This latest episode was average to say the least. I thought the frost giants looked good.

The rest of the episode was just..meh. "I say thee ribbit" was kind of funny though

Watched the Venom episode last week.
Apart from Spidey's cold, the episode as a whole was quite enjoyable.
Just thought it was silly how the team doubted Peter when he said it's clearly Venom.
Venom's gonna be appearing again soon in a few episodes time, it's like the show is forcing him upon the viewers.
I'd say the episode was a 7.5/10

I'll watch the Thor episode some time this week hopefully

Sorry, but this is an awful reincarnation of Venom. Venom isn't from space, but is made from Spidey's DNA. The symbiote doesn't leave its host in control, but just takes over completely. Not to mention that Spidey + the symbiote is simply Venom, instead of a black suit. And Harry being the black suited Spider-man is just ridiculous.

No, I don't like this version of Venom AT ALL.

and the dumbness just keeps on coming...

Thorfrog... jesus... :whatever:

"ribbit" my ass...

I didn't comment on Venom  That bit got me confused lol.
Still think Spider-Man: The Animated Series handled Venom the best, but I also like the changes TSS-M made too, it helped to enhance the story of the suit

Throg was in it? Needs to be seen to be believed lol.
I like how the show puts in some obscure characters from the Marvel Universe.
Batman: TB&TB has done it better though

I am having a debate with myself whether or not to be done with this show. It is kind of like a car-wreck you can't not watch sometimes lol.

I'm going to try and stick around up to and through the Wolverine episode. Not sure if I can though.

Harry as Venom is actually a better idea than having Brock become Venom.Because Harry has better character development and has a better reason why he would want Peter/spidey dead.

Revenge for his dead dad(in the movie).

I only catch the last 10 minutes of it every week because Avengers EMH is on afterwards... that's the ONLY reason I subject myself to Ultimate Spidey horses**t...

But that's the point! Harry has no reason whatsoever to want revenge on Spider-man at this point in the series. And it wouldn't even matter if he did have a reason, because this version of Venom doesn't allow the host to have control. It just picks a random host and takes control over it. It doesn't bring out the bad thoughts of the host anymore, nor does it feed on hate anymore, which is what always has been the symbiote's purpose.

Is Batman TAS really that good? I watched it as a kid, but i really dont remember much about it. Are the fight scenes good? If so I might look up a few episodes.

BTAS is as good as it gets for an animated series with the JL/JLU series a close second and third...

absolutely NONE better than those...

Spawn comes damn close, though...

Batman TAS was all that and a bag of chips.

Even then, Harry always had an inferiority complex that would have worked great with this show's take and Venom.

Of course, this show being terrible, they managed to screw up THAT idea.

Batman TAS is the best superhero cartoon of the 90s.

Batman:TAS rules the superhero genre on TV

Anyways, funny episode, loved the pun about goats, and the "It reeks to be the title character"
We were supposed to get Wolverine's episode today :argh:

The Spectacular Spider-Man is the best superhero cartoon of all timeBTAS is great but it had almost no continuity. I mean you can watch some episode from season 4 and still understand what is going on. The episodes of Batman, while so well-crafted and entertaining, rarely have any interconnectedness. As a viewer, you only have to watch the origin of a villain, like Two Face’s, and then it would make no difference continuity-wise to watch either his second appearance in the series or his tenth! And the writers could simply go pick one helluva storyline from the Batman comics and adapt it as a two-parter without the burden of having a huge cast or advancing many other plotlines lingering from the previous episodes at the same time. This way, they could just handpick some of the greatest spider-man stories of all time and turn them into self-contained kick-ass episodes (storylines like Kraven's Last Hunt, the awesome Doc ock story in Spectacular Spider-Man 73-79, The Kid who Collected Spider-Man published in ASM #248, the first Hobgoblin story arc published in ASM 238-251, - Who Killed Jean Dewolfe? In Spectacular Spider-Man 107-110 and many many more). Storywise, it is much much easier to produce a show like Batman TAS than it is to make a spectacular Spider-man (pun intended).

Spectacular Spider-man had no bad episode; heck, it didnt even have an average episode! Batman TAS (which I like tremendosuely and have a great respect for) however, had a few stinkers in its first 20 episodes: The Underdwellers, The Forgotten, Prophecy of Doom and, to some extent, The Cat and the Claw: Part I& II and apart from a handful of absolutely great episodes("Over the Edge", "Legends of the Dark Knight"," Mad Love"), seasons I & II of the New Batman Adventures (1997-1999) were mediocre at best.

I would say B:TAS deserves the cred more about what it STARTED, rather than what it is. The show itself has some inconsistent quality. When it was good, it was pretty damn awesome, but when it was bad....yikes!

SSM is definitely the more consistent one, though. Whether it would have remained consistent could have been shown through more episodes, but alas....

This last episodes....wow....just wow.

Honestly this was in my opinion the worst yet. Some people might have gotten a tickle out of seeing Throg, but having never seen him prior to this, to me it just added to the mediocrity of it all and seemed targeted at preschoolers. Thor never grows from the experience or seems even concerned with his predicament.

Really Spider-Man did nothing in the actual episode besides say "we can never defeat Loki, we're losers, only Thor can!" Then he just insults Loki so he turns Thor back (in the most childish way possible) and the avenger can solve all their problems for them.

Then there is the fact of the members of the team all getting different weapons so that they defeat the mindless minions with the opposite of their natural strengths (which for no reason at all are presented like weaknesses.) Since when is defending your team or waiting for the opportune moment to strike a bad thing. Instead the stupid dwarf tells them to be just like this TV version of Spidey and mindlessly charge into battle without any concern for surroundings or what is happening. What a touching message.

Also, when is Spider-Man EVER a leader. Even in Spider-Friends he wasn't a leader, they were just all equal teammates. He has always been the solo act, even when allied with Fantastic Four and Avengers.

This entire episode was a mess, the action sucked with even the animation lacking. Most of the action scenes looked like a bad japanese cartoon with character yelling, leaping through the air, and colorful lights in the background because the animators are too lazy to put in the backdrop.

This was boring, didn't make any sense, and worse even the animation was pretty crappy this episode.

Alright, I just created an account to rant on the series and here are my main complaints:
-All of Spidey's teammates are turned into teenagers (including Iron Fist, who is now a surfer dude)
-The symbiote is created from Spider-Man's DNA (stupid) instead of Peters fathers "cure for cancer" in the ultimate comics.
-Too many hero team-ups to focus on character development
-Extremely hit or miss comedy
-Eddie Brock needs to be Venom and if not do it right
-I want to dismantle NOVA
-They will most likely ruin my favorite comic character Wolverine in the upcoming episode
-I was hoping they'd have a kingpin arc like in the ultimate comics, but now stay far away from that
-This series needs to find a good mix of being serious and lighthearted
-Seriously, if you're going to call it Ultimate Spider-Man make sure you make a lot of the characters follow the ultimate arc or don't call it that

Wow, I guess I have a pre-schooler mentality then. I LOVED the Asgard episode on Sunday especially that Coulson showed up again and that they did the Ferris Bueller reference which doubled as an in-joke because of Jennifer Grey.

My only real problem with the episode was Peter outwitting Loki; believable from Natasha but not so much from Peter...
