Does anyone think this movie will be good? Or is anyone excited for this flick? By reading the plot online, the movie takes place in LA, with the Warriors having to get from Long Beach, were the ''metting'' was being held, back to their territory in Venice. The director also had the Bloods and Crips make a truce to do the movie together. So the film will not have real actors, but instead real street gang members. Should be a fun, interesting movie. Anyone agrees?

The movie is in development hell.

I worked at an internship and my boss actually had lunch with one of the producers. My boss actually tried to convince the producer that The Warriors is one of those movies that doesn't need a remake. Not to say that he convinced him, but as you can see, this movie has been talked about for years and nothing has happened.

I think the fun part of the orignal Warriors is that it's this weird 70s fantasy movie with over-the-top gangs. I don't want to see real gangs. I'm sorry. And I think Tony Scott right now isn't on his game anymore, so I'm not expecting too much.

Yeah but online they said the movie scheduled to come out next year? All man I wanted to see this! And it can be remade. It had a cult following, was not mainstream or anything. It was a good movie but still I wanna see this remake.

if it's imdb.com, sometimes they are way off. I mean, sometimes the studios are handling the info, and sometimes they don't. For some movies, for example The Flash or Supermax, they might be in real development, you can't even see their imdb page unless you subscribe to the website's membership. That is usually the sign that a movie is actually getting made.

Oh I see. Well I still hope that this movie gets made. And how was it a fantasy 1970s movie? Stuff like that can happen in real life. Matter of fact it does happen. Street gangs are over the top and some dress stylish.

I think though..that's the point of the Warriors: it was and still is an aquired taste. Then how can you 'mainstream' it, I wonder? By dumbing it down? I mean, it's the evil Dead remake talk..the original movies were cult classics. If they were to remake the first one, then there will compromises to be made, and they made take out the elements that made the original so enduring to its fans.

Well they do not have to dumb it down to make it mainstream. Just still have the hardcore, gritty, edgeness to the movie. But have more violence, blood and gore. I'm talking RAMBO style.

You know the young people like that kind of stuff. And for the older audience, you can have character development too. And a good story. That way both the young and older fans would be happy.

Oh yeah I forget to say that they also will not have any of the original characters except for 1 or 2 people. I guess they will have the rest of the original street gangs, like Ruffs and all them.

okay if they do a remake, i just don't want tony scott. Hell, i would take Ridley Scott anyday. anyday!!

You think Ridley Scott be interested? I like Micheal Bay to do the action scenes only.

Ridley's busy with other projects and please god no Bay.

lol crips and bloods? Reminds me of Colors with Sean Penn and Robert Duvall.

This remake is a horrible idea and removes everything interesting about the original movie. Also, it's going to be ******ed with how much they avoid the fact that the movie should only be five minutes long. Because that's how long it'll take the other gangs to shoot the **** outta the Warriors.

lol crips and bloods? Reminds me of Colors with Sean Penn and Robert Duvall.

That movie was great man how can you laugh at that?

And lol why the movie be 5 minutes long? That be a total waste.

because in the orignal Warriors, nobody used guns.

Wasnt laughing at that movie. Just the idea of doing it in LA with crips and bloods with the idea from the original. But I love colors

because in the orignal Warriors, nobody used guns.
Except the leader of the Rogues.

The thing about The Warriors is that it's not suppose to be taken seriously, hence some of the ridiculous looking gangs. If you add too much realism you take away it's appeal.

Well they can still have stylish, weird looking gangs. Like the Warriors and Baseball Furries. Also they cannot use guns. Cyrus can have it that no gang bring weapons on them to the metting like in the original.

Also the movie being in LA is cool man. LA has violent and tough street gangs too. And has that gritty, edgeness atmosphere that New York City has. And its a big city too as well. Nothing wrong with the guys changing some stuff up its a remake.

why remake this movie, its perfect as its surreal, zaney self. and also taking it away from new york would just take something away from it for me.

Having it in LA is not an issue and remaking it is not a problem either.

What I loved about the original was that the gangs had uniforms, not just colors.

I think a remake with better choreographed scenes and a bit more characterization could work.

The best part of the original was
when they finally made it home and Swan says something like "This is what we fought to come back to?"

To me, that was the point of the movie.

Lol Swan was my favorite character in the original. He was a natural born leader and a badass rebel. But in the reamek the street gangs could have uniforms. I loved them.

The uniforms were awesome. I liked the baseball furries uniforms. I wonder if in the remake they might do a thing like have football street gang.

I dont care if they remake it or move it to LA but the thing is with gang culture being seen as alot "cooler" will they purposely make gangs look ridiculous like in the original
If they do that Im all for it

I think they should make the gangs look silly like in the originals. And gang culture been cool since the mob era.

no thats like Mafia, organized crime, etc.

Im talking about street gangs: Bloods, Crips, Latino Kings, etc.

Oh I see yeah they are more popular now. I think the movie director should of added the Lainto Kings in the movie. Their is still time to add them in.
