Are you reading the Justice League story? It's pretty damn cool and proves that the guys can work together again.

It also proves they don't do their homework. A vampire CAN'T bite Superman. Last time a vampire did that.....it burned up because of the goddamn solar radiation in his body.

What was with the villains too. Cruifier looked like the leader of a gay pride parade.

Yes I am and Blackbolt's nitpicking again. I accually love it. IMO it's some of his best work in years.

That's more than nitpicking...the vampire story in Superman happened a year ago and was a major story, writen by a much better writer Jeph Leob. Claremont has the JLA going up against vampires........ Think about that for a moment. This is a group that battles ancient GODS, and Universe destorying creatures on a monthly basis.

You can't expect me to get excited about a major team like them going up against such lame villians. Most long time JLA readers don't even like the story. Explain why the issue has been getting so much negative reviews? Most have never read X-men either.... so you can't call them anti-claremont fans.

It's very dissapointing that a team of this calibur can't come up with something better. JLA vs Darkseid or Mongul....something EPIC. That's what I wanted.

There's only one damn issue of the book out so far. How the hell do you know where the story is headed. freakin' Darkseid would have been so damn prdictable and all you guys would have *****ed about Byrne using Kirby characters again.

I wouldn't. I love darksied. I'd never get tired of him. The Bryne/ Darkseid arc on Wonderwoman was the only good run on his Wonderwoman run. IMO....it's hard to do a bad story with darkseid in it.

If not Darkseid....something else. I'm just sick of vampires in general.

Plus....I'm not like you guys. If I'm not hooked on the first issue..I won't blindly pick up the rest.

You can't blame Claremont for the JLA going against Vampires,
Byrne is the Plotter, it was his Idea.

I also blame the editors too. Why do editors let big creator teams full creative control. Marvel does it all the time. I'm surprised DC let them do it.

John Byrne is such an Egositical ******* I doubt anyone could ever work with him.

Byrne is a very hard person to work with, he believes that It isn't true or it didn't happen unless he wrote it.
(like he retconned Doom from Uncanny #147 into being a simple Doombot and not the real deal).

indeed. The man bashes all these writers for padding out stories and not following continuity.....yet....he's doing it himself. I think he's also a hypocrite.

Oh come on...how many frickin' times have other writers used the "really a Doombot" device to explain something. That's hardly something to single out Byrne for. He wasn't the first and I'm sure he won't be the last, either.

Anyway I am thinking that Maybe Excalibur will be about X-Corp. Cause in Cable and Deadpool #1 Cable gives a guy a card for X-Corp and says Ask for Xavier. Maybe it is just incohesive writing.

Perhaps Excalibur will also feature the new Captain Brittain.

I hope not. Austen's new Captain Brittain is really a crappy idea. He tries but it just doesn't work.

(I re read the Draco tonight and all I can say is Austen lost a supporter)
