He looks bad*** as Negan. Such a perfect casting.

Great casting, yes, and I know this is extremely minor, but do hope he shaves the beard at some point. Especially after he mentioned in the finale that he needed to do so.

Well he did say "I gotta shave this s*** off".

The Walking Dead: Norman Reedus says 'the world is completely turned upside down' in season 7

Entertainment Weekly said:
And you thought things were bleak before on The Walking Dead. The introduction of Negan will have an impact beyond the mystery cliffhanger death that will finally be revealed when the show returns on Oct. 23. According to star Norman Reedus, the implementation of Negan’s Law will change everything — and not for the better when it comes to our heroes.

As if all that is not hard enough to deal with, the cast members had to head back to that deepest, darkest place to film the continuation of that controversial cliffhanger scene that we will see in the season premiere.

We chatted with Reedus to get the scoop on filming the rest of that harrowing scene, and what else to expect in season 7.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: I know we’re going to see the continuation of that cliffhanger scene with Negan. So what was it like having to go back and film that and go through all these emotions of losing a cast member all over again?
NORMAN REEDUS:
It was exhausting, and it was no fun. You know, we always come back to this show every season, and we’re like, “Yeah, let’s get back into it!” You know, all the actors are excited to be here and see each other and get back into where they were. But this was one of those where it’s like, “Oh, f—. Here we go.” It was definitely not a joyous reunion. I mean, it was nice to see everybody again, of course, but it wasn’t the same as in previous years.

When you have a cliffhanger like that, you’ve got to deliver on the end result and make it worth the wait. So I guess the next question then becomes: What are you guys delivering with episode 701? What can you say in terms of the season premiere?
I mean, it’s a brand new world right now. It’s a complete change of power. Our whole world has been turned upside down, and that group of people have been fighting to have their feet firmly on the ground and have some sort of direction to live in and some sort of code to live by and moral compass, and they thought they were doing it okay, you know? It was hard, and they had to go through things all the time, but they were on a path, and now that path has been ripped from their feet, and things that they believe in are completely different now. The world is completely turned upside down.

These characters have had to deal with a lot of death all the time, but this one in the comic certainly has a seismic impact. What is this death going to do to the group?
It affects the group completely differently. You know, everyone, it affects them differently. Some relinquish power. Some accept it. Some fight it. There are people questioning it. There are people pointing their fingers. There are people blaming themselves. Other things happen that completely destroy people. The group is completely broken apart at this point. Negan has come in and completely shaken up everything. Loyalties are broken, belief in one another, belief in ourselves. Each individual is completely broken, and they don’t all handle it the exact same way.

We'll see. Reedus tends to overhype certain episodes *cough Season 5 finale cough*. And most of the cast overhyped the Season 6 finale.

Looks like he did:

It would be nice if he added a little bulk as well. He doesn't have the frame to quite match the power slugger build that Negan has in the comics, but he could stand a few clank sessions at the gym.

Yeah that really stood out for me. I'm so used to how he looks in Watchmen and Supernatural so seeing him that "skinny" did not sit right for me.

He looks more like Negan in his older TV/movie appearances. The body types of the characters in TWD comic always reflected how they survived in the new reality. Glenn uses endurance and elusiveness, so he's small and fit. Michonne uses skill and finesse, so she has the body of a wiry sword-wielder. Negan bludgeons zombies and his enemies, so it's only logical that he have the body of a big bully. I still like the JDM casting, but I wasn't aware that he had gotten so slim.

So the Spoiling Dead fanpage updated the character per episode guide

Anyone else going to watch the preview episode

Not that it actually means anything but the latest "it's [character] dies!" theory is based off of some stills showing [blackout]Daryl's bike and coat being posessed by Dwight[/blackout]. Again, that's a wild bit of speculation that can actually mean nothing if you look at the above deeply spoiler tagged list of characters in episodes.

Since it's not a spoiler, and you can clearly see it in that clip, that IS NOT Daryl's bike. Daryl's bike was cobbled together in Aaron's garage, remember.

google image "Daryl Dixon motorcycle" and you can clearly see the one he currently has and the one Dwight has in the clip.

edit. (re-read your post), My post isn't really directed at you, but a lot of people and a couple of news sites are showing that clip and keep referring to that motorcycle as belonging to Daryl.

I haven't been watching the clips or any of that. I don't care but some news reports were citing that as you said so I assumed they actually knew what they were talking about. All I'm waiting for is when the victim's name comes out and I'm done with the show.

It just better be a character who people will care has died.

Seems like it will be. It's been a while since a key character has died on this show.

It has, hasn't it? I think Tyreese was the last major character to die. I didn't really consider the more important Alexandrians (Deanna, Jessie and her kids, etc.) to be major characters.

Even longer since a key character who people cared about died. I don't think Tyreese and Beth were particularly hard hitting or missed.

Hershel is the last one I would say had any real impact.

even with Hershel though... it wasn't that impacting because right before the episode he had his own little 'farewell' type episode... personally i knew it was coming just from that.

The most impactful deaths on this show are the ones that have a great effect on the other characters. I didn't care much for Lori, but her death was a memorable one because of Rick's anguish upon finding out that she was gone. Hershel's death was violent enough as it is, but seeing Maggie and Beth witness that made it even more intense. And seeing Daryl crying as he carried Beth's body out to the others made it even more heartbreaking.

In my opinion, the show has yet to kill a true fan-favorite A-list character like Daryl, Michonne, Glenn or Carol. They still haven't had their "Red Wedding" level death. I'm thinking that may change with the season 7 premiere.

Should've changed that with the season 6 finale. :o

And no, I won't let that go.

Agreed - that was the slowest and most boring finale ever. They could have made up for it but not having this dumb cliffhanger.

Really? Personally I was on the edge of my seat the entire episode. If it weren't for the ending it would have been a near-perfect episode.

Yeah the finale was anything but slow and boring. They were racking up the tension with Rick and Co. slowly being pinned down by Negan's crew. The only let down was being cheated out of seeing who died.
