Isn't the ayer cut literally just 10 minutes of extra footage though?
Yep. The last thing WB should do is continue to listen to teenagers on twitter who do nothing but spread hashtags all day. I have a ton of respect for Ayer, and training day is one of my favorite movies, but the past is the past. It's just not a good idea. As predicted, they didn't stop clamoring for more after they got the Snyder cut. In fact, they continued to bash WB. It's just gonna get worse if they do that again
I agree with all of this honestly. Margot is easily the best part of that movie, and I probably would watch it. But I also wouldn't say I'm interested in seeing it, especially with how good this new film seems. But hey, IF they do go ahead and release it I'll more than likely check it out.I'll say this. Personally I'm interested in an Ayer Cut only for the simple fact that I love Margot's Harley and I kind of like Captain Boomerang so I'm open to a cut where the experience of rewatching it isn't so excruciating. I've still only seen the movie once and it sucks because Margot is so good.
That said, while I expect and am open to an Ayer cut being a vast improvement, there are still fundamental issues that will hold the film back. Will Smith is still too Will Smith so for me he's miscast as Deadshot. Enchantress will still be doing awful belly dancing. There's this almost machismo-like tone Ayer goes for with the characters that is supposed to tell us these characters are tough or from the streets but either the direction or performances feel hollow which makes me cringe. The way Diablo is written is a good example of this force "edginess" Suicide Squad tried to go for. Finally, I don't care how much footage you give me of him, I do NOT like Leto's Joker in Suicide Squad AT ALL. I still hate that portrayal all these years.
So is it worth all the trouble and bad precedent for WB to let Ayer do his cut? I don't know. However I'd still watch it and a part of me thinks Ayer, Margot and Jai Courtney deserve it.
btw tag line on the top right says "fu-king badass villains vs kaiju"
These people are truly insane.
Do you think we could get another Suicide Squad movie?
Yeah. I think it's possible. You know, Suicide Squad or even taking somebody from The Suicide Squad and doing something with them individually or a couple of them or whatever. I have all sorts of ideas, and we talk about it all the time. I don't feel like I'm done with this villain-verse yet.
