Not reading the spoilers but is the finale an hour and a half?

Just an hour but then Talking Dead airs right after the finale instead of midnight so they're will be a lot of questions and WTFs that they'll talk about.

hope Talking dead can get the actor who plays Rick on the show at some point, really wish could have gotten Shane's actor as well by now

What a fantastic ending! Personally, I loved the change of Rick stabbing Shane. That came out of left field and made that scene far more shocking. To top it off, the overheard shot of the zombies approaching the farm was a definite "Oh ****!" moment. Great stuff. I missed the Talking Dead, does anyone know who will be the guests for the finale?

Not a spoiler per say...

...but am I the only one thinking Daryl won't be around too much terribly longer?

Daryl is the best character on the show in my opinion. I would hate to see him go. I am anxious to see how he fits in next season. I can see him kicking a lot of ass in Woodbury.

I have thoroughly enjoyed this season. The writers have not been forcing action and letting plot and characters develop pretty naturally. I think Shane's ending was sad but appropriate considering the storyline. Both actors completely nailed the scene. This whole season was built around the Rick vs. Shane story and the farm provided a solid platform to demonstrate Rick's determination to hold on to their humanity while showing just how far Shane was slipping off the edge. I think most survivors in the same situation would choose the safety and stability of a home to the trials of wreckless wandering through a zombie apocalypse. So it made sense to me that the group would fight so hard to stay.

I think an issue is that many of the comic fans already have relationships with these characters and are prejudiced in their feelings on what should happen and who they should be. These are not the same characters from the books. I have no problem with them going in different directions. Carl could likely be just as traumatized watching his father knife his own best friend and Carl father figure, then having to shoot him once Shane zombified.

I'm going to miss that wacky son of a *****. RIP Shane.

I just can't wait till we see Daryl and Merle meet up again.

Wait, so who's the actress
playing Michonne
????

First, use spoiler tags. Secondly, I don't believe they confirmed that she's actually going to be in the show, and if they did confirm it, they still havent announced an actress.

what i'm happy about last nights episode is that two spoilers that i accidently read on this thread was revealed yesterday

[blackout]shane dies, by carl's hands......... well in the comics[/blackout]

and

[blackout]the virus kicks in when you die, doesn't matter if you are bitten or not[/blackout]

Now, i'm spoiler free................... SO DON'T POST SPOILERS HERE AGAIN

If they do have her, they'll probably name her M-Dog. She'll be a jive talking, sassy black woman.

I missed the opening scene, could you tell me how it was like Inglorious Basterds?

[BLACKOUT] The opening scene had Aundrea, Shane, Glen and I think T-Dawg (I can't seem to remember if Daryls was there) going around and stomping zombies in a pickup truck as voice over from Rick eugooglized about Dale and how from this point on they would try to live with Dale's ideals in mind. I assume that person was referring to the opening scene in Inglorious Bastards when Ted bashes that Nazi's head in with a baseball bat. Not very similar if you ask me but whatever.:cwink:[/BLACKOUT]

I've never said that the show needs to be 100% accurate, but certain pivotal moments are important because of the way they played out. Carl was cheated a prime character development moment, and it would have been made MORE significant due to the relationship he and Shane had in the show. This is like killing Gwen Stacy without the use of a bridge.

Oh okay I thought it was something like a good 15 minute talk then all of a sudden action.

Glen wasn't with them.

I'm fine with changes. Really doesn't need to be 100% like the comic... But if you're going to change it, why change it for the worse?

I can give the fact that Shane lived as long as he did a pass. Because it did improve the show, giving it a better build up. But the way he died, is SO important in the long run.

I also fear the series is falling into a formula, where each season will just be a different location where they hold up, then move on in the next season.

Really good episode last night. I'm mad that I saw the spoiler on this thread about last night's episode, but the scene between Rick & Shane was still pretty intense. And I enjoyed Rick's reaction as he was killing Shane. He was really upset being put in that position.

Also, liked the little scene with Glenn feeling like he let Dale down, by caving into the others about killing Randell and not sticking with Dale, as he initially did. The writers do a very good job with (most) of the characters.

And with that, I may avoid this thread this week, because I don't want to be spoiled for the season finale!

Are there many saying the changes are for the worse though? I think most are liking these changes so far, or at least come to terms and accepting the reboot so to speak.

Also isn't that the formula of the comic book? Stay in one place til no longer safe then move on? There is a lot of story to tell at the prison, I could see that being their home for the season but should be two full seasons.
