The Teen Titans on TnT ( Tv)

It doesnt have to be creatively limited by continuity. Its bad writing that limits it simple and short.Good writing not only is creative inspite of continuity-It takes Adavantage of it.
There are more creative opportunities when there is no other previous continuity, so yes it is creatively limiting the series if it is connected to the movies.

Either way, connected or not, i don't care, I'm just ridiculously excited that this is finally happening. I've been watching the 2003 Titans show, Young Justice, and I read the Judas Contract again.

After reading that story, i prefer the more sympathetic version of Terra like in the animated series.

I Disagree vehemently. For YEARS weve seen creative stories in shared universes in comics. We are seeing it on screen with Marvel. The only creative limitation falls down to the writers.

Get mad about it being unconnected to the movies then...

I've accepted that The Flash, Arrow, Constantine, and Gotham are outside the movies, why should Teen Titans be any different..? I do get what you're saying though, it would be cool if they are connected.

But i kind of don't want the Justice League to be a big part of this Titans universe. I don't want them to feel like a B team. in the Titans animated series, they never felt like the B team, because they never focused on the League. Young Justice is all about the league, and about legacy, but the team is basically in the Justice League's shadow, and the members constantly feel like they have to prove something to the League. The league are basically legends on that series, and that's one way to go, but I think I'd prefer for the Titans to be more independent. There should be Batman references from Nightwing, same deal with Aqualad/Aquaman, Kid Flash/Flash, Speedy/Green Arrow etc; if they are used.

A good way of keeping the focus off of the league is only including one legacy character (Dick Grayson) on the team at first. The rest of the team could be Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, and Cyborg. Aqualad, Kid Flash, and Speedy could either join the team or make small appearances throughout.

I would love for Tim Drake, Superboy, Cassie, and Bart to be introduced at some point

Im very happy with DC's tv shows but I how wish they found a way to make it all connected with the movies the way Agents of Shield, Agent Carter, Daredevil, and the other netflick shows are part of the MCU.

They dont even need guest stars from the movies, just subtle references that they are all part of the same universe. It just would have been neater to know Ben Affleck's Bruce is in the same world as Amell's Arrow.

It would take a lot of time, effort, and creativity, but IMO it's worth it.

Having all of them be connected would suck and limit all their potential. Why should I lose sleep knowing whether or not iZOMBIE or Gotham are connected to Man of Steel? No thanks.

Im not gonna lose sleep either, i stated that Im happy with the DC shows. It just would have been cooler if they found a way to make it all connected.

It's one of the things that makes the comics universe cool, that Green Arrow lives in a world where Superman lives as well. Have you read Lemire's Green Arrow run? It was great and creative, it didnt feature Superman or Aquaman, but it was set in the same universe as the Justice League.

No need for guest stars or crossovers, or stories that are affected by the movies, just subtle references. A good writer would know what to do so that his/her vision and stories for the show will not be affected by the movies or the other tv shows.

I disagree about a connected world limiting the potential of the shows. Would you say the Daredevil show is limiting its potential by being in the same universe as Thor?

Again, Im happy with the DC shows, it just would have pleased my geeky sensibilities more if they pulled off a connected universe (movies and TV) like Marvel is doing.

Yeah, it's part of the fun of comics. It doesn't "limit creativity" unless the creators/writers are themselves uncreative. A GOOD writer can have little nods/teases to the rest of the universe, but still do their own stand-alone thing.

I like the idea of the movie and tv universes being separate, it's one thing that Marvel is not doing which is having multiple universes at once. At this point we only know that Arrow and Flash are the tv series that are connected within their own universe. Also I could see Constantine, Lucifer, Sandman, and Justice League Dark being connected all in their own universe.

Elizabeth Gillies for Raven.

A very interesting piece over at Variety looks at all of the new and returning comic book TV shows which are heading our way this Fall, and after addressing how Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. didn't really find its feet until a crossover with Captain America: The Winter Soldier, executive producer Maurissa Tancharoen would go on to talk about how being part of a shared universe is both "a blessing and a curse," adding: "The fact that it is one universe means that when something occurs on our show or a character makes a turn, it ripples through the entire universe, which gives it much more weight. It adds the seal of approval of all those other cinematic franchises."

Of course, we all know that shows like Arrow and The Flash aren't set in the same world as Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, while the fact that Constantine and Gotham are airing on different networks is a good sign that they too won't be connected. Why is this the case? "We want to give freedom to creators… so that they can take their passion [and make] the best show, the best film, the best game without having to tie it into other things," Geoff Johns told the site. As for why he beleives their shows find such success, he said it all comes down to sticking to the source material, "Yes, it’s got to be adapted and expanded, whether it goes from TV to comics or comics to film, but the DNA of it is always true."

Given that Arrow has already killed off Brother Blood and locked Deathstroke underground, I'll say Titans being connected to that series would be very limiting.

I’m sure they will introduce their own version of brother blood and deathstroke..

So, with Cyborg seemingly joining the cinematic Justice League, he may wind up off limits to this show. Personally, I'd replace him with Jaime Reyes. They could conceivably avoid the first two Beetles, but I would love to see Ted Kord on the show, as a sort of mentor. Maybe move the rumored Booster Gold series from SyFy to TNT. That would be great.

Kaldur/Aqualad would be an amazing replacement for Cyborg, not because they're both black but because they are both on similar levels of badassery

I'd agree, but then you also have to include Aquaman in the show.

Not really. You could say that he isn't really aware of his connection to Aquaman or something to that effect.

His connection to Black Manta is more important. If Kaldur shows up, Black Manta has to show up to imo, Aquaman is less necessary, a reference would be enough.

he doesn't have to go by Aqualad, just Kaldur

If the Teen Titans cartoon could get away without blatantly showing Batman anywhere in the series, this show can get away with having the characters without their mentors.

Plus, it seems likely that the lineup of the show will be fairly free of legacy characters aside from Nightwing. Sounds like they're steering in the direction of the Raven, Starfire, Beast Boy, and maybe Cyborg? I like CaptainWagner's suggestion of using Jaime Reyes as a replacement. Adds diversity, relies on robotic-like tech, and opens the door to the Reach as villains.

That's different. Those are two separate film studios (Fox and Marvel) who both share the rights to that character, or parts of him anyway. WB owns the rights to the DC movies AND TV shows.

Would you guys like to see Static Shock on the team? I wouldn't mind if he was a founding member

And maybe damian on the tema..

yes to Static, no to Damian.

Keep the focus on Nightwing at first. If they're going to introduce a Robin, it has to be Jason or Tim. Damian should be their last priority. Plus, Tim is the better Robin, with more connections to the Titans.

A few seasons in, Tim, Superboy, Cassie, and Bart Allen could be introduced, that'd be pretty awesome.
