I really liked the last episode. I like background stories and this one gave us a lot of information.

What I want to know is, what is the connection between Mum-ra and Mon-star? Within the context of the show, they both can transform. They both look similar so they are probably from the same race.

If they ever do a crossover with the Silverhawks, how are they going to handle the fact that the Silverhawks came from Earth, roughly our time.

Monstar had a stone of power ( like the Eye of Thundera ) and Mumm'Ra stole it from him.

Who exactly did the war stone (Eye of Thundera) belong too? This needs to be expanded upon, as do the other stones obviously. I'm not sure if I like all this history though; I prefer Mum-ra to just be an evil being with no ties to the Thundercats other than just happening to have pissed him off and who possess a power that he wants for himself.

I think the war stone is just like all the others. Just stolen from other various planets and civilizations. Mumm-Ra sees them as his because he took them. But they really dont belong to any one who has them right now. But I wonder how much the Thunderians knew about their history since if the King and others knew and still proceeded to treat the other animals as lower class citizans would just be wrong (even though it already is but even more so)

Things are sort of forgotten over time and history is doomed to repeat itself. That's just sort of how I see it.

I keep looking for Monstar in the ep and I can't spot him at all. I seen Mako from TigerSharks but still no Monstar. Damnit!

I loved the last episode. Crafting a rich backstory can never be a bad thing, as far as I'm concerned. I'm also a bit curious about who the original owners of the stones were, though. I have a feeling they might turn out to be advanced humans or something.

Mon*Star was on the view screen in Mumm-Ra's pyramid ship when they are overlooking certain battles and events.

Yeah, I saw him. That was nice. Hope they do something with him later on.

As far as I'm concerned, and if you go by the comics also, I hope that Mumm-ra stays the only human ever (even though he was warped over time).

Why? It'd make sense if the humans held the gems, since Mumm-Ra clearly has the most knowledge of them. It'd be pretty weird for a dude to be literally the only member of his race in the universe, too. Where the heck did Mumm-Ra come from in the comics?

Eh, just when I hear 3rd Earth, I think its been millions of years since humans have been around.

As for Mumm-ra:
According to the first chapter on Wildstorm’s comic Thundercats Origins: Heroes and Villains, Mumm-Ra’s origin is set in ancient Egypt.[14] He was once Wahankh, a member of the pharaoh’s council and his most loyal adviser. We can also see Wahankh’s dog, Ma-Tep (supposedly the future Ma-Mutt). The friendship made with the pharaoh was so close and enduring that the sovereign actually considered him as part of his family.
However, Wahankh's real aim was to overthrow the royal power of his pharaoh in a coup d'état, and become the ruler of the land. To achieve his goal, he invoked the presence of the Ancient Spirits of Evil for the first time by using four magical runes, representing each one the four evil beings. Once the spirits appeared, he requested a small part of their power in order to defeat the powerful pharaoh’s army. In exchange, he would rule all Egypt in their name as a humble servant. The Ancient Spirits agreed to help him and Wahankh was invested with evil powers, becoming an immortal sorcerer at their service, while his entire body mutated into a cadaverous grey form. Finally, a new name was given to him: Mumm-Ra.
Knowing about this betrayal, the pharaoh immediately faced the monstrous and grotesque being. Trusting his new powers, Mumm-Ra ordered the pharaoh to bow down and proclaimed himself the new master of the realm. Nonetheless, the pharaoh’s son confronted him and quickly managed to outmaneuver Mumm-Ra in battle, defeating him.
Without being aware that Mumm-Ra was actually immortal, the pharaoh spared him the fate of dying at the stake for his treachery. Considering all his years of service, the pharaoh instead granted him a merciful, religious death being locked as a mummy in an onyx pyramid’s giant burial chamber. The pharaoh's son, knowing about Mumm-Ra's neverending life, took joy in imprisoning him for (seemingly) all eternity. In the darkness, Mumm-Ra begged for the help of the Ancient Spirits once again, but they denied it due to his incompetence in using those powers they had previously granted him. Instead, they ordered him to build four large statues on the chamber to praise them, a task that would take at least 600 years to be accomplished. Only then they would grant him the power to break free by turning into an eternal and overwhelming warrior, capable of defeating any pharaoh. Before the TV series storyline, at some point he fulfilled the work, receiving the ability to become Mumm-Ra, the Ever-Living.

Could still be. We don't know how long ago that stuff with Leo and Mumm-Ra was.

I don't think the comics can be a reliable source of Cannon for the Thundercats. The comics were published by three separate companies Star Comics, Marvel UK and DC/Wildstorm I can't imagine there being a lot of continuity.

I totally forgot about Ma-Mut! I wonder if they are going to introduce him into the show.

Plus with the warrior maidens from the original, there should be humans on the show still.

maybe they will be original survivors of third earth, just like in the original cartoon

The way this show is shaping up, I think the reveal of humans will be a huge plot arc. After all, if any species in history has clearly shown it's not good at sharing a planet, it's us ...

really? why would you want that, that rules out character like Hachiman and mandora. the new show could do amazing things with these characters

Ok, finally spotted Monstar. At first I was thinking you guys were saying Tygus was him cuz of the thing over Tygus' eye but I saw the quick flash of him up on the screen. It'll really be a shame if we don't see him or some of the SilverHawks show up down the road

Well, I'll be happy with better written, non campy Lunataks.

I honestly can't even remember the Lunataks from when I was a kid. Same goes for the 3 cats that show up in season 2. I even had an old Pumyra figure when I was a kid and always thought to myself "Where the hell did this chick come from?" lol

Im guessing the Lunataks will be used for a 2nd season if they get it since they wont try to use every classic Thundercat character this season.

I've watched up to episode 6 today, and I have to say this show is amazing. I get a Star Wars meets Final Fantasy with cats vibe about it.
And... Poor Emrick.

WOW, that was AWESOME, I loved Drifter, What a great new character, this show just keeps getting better and better, good stuff!!!:awesome::up:

I liked it but im ready to get more characterization on the other cats instead of just Lion-O. And we saw our first human so I guess they still are around.
