And back we go to Lion-O acts like a dumbass for 20 minutes, then learns a lesson. :o

I'm assuming that all those troll and blue mofos are probably from whatever race was on Third Earth before the animals crashed.

I agree that we need to get more on the other cats, but that was still a fantastic episode. Drifter really was a great character, hopefully we'll see him again sometime. "Or not, I don't really care." :cwink:

This show is the Thundercat's meow!

The Drifter is my new hero, a real slacker in all his glory!

Really good episode. Yes, it seems to be the 'Lion-O goes off, ***** up and learns from it' premise so far, but still enjoyable. Really loving the growth of Lion-O. Just need to see more of the other cats now.

I'm LOVING the animation of this show. Absolute quality.

I enjoyed the episode in spite of its strict adherence to the standard formula too. The Drifter was a fun character.

One question, though: How is Tygra doing mechanic work on the Thundertank when he didn't even believe technology existed at the beginning of the series? That was kind of weird.

he's gunned up now, he practically has a phd in mumified technology now :o

Was that Miguel Ferrer as the swordsman?

Sounded like him.

i watched the episode, it actuall made quite alot of sense to me as a metallurgist,

didn't like the sword of thunderra being referred to as a steel though

the strength in apparent weakness was a nice notion but it had no real implicaiton in the battle and i would have expected a much better swordsman to be harder to take out.

all in all, both those characters are great additions to the ambience of the show

oh and i mentioned in an earlier post that i wanted colonies of mixed animals living in harmony, i got that in the sword village and i was very pleased in how they all interacted.

I was more interested in the Drifter's voice. He sounded a heck of a lot like Jim Cummings, a.k.a. Winnie the Pooh. Which is awesome.

true

The Drifter was actually STEPHEN ROOT of all people.

Also Lion-O is the main character. This is his story get over it.

Did you guys whine this much when He-Man always saved the day in MOTU?

I can only speak for myself.

There are two different modes when it comes to programming of this sort. Filler eps and installment eps. Take the last air bender if you will. Season one had things like the "lovers cave" where ang has a little pointless adventure and ends up learning a lesson towards the end tune in next week for another filler. And then you have (most of) season 3. Not only is the relevance turned way the hell up, but the drama of each episode as well.

The previous ep seemed more like an installment ep right down to the confrontation with the boss of the series of all people. And this last ep well...

I can only speak for myself.
fillers are made to give new viewer a chance to jump on, that's great:yay:

Maybe l;ater this season we can get other character centric eps other than the ones of Lion-O.

I think something that could be added to Tygra's character is maybe a latent jealousy over Lion-O automatically being King because of his lineage.

Actually I'm about 99.9% sure it was Stephen Root's voice from Office Space where he was Milton "I believe you have my stapler" Waddams. He was also Bill on King of the Hill and does Penguin and Woozy Winks on Batman The Brave and the Bold. Guy's got a great voice.

Wow, I would not have guessed that. He really reminded me of Winnie the Pooh in his inflection on a lot of lines. Thanks for the correction (to everyone who mentioned Root, not just SpideyForPrez).

The series is presented as an ensemble show. Doesn't matter whether you think it's Lion-O's story or not, flat-out neglecting every other character in an ensemble cast for long periods is just bad storytelling. To use an example that seems popular around here: Avatar was named specifically for Aang, yet all of the other characters got plenty of attention because the writers of that show were actually good enough to realize that having a cast of more than one person means you need--not should, need--to flesh the rest of the characters out.

Ive seen that guy in Whose Line.

Wow, he mustve been channeling Miguel for the duelist.

Good episode and the Drifter was bad ass, he beat the duelist with a tree branch. That is just wickedly sick.

Umm, that's how it works and people in those societies just accept it. It's not odd to them, only to the people looking in from outside.

Prince Harry of England never expected to be King, nor did anybody else. He had to accept as part of his reality that his older brother would be King.

In Thunderan society, only Lions can be kings. Tygra is a tiger so he can never be the King. It's as simple as that. His age is irrelevant because his race automatically excludes him from being the King. Tygra knows this and as he should is following Lion-O just like the other cats.

I loved the lastest episode. The Drifter is a fantastic character. The Duelist failed to reach the levels of awesomeness due to lack of development. I wish we had gotten more of his story but in the end it was about Lion-O and I loved his progression.

I was surprised to see Lion-O able to use the Sword of Omens for frivolous things like cutting that slab of stone and dueling the Duelist. I remember in the original series the sword refused to be used for inane purposes.

There was a hint of jealousy to Tygra back in the two-parter. Even though he obviously accepted Lion-O would be king, you could tell that he was jealous and thought he could do a better job if he were king. That was back when Lion-O was doing a piss-poor job of being king-to-be, though. Now that Lion-O's slowly learning how to be a good king, Tygra seems content with him (unless the show is manufacturing some conflict between them by making Lion-O incredibly moronic at the beginning of any given episode).

I would never have guessed that was Stephen Root as the Drifter. I actually thought it was Fred Tatasciore, talking in his normal voice (rather than his Hulk voice).

I think Tygra's time is coming his history is shrouded in a mystery right now. Questions like who are his parents? How did Claudius come to adopt him? These questions have yet to be even hinted at.
