"The Walking Dead" developed by Frank Darabont and AMC - Part 2

I like Dale. He may be a busy body but the guy always has the best intentions and always looks out for others.

I think I'll paraphrase Flannery O'Connor for my thoughts on Dale.

He'd be a good man, if somebody was there to shoot him every minute of his life.

That's stupid. :o

He didn't write the episode
I know, but I'm sure I read somewhere he gives the go ahead to scripts and storylines. If that's true, I can't understand why he thought this was a worthy adaptation.

I thought Rick's reaction to Lori cheating was written a lot better than the old cliched "husband exploding, shouting and generally going crazy on both parties" that we always get on drama series.

I actually think that a lot of men in real life would probably react more like Rick than the overly dramatic crap.
I wasn't implying he should freak out, that's the last thing I wanted. In fact, I consider his reaction to Lori trying to cleanse herself to be an overreaction. And without getting back into the whole "The comic is better" lark, I have to say the conversation in the comic was vastly superior. Even though I've given up on this being a literal translation from paper to screen, I do think this is one of the scenes that should been a word for word copy.

Anyone that hates Dale is just wrong. There's really no getting around it.

I'm glad you guys said that. I agree with you guys. I was starting to get worried with this thread. I didn't get the Dale hate. I like the characters that aren't "badass." I like Dale. I like Glenn. I like Rick.

I mean the way some of you guys complain about women and children, I hope me & my family don't get stuck in a zombie apocalypse with you! :oldrazz:

Oh, and I think any discussion about Sophia should be in spoiler tags until next week, seriously.

What's odd to me is rewatching the Season 2 trailer that was released back in the summer...there are some scenes you don't see in the season so far and it wouldn't make sense to do it now. Could it be scenes that was under Darabont?

(Sorry if the images are too long)

I was going to suggest that it's for the second half of the season. But Shane's hair...

yeah, I don't know how it would make sense other than it could be deleted scenes or scenes Darabont wanted in the first half of the season.

Plus Rick has his hat back on. Maybe they were just random shots to fill up the trailer with? Kind of odd.

Maybe that was the unusable footage the Hollywood Reporter mentioned when the story broke about Darabont's firing.

Meh. There are quite a few shows on USA and Castle on ABC that I'd pit against ANYTHING on TV.

Not to start a flame war, but Castle, seriously? You put Castle up against Breaking Bad or anything else on TV? Now I can understand someone who wants to put up The Sopranos, Mad Men, The Wire, or Six Feet Under up against Breaking Bad, but Castle? That just makes me go

It's playfully enjoyable to an extent but is definitely lacks the quality of acting, writing, directing, and cinematography seen in anything AMC or HBO has ever produced.

I'm not trying to be elitist, insulting, or arrogant; I just don't get it.

P.S.: Breaking Bad is f**king art.

Flashbacks?

Maybe this. It's all I can think of. They have used the flashback twice to open episodes this season and three times if you go back to Season 1. So I wouldn't be surprised to see this footage appear in later episodes of Season 2. If we don't see it, that's too bad. I kind of want to know how Shane got out of being faced dozens of zombies alone.

LOL

How's the air up there on your high horse?

EDIT:

You don't have to try. You just are.

When you try to stack the likes of Castle or the monotony of USA's line-up against the likes of AMC or HBO, there's bound to be plenty of people there to tell you how wrong you are.

I'm assuming this is from Ep 7.

That's okay.

I'm not some uppity bastard that needs to crap on other storytellers to elevate my story of choice.

Monotony?

I'm glad you understand. :)

But, seriously. There's nothing wrong with Dale.

I know what you mean. I'm so tired of people taking **** in this show so seriously and always trying to incorporate it into every day life. Like, it's a tv show... ABOUT ZOMBIES. Just watch the ****ing show.

If you gotta think this ****ing hard, and take this **** so seriously and/or literally, gtfo. This is not an hour meant for real life issues. This is an hour mean for dickery and ****ery and suspension of believe.

Wow dude, I worded my response so that it didn't come across like elitism, and I even spoon-fed you by letting you know I did not want you to interpret what I said like that. I was legitimately interested by your statement that Castle is better than anything else on TV and wanted to hear you elaborate. That's all.

But what the hell should I expect from someone who thinks Castle is better than anything else on TV? See, now you just deserve to be insulted.
