Thea as Speedy, Roy as Red Arrow or Arsenal, simples!

Saw this post on neogaf. I'm sure they remember this pitch (Goyer might suck as a writer, but he's brilliant ideas man). It's way too early for that, but I would love to see them take second half of..say...season 4 and run through it solely with this story line. But that time Oliver should have enough highly trainer sidekicks that will be able to at least partially handle the city while he;s gone, so we can have scenes from the city spicing up the main prison storyline.

Well, they've hinted that she'll become more involved in the main storyline later on this season. I'm also betting that she'll learn that Merlyn is her real father fairly soon and I wouldn't be surprised if she learned that Oliver was GA either this season or early next season. So I'm betting that, if they want to make her another sidekick, that it will start in season 3.

Also, that character's name is Mia Dearden. Thea's middle name is Dearden. Coincidence, I think not.

That's a lot of liquid for a petite girl to pack away. :oldrazz:

Smart, understanding, loyal and super pretty, Thea pretty much turned into dream girlfriend material for Roy and he has to pretend cheat on her due to Ollie latest brainfart. It looks like the fallout is going to see Thea go down a dark path in the next few episodes.

So what big secret do we think that Thea will learn in episode 18? Guggenheim has said that it will DRASTICALLY alter her relationship with Oliver. Will she find out that Merlyn is her father and that Oliver has been keeping it from her? Will she find out that Oliver is GA and that Roy is working with him? Or will it be both, hmmm?

My money's on the former.

Maybe it will be as simple as Thea learning that Oliver ordered Roy to break up with her, and she'll be horrified how he looked her in the face and asked her about it, as if he knew nothing, so she'll feel she can't trust him anymore.

Or maybe Slade will tell her something.

That'd be REALLY underwhelming. And I don't think that it'd "drastically" change her relationship with Oliver (actually I believe that Guggenheim used the term "tectonic shift" to describe how the Oliver/Thea dynamic changes). I can see her being angry with him, but nothing to that degree. Plus, it'd be kind of a disservice to her character if that was all that there was to it. The fact that supposedly Merlyn is returning in this episode (some people have reported that Barrowman was on set) leads me to believe that her "daddy issues" come to light.

Sometimes a picture of a woman in an oversized sweater is so much sexier than a bikini.

So, in the span of like a day or two, Thea gets dumped by her BF, kidnapped by a deranged nutcase with a cool eye-patch, discovered that her real dad is another deranged nutcase, AND that both her mother and brother (the one person who she's completely trusted) lied to her about you. You know, this would be a great time for Papa Merlyn to dropped by and have a little chat with her, maybe bring her around to seeing his side of things. That'd be the ultimate revenge on Oliver and Moira, corrupting Thea into joining him and becoming his protégé.

Y'know, I still don't see Merlyn as being a viable daddy-figure to Thea outside of a blood transfusion. One of this show's messages has been that you'll still love people who hurt you, and she clearly loved both Robert Queen and Walter Steele, had a friendship to Tommy Merlyn that probably let her see what type of father he had, and she was willing to risk her life for Roy during the Undertaking. And all of that is still tied to actions Merlyn committed.

I still think she's more likely to punch him in the face and listen to the creepy one eyed guy who told her "the truth," as unlikely as that seems.

She's an emotional and mental wreak at the moment, and the upcoming episode solicits only seem to hint at her spiraling downward even more. She's been betrayed by everyone at this point. I can see Merlyn coming to her and saying "yeah I've done some bad things, but now my wife is dead, Tommy is dead, the company that I spent most of my life building has collapsed, and my name and reputation have been shot to Hell. You are the ONLY thing in this world that I have left and I have ZERO reason to lie to you." Normal Thea probably would tell him to buzz off. But Thea in this state, I can see her at least letting him explain himself first.

I think there is no compelling reason for Thea to take any interest in anything Malcolm has to offer. Slade on the other hand could try to sway her to his side (since he's the only one willing to "tell her the truth" she'd probably hear him out.).And with Roy potentially working with him......

After Roy went after the nameless bartender woman.... I doubt Thea would be interested in anything Roy has to say.

Eh......I think she senses that he was trying to push her away for some reason. It was obvious she knows something was behind it from Roy's semi-comical "Hey-we gotta brake up now." I doubt they'll be apart for long.

If the promo's for the upcoming episodes are accurate:
Roy goes super-crazy and attacks her.
So I kind of doubt that they're getting back together anytime soon.
