BEAST
Season I : Part III
Hank McCoy sat at his desk. The Genetic Enhancement Protocol (G.E.P.)had been his main project since he was young. He had attempted to enhance his own mutation in the past, but it had never gotten past blood tests before he realized that it would degress his evolution, so he had abandoned the project. The last thing he needed was to turn into some ape or something.
So he had continued the project, taking a blood sample from a collegue of his, Moira MacTaggart. He had done countless tests to her DNA, and three days ago he had made a major breakthrough. He had managed to force her DNA into accepting the 24th chromosome, which was responsible for all added abilities in mutants. He had been so excited, he had completely forgotten about the meeting to discuss the attack on Magneto's Sanctuary. All those things were on the side. World domination. Mutant superiority. As far as Hank was concerned, however, they were fighting a war that was going to win itself anyways. The spill gate was open and the water was flowing into the valley. Another fifty years and homo superior would be the dominant race on the planet, and within 150 years, homo sapien would be extinct. But, Charles had been funding his research, so Hank had stayed on board.
As he stared at the computer screen, he noticed that Dr. MagTaggart's DNA was showing signs of wear. The presense of the 24th chromosome was causing damage to the other 23.
"Damn." It wouldn't be long before the DNA completely broke down, meaning that so would her entire body. It wouldn't be long before this particular person would simply melt away.
I'm going to have to reinforce the DNA molecular bonds, Hank thought to himself.
Suddenly, there came a call over his communicator. It was Storm.
"Beast, we have an intruder and need back up."
Damn. No personal time around here. "I'm on my way."
*********************************************
Hank ran down the hall to the Professor's office. Storm met him and the two of them entered the room to find Cyclops and Mystique down on the floor, with Blink and Xavier standing next to each other. On the other side of the room, a small furry man with claws growled.
