Maybe the plane scene is apart OF Bane's (speculated)prison break.
Someone suggested the idea that Bane was being transported to Gotham on board the plane, but managed to break out of it, which is what causes the fire. I think this would be a good idea, but I'd hope to see some Bane prison scenes as well.

Just glanced at the news, do they mean American football or British football?

Why would they transport Bane to Gotham though?

That's taking too much from Bane's motivation. Bane should want to go to Gotham himself, for his own reasons.

So you're suggesting the Plane scene would take place in South America? And Batman would land it on a South American highway?

But I get you. I like the idea that Bane is attracted to the challenges in the Gotham underworld, as well Batman, too.

Wait...Batman? Why is Batman on the plane?

The original report was that the scene involved Batman taking control of a plane on a highway whilst it was on fire, wasn't it? I suppose you can speculate the legitimacy of that claim, but that's still what my assumption is based off.

Exactly, it's possible that he isn't on the plane at all. The tabloid said he was, but it's possible that they were wrong on that point.

Wait, a TABLOID reported this plane stuff?

ARGH!!

Not just that, a tabloid that in the past reported that JGL was playing the Riddler. Not very credible.

Do you think TDKR will bring finality to the Nolanverse? I know Nolan has said this will conclude his trilogy, but will it conclude the universe he's created? I'm not sure I'll be able to accept a more fantastical (at least not highly fantastical) universe if another director chooses to go that route. I want to see the entire rogues gallery get the Nolan treatment.

...and yeah I know Nolan isn't the be all end all of Batman, but I really do like his approach.

The plane thing has been rumored for awhile I believe. But they mentioned that the scene involved Batman landing a burning plane on a highway, which is the part that I'm skeptical on. Personally, I think its either Catwoman or Bane.

Yeah it's probably Bane.

This is definitely the end of Nolan's universe. That doesn't mean Batman is necessarily going to die or quit, but the story Nolan has created will end with this film. Batman can continue on, but not in Nolan's world. No director is even going to attempt at replicating his films.

I don't remember this at all.

I just heard people saying that in one of the info hunter's thread. So I'm just going off of rumors I heard in there. It could be entirely false.

No, it's different. News of the World is the one that reported the plane crash stuff. The one that reported the JGL/Riddle rumor is Hollywood Life which reported the Catwoman Costume news/rumor.

Yup. Back in May. The plane rumor/speculations started when Inverness emerged as a possible location and then there a tweet from a news guy that apparently Nolan applied to shut down A9 to land a plan for a stunt but was denied. All of that was back in May. And then it surfaced again this late June with that "news" from News of the World (or whatever the name of that tabloid is). A few days after, a more reliable source (Inverness Courier) reported about the same thing.

 Thanks kvz!

Football game, probably at Heinz field, with explosions, to be featured in a Batman movie.

Someone wake me up, this is too awesome.
