The Joker is slaying this poll  :hoboj:
But of course. He's one of the all-time great movie villains, and without crap backstory to clutter up his legacy (Darth, Hannibal, I'm looking at you).
Noah Cross in Chinatown. There's a villain.

Talia should have been left out altogether. Cottiard had barely any scenes with Bruce, they all lacked depth, the chemistry was non existent between them, and when she was revealed as Talia it was rushed, and she was dead 5 minutes later in one of the most poorly acted death scenes ever.
Apart from all that, you really liked her though?
But just think, if she hadn't been in the film, we wouldn't have seen her tight top in Wayne Manor. Worth the price of admission, that was.

Of course,Joker's my favorite. After him(although not really considered a villain)is Hathaway's Catwoman. She was sexy, smart and such a badass! Bane was pretty good and I liked Scarecrow, although I wish he had more to do in "Begins."

That's all there was to her lol. She was just there going on about her boring energy project in her brief scenes, then has the most random sex scene ever, then coasts along in the background of Bane's siege until the end where she gets her Talia reveal before biting the dust.

She is the least memorable villain of the series, IMO.

LOL that was nice but I enjoyed Hathaway's figure in that tight black cat suit even more. Especially when she was straddling the Bat-Pod :cwink:

The Joker for now. I mean, he is the Joker. But Bane really impressed the hell out of me.

I voted for Joker, Bane and my boy Two-Face.

In no particular order:

The Joker
Ra's Al Ghul
Bane

Honorable mention: Scarecrow

I don't understand why people are complaining about spoilers. It is your own fault for coming into a forum where the thread is THE DARK KNIGHT RISES (SPOILERS)

If you want to NOT spoil, STAY AWAY. Go to the Non-Spoiler section. The fault is your own, so don't come around here complaining that you spoiled it for yourself.

Clearly, the Chechen should be #1 ... :sus

Surprised Arron Eckhart isn't getting more love. He was incredible

Mhmmm. That shot when she looks around, leans down on the batpod and shoots the cannons in the finale.

I'd like to reply to this post with a HathCat smiley, ala that HeathJoker smiley, but there isn't one. I wonder if one can be made?

I love how Daggett is on the list but Joe Chill isn't.

I will throw out that while Bane was not my favorite or even second or third of the franchise (though he was still great), I think Nolan's trilogy will have the most profound and lasting impact on that character in the comics and other media. Despite being the man who "broke the bat," for the most part since the early '90s, Bane has been depicted as nothing more than a big dumb brute. Not all that different from Killer Croc to be honest, just with "Venom" instead of Lizard-y scales.

Nolan made Bane A-list again with this movie and redefined his threat level. Not only does he break the Bat, but he brings Gotham to its knees and takes most of the city hostage in a No Man's Land situation for nearly half a year! Plus, I do think the redesign looks much better and Bane in future media (cartoons, games, comics, maybe even other films) will adhere closer to how Nolan did it.

Ledger's Joker is without equal. But there will always be countless interpretations of that character. Bane has been defined by this movie.

For people who keep saying if Ledger didn't die he would have been in TDKR. Why would you say that? Nolan has stated several times he doesn't like repeating himself in stories.

^^This!

****, man, These ****ing guys need to learn not to spoil the ****ing movie for every ****ing body. Dude, keep the ****ing spoilers outta here.

This is in the spoilers forum...

I would rank them thusly:

1. Joker. Legendary performance, had a massive cultural impact.
2. Bane. A great performance and a memorable villain. Only wish there would have been more of him in TDKR.
3. Two-Face. Again, great acting and a powerful storyline. His speech about being decent men in an indecent time has always stuck in my mind.
3. Ra's Al Guhl. Liam Neeson is an amazing actor and his mentor relationship with Bruce was powerful. His legacy sort of hung over the rest of the series.
4. Scarecrow. Didn't really do much, but he was creepy in Begins and had some funny lines in the second two films.
5. Talia al Guhl. This low ranking isn't a knock against her, but she's only got about two scenes so it's hard to place her above anyone else.
6. Maroni. Slimy mob boss.
7. Falcone. Slimy mob boss, but he hammed it up a bit more than the guy who portrayed Maroni.

I don't really consider Catwoman a villain at all in TDKR so she doesn't get included.

Crane stole the show in this one. I think one thing they should've done is shown Crane is his mask making them walk the ice.

For people who keep saying if Ledger didn't die he would have been in TDKR. Why would you say that? Nolan has stated several times he doesn't like repeating himself in stories.

It was a fact that Ledger was signed on for 2 films.
Also a fact that Nolan never had any intention of using Selina Kyle until his brother Jonah brought it up.

Therefore we probably would have ended up with quite a different third film.

(and even if he wasn't signed on for 2, they would have brought him back - it's business, WB saw what Joker/Ledger did for that franchise. It would have been silly of them not to bring him back)

Joker.

But I have to say I was really impressed with what Hardy did with bane. I think if they hadnt tinkered with his voice so much, it wouldve been even better. Plus, if he just had a little more time to show him doing his thing, upgrade again. But he was great.
