words were more often used.
Really hoping I'm going to enjoy this.

They're only allowed to get away with the F-word once to keep their PG-13 rating, so it only gets used that one time. The lesser swear words are tossed around a bit more, but they're not overused either.

I didn't have lunch either, but I was more thirsty than hungry when we got inside. I got the peanut M&Ms when they got passed around, but I was happier when the tray with the bottled water got there. I was still holding the water bottle when I went up on the stage.

And they had popcorn and soda for everyone when we got to the theater, but the popcorn was already gone. I was so wound up from the whole going on stage thing that I wasn't hungry anyway. I just grabbed a Coke and went into the theater.

We went to a diner back in NJ after the movie. I noticed then that I still had the 3D glasses on my head... :oldrazz:

I trust the F word was "I f**king love Double B!"

Yes?

Yes.

Does anyone know if the Jean Grey poster is on sale anywhere?

I'm looking again at the Frank Miller comic. There are great pictures, based on light and shadows silhouettes and iconic scenes..

I know the movie is arriving but is there scenes or images that transport us directly to the book?

For example ,I know the scene with all the arrows in Wolvie body and some ninja fight..

I thought the movie was beautifully shot. The bear from the comics is in there. Nagasaki obviously features into the film, and that scene is revisited in a poigniant way later. Just...see the film, you'll understand how I'm describing it better.

I had forgotten that there was a bullet train in the comic. It was just used entirely differently. :oldrazz:

It's better than first class. FC had some cringeworthy moments. It's not an x-men movie, it's very much a wolverine movie.

I loved man of steel and did not think the action was over the top. For this I also didn't think the third act was as bad as people are making it out to be. It's a culmination of the events before it, and a big showdown. There's nothing cringeworthy about the film for me, all the battles and SFX worked great, all of it was well done!

Alot of things in this film were very forced, the jean stuff didn't need to be there, it felt like a subplot that was added in places and pretty much went no where, and I know many will disagree with me but personally you could have skipped around that very easy

Decent film but its not an xmen film as you say, I'd still say FC was better if it was

Is a typical wolverine thing where it feels like things are forced in to make wolverines story but interesting

Eh? The whole point of the movie needed Jean to be in it for Logans psyche and redemption motiff. I cant go into details because of spoilers but she had a vital part to play!

Many have said the jean stuff takes you out of the story, mostly because these little jean moments are meant to be part of a subplot thats not really looked into much overall

like i said many won't agree and thats fine but it could have written around very easy and it wouldn't have changed the film or the effect on wolverines character thats how small it felt to me, but thats my own personal opinion

Fair enough I think we shall honourably disagree on this because to me she was part of the main plot of Logans journey mentally.

Im sure your right that some will see it both ways too.

Actually, it doesn't. Wolverine's where he is at the start of the film because of what he had to do to Jean. He's dealing with the guilt of it all. It's not really Jean in the movie, it's this lingering guilt over what he had to do. It's why he cut himself off from everyone, why he's leery to get close to anyone else.

[BLACKOUT]And at the end, he could have died...he finally made the choice to pick himself back up and move on. He'd let her go. [/BLACKOUT]

It's important to the plot of this film. She's completely in Wolverine's head, she's not the character as we knew her from the other films.

I agree, "Jean" was vey important. It really helped me out with Logans inner struggle, and I actually felt for him. Yea its hard to go into details, but Jean was indeed important.

I think thats the point that people are missing.

Yes she pretty much:

Is a visual representation in the movie of Jackson's character going from "Logan" at the start of the film to him accepting who he is and letting her go to once again become "the wolverine". The soldier ready to fight again.

*quietly seethes*

It was part of the question I had to ask Hugh at the screening! So we're both on the same wavelength, since we heard that from him. :woot:

I know that you're all far too well-behaved to do this, but just a reminder anyway:

DO NOT post any links to the end-credits scene here.

It's inevitably going to end up online, if it hasn't already...but we can't have any bootlegged footage from the movie posted here.

Thank you.
:yay:
