when did they mention him?

in the first movie, when j.j was asking for a better picture of spider-man, and robbie said they are trying and that "eddie" has been on it for weeks but couldn't get a good shot of spider-man.

They might not really be talking about Eddie Brock, but who else would they be talking about i guess, we havent seen or heard anything about him since then

yea, he is the only eddie we know in the spider-man comics. i guess its just knowlegde of the comic world of spidey that you know that eddie is there, although you don't see or hear him, or hear of him(accept that 1 time)

U think Venom will come back after his first appearance whether its in this one or the next movie

is this 100%? can you give me some proof. because what if we see in the lab the symbiote?

Talk of the aforementioned "100 hotties in the lab" has been ongoing for a while now, had you been here all along you'd know what I was talking about. I do not have links to the conversations.... seemingly every 20something female in this thing is a "lab assistant." Except for Dunst. Must be one hell of a lab-scene: even Octavius got what, two assistants? And one of them was his wife.... for a fusion-reaction experiment, no less. We must be reinventing the wheel this time.

Ain't no big deal to me.

But resign yourself: I would be willing to bet large money we're *not* seeing the symbiote this time out. I don't know why people would even WANT to see the symbiote storyline diluted by all the crap being forced into this film, but that's by the by.

I agree. If you take the symbiote element out of what we speculate is going to be in this film (Peter/MJ crap, Harry going nuts, Sandman, Gwen, and whoever the flip Topher is playing) you've got enough in there to tell a complex story. We don't need Venom, symbiotes, aliens, or space.

I agree. However I think the introduction of the symbiote would be nice. Nothing crazy, but something like Peter walking by a new york shop at night before some scene where something happens. Whatever, hes depressed as usual and then sees on the tv a clip of J.Jameson's son Being prased for his safe landing and what seems to be a new found substance not found on earth that can only be described as a black tarish goo. Then that scene where whatever was gonna happen happens.

Could go like that-He can still get the costume by battling a baddy(sandman) which spills into the lab where they are diagnosing the substance. The baddy can through him into the compartment which its being held. It shatters on him and wala. Then you dont have to elude to that thing being alive till the very end of the movie.

Thats what i think the spiderman movie series is missing. To many things are just blunty put out(in which take up time), when they can just be snuck in there and left there to be reminded of only when its connected with something greater down the line. Instead the movie is geared to an audience who thinks the baddy has to tell them his whole plot for them to understand why the hell hes doing something at that time for that certain reason.
(Best example of a good sneak in-"Eddie Brock being mentioned." It was small and took no time, yet it tells us so many things and it was one sentence two movies ago. He works there, we know hes thier best photographer and peter has gotten pictures of something so great that he can not. Pretty good start instead of a long, over-extensive origin.)

What if Harry pretends to still be Peter's friend and asks Peter how he got his powers, and Peter tells him about the spiders at the school field trip. Then Harry has a lab all set up back at Oscorp to try and recreate the same thing.

Then there is a guy laying on a metal slab(Flint Marko)and Brock is standing by a glass aquarium that are holding all the spiders for the experiment.Brock is there to take photos of the experiment.

During the experiment the machine explodes and the glass aquarium explodes and all of the spiders land on Brock. And the machine Flint Marko is underneath is messing up his DNA turning him into the Sandman.

Maybe most of the movie Venom is an exact spidey clone with a homemade black costume with white spider emblem on the chest/back,then towards the end of the movie he mutates into Venom with razor sharp teeth etc.The mutation could be caused because instead of one super spider biting him like Peter,Brock had all the spiders in the aquarium bite him.

That is a way to connect the villains to one backstory. Then the Goblin could pop up here and there in the movie, then maybe helps spidey at the end of the movie.

The "Eddie" that is mentioned by Robbie in SM1 IS Eddie Brock because watch that part with the pop up info thingies and it says so.

Bump.

Cause and effect.

Discussion anything Venom related here, I know you have the power you pathetic flesh puppets.

Have you seen Topher in any of the movies he's done? Because I have.
And I think he can pull off acting Eddie Brock. I actually excited to see it.

If anyone is basing thier oppinion of Topher from 70's Show, Please see the movies that he has starred in. He is actually a really good actor!!!

To save you some time, check out these ones:
In Good Company
Traffic
And he act's as himself in Ocean's 11 & 12

I don't get it either.

Maybe Venom will be entierly CGI and the idea is that the sybiote makes him huge, like Hulk and Topher Grace could be Brick and still do the motion capture work for Venom.

Either way, Raimi hasn't given me any reason to doubt his decisions. He's done a great job so far.

I'm pretty sure that's what it'll be. Like in the Ultimate Spider-Man.
But, i would be equally as happy if they made radical changes with Venom, and made him like a evilSpider-Man type thing.

Agreeed. He's a talented actor.

I wouldn't say Grace is talented but he's good

Agreed. He hasn't been in enough stuff for me to judge him as a "truly talented" actor. He's a good actor IMO, though.
