It's an arcade style racing game where you can destroy the racetrack and do all sorts of cool stuff....great presentation

the thing, IMO, that separates Split/Second from other racing games is the presentation....its presented as a big budget TV show that has built these huge sets to showcase action packed racing

its so simple, yet it works so well

Hey, Blantskidoo, are there any customization options on the cars in Split/Second? That was the one thing I didn't like about the demo. You were stuck with that one blue car all the time.

not really....you get cool little decals for various acheivements and its pretty easy to win different cars....some cars are meant for endurance, some for speed

there is an acheivement called 'Bully', where you have to wreck every other racer at least once during the a single event

I hate to break it, but there's really not that drastic a difference in the two in this point in the game, other than the exclusives. And if you bring RROD into this, I'll remind you of the great PS3 Bricking.

I'm not one of those people who completely condemns a gaming system and is a fanboy of the other (although admittedly its easy to read that out of what I said).

I've owned Sony's stuff from the original PlayStation and its what I'm used to... the X-Box controller has felt foreign to me every time I've ever used it at someone else's house.

It would take some complacency approaching that of EA's NBA Live series for me to change consoles over, because I'm someone who takes a long time to get used to that different kind of controller.

It took me a while to build up even a minor level of cometency in the PS controller after stepping up from the Mega Drive.

The problem's on my end, not the X-Box's.

Totally..and wasn't even trying....I bought down a bridge via exploding train and took out like 5 or 6 other racers and got the other two with a gas truck

Most I remember getting is 4 with that crashing plane in the demo. Speaking of which, I have to admit, the big set pieces lose a bit of their mystique when you figure out how to avoid them. I happened to veer left when one of the AI racers triggered that crashing plane on me, and I slid right under the wing. So now I just veer left every time I come down that ramp, just in case, and I've missed the plane like 3 more times. I laugh in the plane's general direction.

yes and no....I got a giant smokestack bought down around my ears and in one of the highway/city ones there is a half built building that has been owning my ass
