I say good. More cartoons need violence. I remember people talking about the violence in cartoons when I was a kid. Hell, I think it gave kids a way to relieve their anxiety from bullies and things like that instead of taking it out on everyone in the hallway.

I agree with you on how more shows need violence. It shows that certain actions have consequences. But there are nutjobs out there who are afraid that if kids see violence in a cartoon, they will more likely reenact it in real life. However, if you show characters fighting as not having any affects, then kids will more likely do the same thing in real life and seriously hurt themselves.

But, again, concerning the death toll for this show so far, just...damn! I knew this new show was going to be serious, but I didn't think it was going to be that serious! :wow:

Snarf is cuter in this incarnation though.

I agree. He even bordered on cute a few times. :woot:

Loved the new show!

Question.

Are they on same planet, Third Earth, from the original series just way in the future or a completely new setting?

It seems they kept the best themes and parts of the original while adding alot of new depth and mythology.

Just speculating, but they mentioned at the beginning how their Thundercat ancestors conquered the lizards and defeated Mumm-Ra, and the "Cats Lair" in the current rendition resembles the original.

I was thinking maybe these are the descendants of the original Thundercats like Beast Wars was to the original Tranformers.

Absolutely loved the premier. I'd like Lion-O aged up a bit but I guess it fits the "young prince" angle. Soooooooooooo glad Snarf can't talk!

Was there an opening song? My DVR missed the first minute or so of the show.

The producers said they plan on aging him up later on in the series.

Anyone know when they will air this again? I missed the last part of it.

no just started with a shot over looking the kingdom and all the houses. with a voice over of jagga giving a quick little prophecy from the book of omens. this is what he said.

"these were days of peace and prosperity on third earth". "when one empire stood above all others, ruling with a just hearth and razor claw". "and though omens foretold in the book would be ignored, the tragedy to come was necessary". "for it was written that he would be born of fire, a king, to lead his people to victory against ancient spirits of evil".

while the last part was spoken it showed i think an archway that is in front of the cats lair type castle. has a carving on it that depics lion-o's father with the sword and shield leading an army against mumm-ra and the lizards.

I hope theres a themesong next week. I really want to hear how they have treated that classic awesome tune!

Came across the premiere by accident when I was searching for TeenNick to set up my DVR. I liked it a lot. From the animation to the story it's solid. Cheetara :hrt::wow: Will continue to watch it unlike the new Voltron.

Good good

Oh, I saw that part. I thought I had missed the song my seconds. Thanks

Same here!

I liked the premiere very much! A solid start! It seems to have that same type of story-telling quality that the 2000's He-Man revamp had, although there are more abrupt reimaginings in characters with this revamp of Thundercats than the former(in a good way). Consider me hooked!!

You can't beat the original theme song and intro so why even try. :awesome:

i still like the guitar outro from the old show.

Yeah I was also wondering about that. After Lion-O's father mentioned their ancestors defeating Mumm-Ra the first time. I hope their ancestors and past are hinted at or fleshed out more as the series goes on.

I loved Jagga and his clerics. "Clerics. To the death!" I hope Jagga survives.

i think it is just a retelling not a continuation from the old show. all the characters are there but they are slightly different.

Out of curiosity, did anyone else think the Thunderkittens' voices sounded a little... detached from their character designs?

For anyone who missed the premiere, you can watch it on CartoonNetwork.com

http://www.cartoonnetwork.com/full-episodes/index.html

It's a little bit tricky. You have to have a cable provider to log-in with to watch. For example, I have Comcast, so I had to find my Comcast.com log-in information. Cartoonnetwork.com will direct you to what you need to do. Get your info, log in, and it will direct you from your cable provider's site back to CN.com where you can watch full episodes. I missed the fist couple minutes so I'm going to re-watch it now.

P.S. It took me a few refreshes to actually get the video to load and start playing.

I don't think so. Especially with Jagga around. I think they are trying to establish a back story and history. Also in the original they came from another planet and the Sword of Omens came with them. On the new one Mumm-Ra says that the jewel in the Sword or the Eye was once his so no I don't think that's the case.

Ya I thought the same.

And I think you could take the originals premise and alter the characters to basically call it a prequel if you will.
