Lincoln and JDM were one of the few good things left that kept me watching this show, after every next season has been going downhill in quality.

With him leaving, I might be done with the show after Season 9...

Yeah it’s over for me and this show.

That's pretty much the death knell for the show. They can try to stretch it out passed Season 9, but unless there's an unreal upturn in its quality it won't last. I'd rather they just make this the last season, but they're not gonna do that. They're more than likely going to run this ship completely into the ground. Had Carl not been killed off I could see it working, but not as it stands.

They're making Norman Reedus the lead. Daryl has been grunting and mumbling for 5 seasons now. We're in the dumbest timeline.

Can't they just f***ing let it end? They're only going to keep losing more and more viewers.

Yeah, that sounds like the end.

And it sounds like Lincoln and Cohen are only in 6 episodes. So, great planning on making Maggie the next big bad, showrunners.

When the dust from this next season settles, Reedus will probably be the only one wanting to remain on the show if they're prepping him to take the reins.

If the show goes beyond a 9th season, then I think the 10th should be shorter to end it all. 6-10 episode range. Hopefully the 9th is the last, though.

Have not been with this show for a while now but the news about Lincoln drew me back to the forum. It took longer than I thought but I think that Lincoln's departure will be the nail that puts the show to rest.

Surprised he held out as long as he has, considering how repetitive and unimaginative this series got. I guess the pay just couldn't keep him around.

Danai's contract is up at the end of 9, so probably a good chance she won't return either. Could be wrong, but they boosted Reedus salary to 20 million, so either they boost her significantly or, I see her walking too.

This is why you shouldn't have killed off Carl! He could've carried on his fathers legacy as he should!

The walking dead has been losing viewers for a couple seasons now yet it is still one of the most watched shows.

AMC will milk every last dime out this show.

Not if it dips below less than 1 million viewers per episode. It isn't at that point yet but losing Lincoln is putting the show on a collision course towards it. I can see this upcoming season getting a boost for his final episode but once he's gone viewership will fall even faster than it did this past season, mark my words.

My god, you're right about the 20 million...
“Andrew is leaving because he’s had enough of it and wants to focus his energy on movies,” an insider close to Lincoln tells Us. Additionally, a source tells Us exclusively that Lincoln’s costar, Norman Reedus, negotiated a $20 million paycheck to stay on.
This show is a disaster.

Wow, I haven’t enjoyed the last couple of seasons at all, but one of the few things keeping me coming were Lauren as Maggie and Lincoln as Rick, my favourite character on the show so far. With him leaving, and Lauren likely to be, I think I am about done with the show.

Norman Reedus hasn't done sh** for like 3 seasons and he wants $20 million? lol

Good for Lincoln. Eventually this show will turn into the very thing it’s about. A lifeless shell of what it once was.

Damn, I am gonna miss this show a little bit. I've already stopped watching but damn do I miss looking forward to Walking Dead on Sunday nights :csad:

That's really more on the writers than him, unless it was because of his motorcycle show.

I only recently got back into this show after giving up on it after season 1, but Lincoln leaving has just about killed all my interest in continuing (I just started season 7).

What the hell happened with TWD? How can the execs running be so utterly incompetent? I might complain about GoT since they went off the books, but at least they're still delivering what fans want. How can the people at AMC think the decisions they've been making recently are things the audience wants?

I always knew there'd come a time when the show would continue after Lincoln's departure, but the way this is being handled just feels all wrong. Especially when the show has been stumbling and hemorrhaging viewers for so long.
