I certainly wouldn't mind! Diane Lane of course. I don't know about Martha Kent, I'd feel dirty. Plus Clark might decide to start killing (after reading a certain devilish topic on this forum ) and I don't want to be on the receiving end of his heath vision.

I was reading an article about the show Person of Interest which was created by Jonathan Nolan and in it he says something that worried me about the new movie.

So what is Jonathan Nolan's role in the movie as I thought he was the one that pitched the idea to his brother Chris & is also one of the writers alongside David Goyer.
So is it the same as TDK where Goyer rights the story and Nolan writes the screenplay?

No, Goyer pitched the idea to Chris and as far I know Jonathan did some rewrites on the script. But what did he say about MOS that got you worried? And do you have a link to this article? I never heard of Jonathan mentioning MOS anywhere so it would be interesting to see what he said, if he did.

Goyer and Nolan were asked to come up with something for a Superman movie because it had to get going thanks to the lawsuits and deadlines. They came up with a story, Goyer went off and wrote it. And subsequent to that, others were brought on-board for rewrites, tinkering, touch-ups, etc. Including Jonah Nolan.

And subsequent to that, others were brought on-board for rewrites, tinkering, touch-ups, etc. Including Jonah Nolan.

I read they had a writers block when working on ideas on TDKR and Goyer started talking about how he'd do Superman and Chris thought it was brilliant. At least I think that's what Chris said in an interview I've read (Im sure I can dig it up). However, I wouldn't be surprised if they were actually approached by the studio to make something up. Though I guess that story wouldn't be as encouraging to the public, ie if you are doing something just because you have to not because you actually got a good idea.

Yeah, thought so. Well, I really hope they don't make a mess out of it, if only because I love the character too much to see it crash once more. What happens if MOS disappoints and underperforms? I mean, does a studio do a quick reboot or is it game over for Superman on the big screen for another decade or two?

What he said was " Almost all of them, with the exception of Superman – I think my brother … is going to make a really cool film, but I kind of don’t get that character. He’s the closest to an establishment superhero that you get. Occasionally writers and artists have gotten some great material out of that conflict for him, I think most superheroes, certainly the ones that I’m drawn to, whether you’re talking about Batman or Wolverine or Spider-Man are vigilantes and they’re working firmly on the outside and always running the risk of getting caught."

I thought that it was J Nolan who had pitched the Superman idea to his brother and so when I read him saying this about the Superman character it worried me a bit.

^^ No need to worry, Jonah Nolan did not write the story and script, it was David Goyer with some inputs from Chris Nolan (IMO.).

Jonah Nolan was asked to do some rewrites, basically polish the dialogue. The third act was weak, so Snyder brought in a third writer Kurt Johnstad to write that.

I know many are happy synder didn't take a pass, but I was wondering why he didnt instead of bringing Kurt to write the 3rd act. Could it be Synder said no and brought Kurt or was it Wb that said he needed to find someone else?

Kurt Johnstad has worked with Snyder before on 300 and he has written the script to sequel to 300 (which Snyder is producing), he has also scripted many other movies, so to re write the third act (as Goyer was busy writing for Godzilla) he was considered.

Those names were mentioned in a “rewrite rumor” last July. But no details or confirmation (as far as I know) since then.

I'm just curious.....Henry Lennix was cast in MOS, but was he ever spotted on set or anything. To my knowledge at least. I mean we haven't seen or heard anything about him since he was cast. I wonder if that is for a reason, like maybe the role called for him to be bald and wanted to keep him on the down low? I know that his character's name is 'General Swanwick', but what if that's just a decoy name? Anyways, just curious as to what you guys think. Here's a pic to jog your memories.....

Um, yeah, no. He probably filmed indoor scenes (Army HQ or something like that). But bald, aka, LL? Nah. And there was more outdoor shooting that we don't know of, or havent seen pics. I know they were shooting in more streets in Chicago than what we saw (people running, Clark on a bike). Not everything get's photographed.

Yes, I am fully aware that not everything is photographed. My only thing is Christopher Meloni is playing a military man too, but he's been spotted on set. Now I know that Meloni's character is a Colonel and Lennix's character is a General, I get that, but it just seems as though he would have shown up at least once in the many photos that were taken. Just seems sneaky to me. I understand that there probably is nothing to it, and his scenes could very well have been filmed indoors and whatnot, but I just thought it was interesting that we haven't seen one thing about him since being cast.
