Shane is a pretty good character. If you're not hating him then the show is not doing its job right because ultimately, you are supposed to hate him. As much as I wanted someone to open fire at him while I was watching this last episode, I want them to keep him around.
Yes, Shane needs to stick around. Rick is too goody-to-shoes, and as much as i agree with him, his character moments play out pretty boring. Shane is much more interesting and adds a different dynamic to the group. He's almost like Rick's dark side, in many regards
I didn't mean as a character though.I mean as a person. As a character he's interesting as hell. As person? I don't see how anyone could applaud his decisions.
Meh. To me Shane's not all that interesting at all. Even as a villain, he's pretty bland. He's just a POS that'll do anything to survive. Anything. The only difference between he and Merl is that he's not (outwardly) over-the-top racist.
I don't consider Shane a villan. Most of the times, his intentions are good, it's just the execution of those intentions that are morally and ethically foul. He's the one who pretty much kept everyone alive before Rick showed up...he wasn't doing that for his health.
Also, the black guy and his son that Rick met in the premier, that he radio's every now and then; will he return at some point? The actor that plays him has been in HBO's series Hung, but i think he's about to leave that show...
I love Shane as a character. He's what a lot of people would do in similiar situations. I know I wouldn't waste a lot of time looking for a girl who would probably be dead in a certain time. I don't think he's wrong at all.
I hate Shane...but I also see him as the other side of the ying yang equation. Rick and Shane are opposites and I think that creates a decent balance for the group in terms of decision making.
If it is then it makes no sense considering they made a make shift rifle range not too far away from the farm to teach the rest of the group how to use the guns and it never attracted any walkers.
I only read till volume 4 and don't remember much, but there:
They encountered 4 or 5 inmates, one is there because he killed his ex wife and her lover, thinking the prison is safe Rick invites Hershel from the farm, because the farm became less safe because more zombies are begining to appear.
The next part is really spoilery
Young women from each group begin to appear dead, the group thinks the murderer was the guy that killed his wife so they inprision him in one of the cells, the murderer is in fact a guy that said that he was sent to prison for avoiding taxes and is captured while trying to kil Andrea.
They free the guy that killed his oun wife and he points a gun to Rick, asking him and his group to get out, however he is shot by somebody i don't remember.
The story continues but i don't remember much more
