Immortal in the sense that they don't ever expire naturally (in some stories zombies can starve for example).

So these zombies are basically... magic?

I mean, most zombie stories try to give it some (BS) scientific explanation (virus, genetic engineering, etc). They touched on it a bit with Jenner.

But these things seem to not function on any pseudo-scienticic level. They don't need to eat... or rest... They're apparently immortal.

Whatever the virus or infection is, it only affects the brain and after a person has died, so it restarts the brain which gives them basic motor function and whatever else. And I'm guessing that because it controls the brain and the basic motor functions, the zombies don't need to eat, sleep, etc.

At least in the comics the idea of what the zombies are what created them are left as a mystery, I believe the show is running with that as well. Also in the romero tradition i believe the zombies are never really explained either.

Frankly when you are just trying to survive you're probably not going to analyze what the explanation for it is, just how to stay alive.

I find it best not to overly think the science behind most zombies. I keep finding myself thinking things like when Michonne was pulling her pets out of that place with Andrea how the walkers could know how to step over those logs. How the hell are they not blind let alone aware enough to get around the way they do. I even started discussing with friends whether or not (or even how) zombies could walk up those steps to the second floor prison cells. You'll just go in circles thinking about stuff like that for real

While I'm okay with the comic running a Zombie series forever...I do want AMC's show to end without some sort of hope for the future.

It's not conceivable that no one is looking to solve this problem. There has to be an end point....with some sort of conceivable hope and or solution.

It happened to Dale in the comics and he lived for a while after with a peg leg.

With Dale dead it looks like they're taking some of his plot lines and passing them on to Hershel, including the whole one-legged bit. Which means that, if he follows Dale's character trajectory, he's going to eventually end up losing the other leg...

Even though it is a deviation from the comic series would anybody be interested in seeing Lee and Clementine showing up?

Not sure really...they are like Rick and Carl for all intents and purposes...

Though...if they did show up in a good way I wouldn't be upset.

Saw the Walking Dead after a busy week...Oh my it was beautiful...Full of zombie mania and it felt like the comics scene was coming to life.

I honestly can say this third season will be the best season! Not only because of the previews we have seen so far and the first episode, but the actual content from the comics is so damn memorable it would be very difficult to not love it.

Prison storyline is awesome, Rick is finally the angry "****" Rick that I enjoy.

And thumbs up to Riot Gear Zombies!

FYI - Is it me or does it sound like [blackout] the conversation with Herschel and Lori about killing her without hesitation if she and her baby become zombies...is a recipe for impending doom for Lori...I guarantee you the writers thought about it and are seriously thinking there is no way that baby would survive the zombie apocalypse[/blackout]

Glad I am not the only one to think Maggie is fine, she makes up for the general lack of hottness on the show.
Yeah but I wouldn't say she makes it up, You had Amy and I dunno about anyone but I still think Andrea is fine.

Yeah it looks like it.
[BLACKOUT]I guess if she does die, it probably wont be as brutal as a shotgun that kills both of them.[/BLACKOUT]

I would'n't want them in the current " Walking Dead " show. But I would love to see them in a spinoff or web series.

Besides Maggie, I think Andrea has her own special 'hotness'.

She's alright, a nice body, but every time they do a closeup of her face it makes me think she is half plastered.

Personality aside, Lori looks damn good.

Yeah, she was way hotter in Prison Break

Yeah, she was way hotter in Prison Break

Yeah, but in Prison Break she had more weight on her bones.

Just saw the season premier. Intense already.

I've been saying that Daryl and Carol are going to 'do the nasty' for some time now...

Since Tyreese is not in the show i think Daryl's going to take his role of the guy that Michone seduces.

I don't think Daryl and Carol are together at all. They seemed to just be joking around. At least that's what I took away from their exchange

I know Carol is older but who's going to be picky during the zombie apocalypse?

Daryl probably hasn't been laid in over a year.

i dunno about that,
Considering Daryl is/was/whatever a racist, like his brother. I pray they don't make it TDog, and also that he DIES this season.

I hated how everyone found the armored zombies to be any kind of difficultly.

How to deal with them was obvious and the fact it was turned into some kind "Oh yeah, Maggie's found their secret weakness" moment, was just annoying.

Well, I guess you could kill them all. You have all eternity... and there are a finite number of zombies.

But the fact that even the living are infected seems to be the most immediate issue they need to "solve". Make a vaccine or something.

Actually I think it will be Rick that she goes after. I believe that's the purpose of showing that Rick and Lori are having problems..
