"The Walking Dead" developed by Frank Darabont and AMC - Part 2

My friend says Walking Dead sucks lately because there is a lack of zombies.

Thats a ridiculous thing to say considering how many of them we saw in the episode before last with the scenes with Shane and Otis.

Zombies everywhere.

if he's complaining about lack of zombies, then he doesn't really get the point of the show. How many times does Kirkman have to say that the point of the book (and by extension the show) is NOT about zombies, but about people?

The problem with the show is the characters have no goals except survival. It's day-to-day. While a great concept, as a serial it becomes nihilistically overbearing and like a funeral march. That's why people are slowly growing against the show.

So it's taken them 10 episodes to figure out that the point of a show about a zombie apocalypse is survival?

Dude, I'm with you. I get annoyed by "fans" of TWD who fast forward through the "talky parts" of the show. Seriously, this series is not intended for people who are only entertained by zombie action and excessive gore. It's all in there, but the series has a strong vision for its characters and its setting. It's a character drama set against the backdrop of the zombie apocalypse. That's it. Simple. It's amazing that the series is so great considering zombies don't typically lead to riveting character-based drama. Anyone who doesn't get or appreciate that should go watch some f**king lame ass reality TV.

Gale Anne Hurd, producer of The Walking Dead, is terrific at deflecting questions that may yield spoilers about AMC's hit zombie series. But hey, we tried.

Shock had a chance to speak to Hurd last night about Dead who informed us this season is "ending in a bit of a spectacle, go big or go home," Hurd said smiling. "I'm going back [to the production] this weekend. We're shooting episode 2.13 which Ernest Dickerson is directing."

Confirming that season three has indeed been given the green light, Hurd told us, "We've been thinking about [story direction for] season three. [AMC] wanted to hear our ideas."
Sounds ****ing awesome.

So they are still shooting, good.

On that note, I was checking the episode names for the rest of the season. It only goes up to the break off episode.

S02E05 "Chupacabra"

S02E06 "Secrets"
Air Date: November 20, 2011

Growing against it?

Ratings took a slight dip after a record breaking premier, then actually picked back up this weekend.

Season 2 has more views compared to Season 1 even with the small dip in ratings.

My problem isn't the lack of zombies as much as its these plot lines that are going nowhere . The whole Audrey crap has run its course . Either kill yourself or get over what Dale did .....

The missing girl , can we resolve this as well ? I am just not capivated in some of these character arcs

Patience is a virtue, this show is a slow burn just like in the comics.
Plus Andrea this past episode has somewhat forgiven Dale and I hope next episode is where they do some gun training.

Huh who is that??

If you mean Andrea then you might not be captivated enough because you are not absorbing what is actually going on (Like characters names) ;)

Those parts are being annoying, the show can be good and slow, but those plot points are becoming quite annoying, and no, i don't want the girl or the mother to die, beCAUSE I WANT TO F****ng SEE TYREESE, and i hope he's not T-Dog :cmad:
And the funny thing is that i'm not even the biggest fan of him

LOL I don't know where I got Audrey from .... A senior moment at 33 .... :awesome: I am paying attention plenty depite the writers doing their best to make me not to . The Andrea arc needs to end . Either die or move on . If I want to hear nagging , I would get married

Find the kid already ..... I don't need 60 minutes of zombies .... Just some sort of plot moving forward.

Yep, yep. It really is kinda boring. They wasted a chunk of a show trying to get a zombie out of a well for it just to rip in half.

I wouldn't mind them killing the mother, even with it going against the comics, she just doesn't bring enough to the show to be worth keeping around. Keep Sophia alive because, well if she survived this long, she's a trooper, and Daryl should help raise and train her in survival skills, he already looks to be more invested in the search and rescue than everyone else.

Either way I see some horrible deaths in the near future, for most of Hershel's red shirts and maybe 1 or 2 of the regular cast, "I'm looking at you Carol and TDawg" :word:

The mother needs to go for the sole reason that I find middle aged women with short hair repulsive.

I really enjoyed that part, if something like a Zombie outbreak was ever to happen not everyday would be an adventure, you'd have those days where people need to rest and get down with the less glamourous jobs. It also for me summed up the frustrations of the situation they're in.

Saying that I can see why so many do dislike it, you wanna see fights with zombies and story develoment not something like watching Rick taking a dump.

So people want character arcs to start and finish in a couple weeks time? Other tv shows have characters that take multiple seasons and years to work through their problems.

Now people want it done in 3 weeks.

People in real life often take YEARS to work out their issues, if they ever do....and these people are in a hopeless situation.

I just dont get the complaining.
