At the end of the day, for however brilliant a writer Alan Moore is/was, he doesn't know **** about how the business works.

If I ever created something and Marvel/DC published it, I'm pretty much accepting that I don't own that **** anymore and I'll be getting a small percentage of the profits and will have no say in what happens going forward. It's just the way it is.

He pretty much admitted as much when he said he didn't read the contract through...

That said, he also mentioned that when he wrote for Swam Thing and created John Constantine he did accept that he didn't own that s*** and that DC would have 100% control of it... and was fine with it. It was only Watchmen that he had issue with because he was led to believe that would be a different case altogether.

Was led to believe that by not reading a contract.

You know both sides would have been talking about the core concept of the book and the idea about how it would be produced prior to the contract being drawn up though...

Watchmen was, at the time, supposed to be something of a leap forward in terms of creator owned comics (and in a way it was a bigger one, because it became a more publicised example of a creator feeling screwed by a publisher).

But ultimately, yes it comes down to Moore for not reading the contract.

I would think most who writers who work for the big two Marvel and DC would expect that the comic company owned the rights to whatever they wrote.

If you don't like it stick to writing with the smaller companies or the indies.

Yes, and when it came to his other works with DC that is what he expected.

He believed that Watchmen was supposed to be a different entity altogether (in which case he should have at least read the contract...) and was planned as such.

There is no loyalty in comics. People will sell their friends out for at the drop of a hat.

Maybe not at the drop of a hat for me but definately if the price was right, except my best friend cause he is a brother to me.

:csad:

Friendship is magic Darth

i don't even think moss would fight the aliens. he'd question why anyone would fight the aliens then end up taking them to the park before they returned to their ships at which point he'd realize they'd stolen his wallet.

He would challenge them to a game of Street Countdown

And beat them so badly they would return to their home planet in shame

I can buy friends when my latino superhero comic El Cholo becomes a movie and it makes millions at the box office.

Sienna Miller is smarter than she looks. She said there is no way she is having her baby in LA due to all the drugs around after some hollywood doctor prescribed her vicodin when she is six months pregnant.

No wonder Micheal Jackson, Heath Ledger and co end up dead with doctors like this that.

I would totally go to see that movie :ninja:

I would watch the **** out of it

Who do you want to play him

Sienna Miller gets a lot of **** but she has potential....to be in my bed. But seriously, some of the **** she gets is ridiculous.

I'd fly everyone in this lounge to the premiere.

It has to be a respected actor in the Hispanic community. Someone who understands the plight of the latino.

Cillian Murphy.

I like actresses like her and Kate Beckinsale because they are quirky and crazy as hell.

Alot of these hollywood chicks are boring as hell outside of acting. Hearing them talk is like watching paint dry.

Yeah, they really don't take themselves seriously as much as their public personas might say otherwise.

Like most europeans I doubt Cillian Murphy knows what the hell Hispanic/Latino culture even is.

That is some darn good casting right there

When I think El Cholo, I think white pasty Irishmen.

The "white" and "pasty" descriptors were a bit redundant.
