The Superman Suit thread!

Nope. Nope. Either have him with a trunk or no trunk WITHOUT a belt. Superman with belt of any kind is goofy on many levels. Also, I don't like the cape's shoulder placement --WTF is that? The boot should have been a simple thing, this one looked like a pair of jack boot.

Otherwise, I like the colour, the shield and the materials.

This is why I don't want any of the main heroes on the TV --their suit will likely look too goofy. Only the Supergirl's suit look the best out of alll TV suits.

Btw, on closer look --it seems to me that the suit constricted his bulk & muscle since he's supposedly a bit bigger chap.

The belt is odd because the costume looks like it's supposed to be a one piece which would make a belt redundant.

Padding is a necessity. People can b**** about padding in superhero costumes all they want, but at least it gives an actual appearance of shape.

This is maddening. It's physics. These suits will compress flesh and muscle. There is no way around it. So yep padding needs to get added. It won't make a really tiny guy seem huge but it helps the big seems seem the proper size.

This suit is pretty bad. I cant stop laughing. Nothing seems to come together. There's no fluidity.

The bodysuit is fine, I like the shield and the boots are OK... I guess. I hate the cape attachment, I don't like the belt and the neckline is too open for his build. I'm sure it will look better in motion, but still. Not that good.

I tried adding Superman from the JL promo pic. I'm not very good at this (I had to create part of his arm and hand), but you get the idea. BTW... Yes, CW loves their leather costumes, but the costumes on Supergirl aren't made out of leather (except for the cape and boots, obviously)

So I guess Flashpoint is affecting Supergirl

I guess it's fine for... what it is. It's definitely not great (that cape attachment being the worst of it) but it's not so far off base that we won't get used to it.

All this really does so far though, is reinforce how much Cavill looks like Superman, and what a great job Snyder/Wilkinson did with a modern Supersuit.

I almost can't fathom who signed off on using that pic of Hoechlin. There's a chance the costume might not look better from a better angle, but he's a good looking guy and he just looks like s*** in that pic.

Yeah, as somebody pointed out in another thread-- The same thing happened with the Benoist reveal pic, though perhaps not this extreme. I'm looking forward to seeing some more natural, better angled pics.

For CW budget it looks pretty decent, except for weird cape attachment, also they could have padded it a bit.

At any rate it is 100 times better than Flash and Green Arrow suit.

I love the DCEU Supes shield so much that I don't ever want to go back.

For me literally the only thing I don't like about the Cavill suit is the shield size, it was perfect in MOS.

haha don't get me started on the shield changes. I have no idea why Snyder/Wilkonson changed the size of the shield. In MoS it looked like it was a part of the suit, but now it kinda looks like you can Velcro rip it off.

I think the CW superman suits looks alright (very new 52 jim lee-ish, especially the boots); it's just unfortunate that it has to compete with the perfection that is the DCEU superman suit, which is just about the only good thing about Synder's films IMO.

It reminds me of Superman returns.. The maroon colour and bright yellow.. The symbol design is pretty generic, they didn't do anything creative.
It looks like a cosplay, a really bad one too.

Agreed, he makes Tyler look like a Supershrimp, although to be fair he does have a little help from a muscle suit which it seems Tyler does not have the benefit of.

He is huge. The cw guy is really small, he doesn't have the physique for Superman at all.. He could work as Superboy but definitely not Superman.
