Rick didn't seem "nice" or "friendly". He was on defense while talking to them.

Not only that, he started a shoot out. Probably 5-10 guys outside...have you seen the clips for next week?

That one dude's "nice" and "friendly" approach was nothing but a facade and Rick could see through that bulls**t. The big guy couldn't care less about putting up a friendly front hahah.

I try not to watch previews for TV episodes but thanks for the spoilers lol. Either way, the upcoming firefight could have just as easily happened at the farm if Rick were as trusting as you feel he should have been lmao.

Anyone else notice how they mentioned that Hershel didn't keep alcohol in the house after they found his flask, but in episode 7 Hershel was drinking wine with his meal? Could have been juice but it was in a wine glass.

I also noticed that Walking Dead comics and action figures got a suspicious amount of screen time during Comic Book Men. Coincidence?

Uh, excuse me?! Excuse me?! Who started the shoot out?! It sure wasn't Rick! The other man drew down on Rick. This bears repeating cause you seem to have missed it.

You would have to be blind if you couldn't tell those 2 were looking to rape and plunder. I knew what was coming, because some leaked detail said they were intending to do that, but even not knowing that it still would have been obvious. The way the one was reaching for details regarding location, and residence of the farm. Questioning supplies, and his buddy asking if there was women to f**k at the farm made it obvious they weren't looking for hospitality. They were looking for trouble. Also, let's not forget that the one drew down on Rick. That is his fault. And don't say it was self defense. If if he feared for his life all that was required was to put his hands in the air and request that Rick let them leave.

It's becoming more and more obvious to me which viewers have been in confrontational situations, and whether they have dealt with dangerous and suspicious people, or whether they have any sense at all. Rick did the smart thing. You don't tell strangers all the details about yourself and your house in the real world, and you sure as hell don't do it when there is no society and no laws. God forbid some of you ever end up in a similar situation, sans zombies of course, cause you are going to get people hurt or worse killed.

Wine tends to get a pass where alcohol is concerned. Even in many religious circles wine isn't seen as something bad. It just doesn't have the bad image of liquor and beer.

I think it's probably best to just ignore ETM on this subject. :o

The episode as a whole was good, but the last ten minutes was some of the best minutes of the entire show. I loved the direction. We're thinking the same things Rick is. At one point they seem nice but immediately we can't help but suspect something about them. They could be good or bad. The actor(s), the entire direction was very well executed. This is what Walking Dead is pretty much about. These two guys felt like they came out of Kirkman's mind and was in the comic book. Hell, for a second, I thought they were.

When Lori crashed the car my first thought was

women drivers.

They look like the people that came from Woodbury looking for other folks to join.

same lol

So, the last scene was great. The episode was a good start for stuff to come...

...but I really didn't like what happened with Lori. Did not need to happen.
The Lori predicament was a bit contrived. I hope the writers are not going to come up with too many dumb situations to put the crew in mortal danger each week.

yeah, I'm still confused as to why she was going to the bar in the first place. Rick and Glenn went to bring Hershel back to the farm...so she went to bring Rick and Glenn back bringing Hershel back? wtf, woman?

Holy sh**. That's their best number in the entire series.

wow. didn't Hell on Wheels do better than that? I hope it did, that show was baller.

That's what I was thinking. Wine usually isn't a big deal, especially a glass with dinner, but since they made such a big deal of Hershel going to drink and not allowing alcohol in the house I just thought it was a little odd.

Anyway, last night's episode was a step in the right direction. Still a little boring but it looks like things are going to really pick up in the next episode. They need to kill off an important character soon.

Great episode. I loved the details with undead cleanup at the farm and the conversations at the farm. It really delved into the minds of the characters. The scene with Shane and the short-haired woman was very disconcerting, in the way Shane was rubbing her arm.

The scene at the saloon was so freaking intense. I found myself so tense and nervous in anticipation of what might happen. It was obvious from the beginning that the two hoodlums were nothing but trouble. I loved how Hershel and Glenn picked up on Rick's words and silent cues to not give away any information.

Rick shooting the guy behind the bar in the head and turning and putting 3-4 shots in the fatso was AMAZING! With all of Shane's bluster, Rick is the real deal.

Wow, what an episode!

Oh, I almost forgot but I didn't understand Lori's actions at all and freaking out after hitting a walker and flipping the car over was all kinds of dumb. How could she not read a map and drive on a road with no cars? Why didn't she find out the route to the town before leaving? She could have asked somebody. It's not like her going into town was a big secret. Sheesh!
