I'm on team long capes too. It looks better IMO and if you're going to have a cape.. go all the way :P I like how it billows.

i know i'm in the extreme minority, and they even removed it in the comics, but i love the collar. it gives a little more regal look which i like. *shrugs

The hole shouldn't be a problem as the suit can seen repairing itself after it was damaged after being shot by the ship in smallville. The only change I would want is making shield a little bigger, otherwise it was perfect as I loved how big superman love looked especially in the court scene. I could also do with a hair style Change as it was a little too flat.

I liked it too, it was an interesting look.. don't know why people hate it.. they probably just don't like change that much…

It was more to do with the amount of blue overload it created I think had they just modified it to be an open collar then people might have accepted it more also if they had done a better job with the red waist separated it would have worked better.

After some close inspection I've noticed that are some small changed to the suit.
The piping on the side has changed a little.
- The large/inner one and the 3 middle ones aren't as close
- The 3 middle ones goes down into more of a point
- the leg ones stop at the gold belt part instead of under the 3 middle ones too

Those are pretty much the only differences I see so far. But this confirms that it is in fact a newly designed suit?

Oh and I don't think they mirrored his face in the new shot. You can tell my his nose so it must be how his hair will look now? I hope so. Makes him look younger.

I don't even think this image is representative of what Superman will be in the movie. They put him there to calm down fans. The image is a rush job. Understandable, since they're still deep in the production. Actual promo materials will be VASTLY superior to what we got so far. Just like BvS final promo materials are fantastic. Similar to that early ugly pic with grim Supes under rain.

b.Normal suited,clean shaven proper Superman.

Clark was buried in normal civilian clothes. So who has the suit - Batman? Martha? Lois? Is it in his Superman-guide Metropolis coffin instead? On eBay/Craigslist?

Batman has it. Batman makes Alfred wear it sometimes. Batman's messed up.

Interesting thoughts. I posted this in the general disc thread but it's pertinent so quoting myself

Asides from the issue of how he will re-appear in the film, I hope that we get to see a more 'responsible' Superman in JL. Responsible in the sense that you can't leave Kryptonian tech lying around on Earth, because sooner or later people like Lex (or the military) will use and abuse it, putting Earth at risk from creatures like Doomsday.

To that end, I'd like to see the huge ship in the middle of Metropolis removed by Superman when he returns. It could serve a useful function as the new Fortress of Solitude if it was repositioned in the Artic or somewhere else remote, or even serve as JL's watchtower if taken into orbit.

It would be a nice node to the comics if the remaining robot helpers on that ship detected Superman's revival - with him perhaps in a still weakened state - and brought him to the ship, perhaps using a regeneration matrix like in the comics to help him recover.

Different muscle suit underneath (look at the abs) and a certain segmentation in the crotch area:

I don't see any other differences, could be that color was slightly altered as well. Wondy's suit also had only minor changes - more vibrant colors and fully enclosed greaves.

Oh, and thankfully, his hair doesn't look as slicked anymore. At least, to me it doesn't.

I wasn't sure about it... at first I though the thick one closest to the abs looked a bit less angular, but shrugged it off as an optical illusion. But you're right. Difference being that the lines are closer to each other, ending in a narrower point. It is especially noticeable with those three lines in the middle as the one far on the right (to the left of the angular one) ends much sooner than the other two. On BvS suit they were all of same length and ended at one same point, but now that line on the right conjoins with the middle one about an inch before the ending point.

This also affects the placement of the angular piping right next to the abs, it seems moved further to the sides now. I think that's also a reason why he appears less "blocky" here, despite being of pretty much the same size. Piping is sleeker now, with narrower gaps between the lines. Good catch.
