Do you think the show should veer off the comics and add more creatures other than zombies, cause the term 'Walking Dead' can mean more than zombies. Would that totally 'jump the shark' though?

The title also refers to Rick's group. They are the Walking Dead.
But no, don't need to see any resident evil ripoffs.

I just love how Rick is beyond the ability to give a **** now. He's just on another level. This season is off to an incredible start.

I always thought the next episode would take place parallel to the last episode and then end with the guy in the woods but from his/her point of view.

Mother****er swung a machete at his head and shoved a walker on top of him. I would've given less of a ****.

I think once he got past the guilt of offing Shane it's now all a judgement call. You threaten anyone's safety in any way and you're out, just like that. No trial, no jury, just execution.

I don't think Rick is Shane yet. If he was Shane he would have taken out the other two inmates even though they were pleading for their lives. Remember that before Rick killed Shane. Rick had no qualms about killing the men at that bar.

Tho I do think that this season is playing with the idea that Rick might become Shane. I tend to look at shows not episode by episode rather than the themes and conflicts being spoken by the entire season. Then once the entire show is done ask what the hell was that story was all about. I thing the over arch scheme of the entire show might be Rick's relationship with his son.

It's completely understandable given the conditions they live in now. :( Sometimes ya just gotta do what ya gotta do to stay alive.

Yeah, totally, no doubt about it. And a lot more fun for us the viewers :woot:

That's what I'm thinking, T-Dog is only there to serve one purpose.. to be Merle's revenge.

I think Merle would have a bigger issue with Rick. Rick was the one who actually cuffed him. Guess we'll see.

Any of you think the tyrese character was left off as to not take any of the focus off of rick as the lead male in the series?

It still boggles my mind that such an amazing character was not brought on, especially when the prison arc is where he thrived and played a huge role. I mean they brought michonne on and i'd say tyrese was at least as big a fan favorite.

Well, their willingness to deviate and change things from the comic(in a smart way, mostly) is part of why TWD is great. Plus, it's television. When adapting something like this you have to pick and choose your spots. Short from the crappy pace for most of season 2 in farm-limbo, they've done pretty well to give us riveting television each week.

I've only dabbled in the comic thus far so I don't have any idea who tyrese is short of what people have posted, but maybe they'll use him in a different way down the road. Who knows. Still, it's great.

Well think of a darryl but about 10 times more badass. Clearing an entire room of zeds with just a hammer in the prison. Tyrese was sort of a mirror rick to an extent.

Rick and darryl would have probably never hung out in the real world despite working together now but you could have pictured rick and tyrese being good friends in the real world. They played off each other very well.

It's hard to say whether they will bring him in later just because like i mentioned he's best known form what happened in the prison arc and you sort of have darryl serving the role of what tyrese provided and t-dog hogging up the names that start with t...

Idris alba although unlikely to have accepted, would have been great for the role.

Zombie dogs... zombie birds... lot you can do.

Some diseases do eventually jump species.

Actually, having an attack dog in this setting wouldn't be bad, since dogs are immune.

I'm not really understanding this "Rick is becoming Shane" talk.

That inmate tried to kill Rick twice deliberately without provocation. Anyone in their right mind would kill him.

Shane was insane. Rick is just doing what any sane person would do in that situation.

Not to mention brutally beating "Tiny" to death. It had to be done of course, but his brutal enjoyment of it showed that he couldn't be trusted.

I don't get it either. Rick is reluctantly doing what needs to be done to ensure the safety of the group. His troubled expression after locking the black prisoner outside with the walkers showed he's not indifferent to his own actions.

Shane would have shot them all on sight without a second glance.

The costume and make up people have done an awesome job in making the survivors look grimy and filthy. I could practically smell the BO from them. Especially Rick. Hes got those huge ass pit stains that come down to his midsection. Gross.

As for him being insane or "evil", nah. We all saw what that inmate did to the guy that got scratched by the walker and pushing that other walker onto Rick. Hes got that major alphamale 'tude and hes not going to stand for Rick being the man.
