SPOILER ALERT: If you haven't read New Avengers 31, and don't want to be spoiled, don't get even NEAR This thread.

Frankly I'm surprised no one else put a thread like this one so far. If you haven't heard by now, Skrulls are littered throughout the Marvel Universe and we don't know who they are, or how long they've been impersonating said heroes and villains. The facts that we know are VERY little. For one, we know at least 1 or more of the Illuminati are Skrulls. We also know there are at least 14 villains who are either skrulls or their skrull impersonators died (as per the revelations of New Avengers 6). We also know that either Jessica Jones or Luke Cage is a Skrull.

So... let's start naming the possible skrulls!!!

a) I think it's quite obvious that Professor Xavier is the Illuminati Skrull. Out of all the secret superhero cabal, Charles is the one that has "died", lost his powers, resurrected, regained his powers, the most. Strategically, the Skrulls could have replaced him just to instantly take over planet Earth's most powerful source of heroes, the X-Men. (let's face it, with people like Storm, Jean Grey, Polaris Cyclops and Havok on the same team, the rest of the world's heroes are nothing compared to them)

b) Mary Jane Watson. No, I'm not crazy. She has "died" in the past and gotten resurrected, hasn't she? this might not be a true indicator, but it's enought to arouse suspicions. Also, it would give Quesada the opportunity to separate her from Spidey, which we all know he wants to do, and there was a very curious line from New Avengers Annual 1 (Isn't this the cutest baby on planet EArth?? Why did she need to make such a distinction??)

c) Storm. ANYONE who has read Black Panther knows that's not Storm. She HAS TO BE a bloody Skrull

NOT SKRULLS:

a) Iron Man. It'd be too obvious. Besides, he could be the only one truly aware of the situation. For one, he didn't mention to the Illuminati what happened in the Savage Land (NA 5-6), and he was kinda pissed because he couldn't tell what Species Yelena Belova truly was (NA Annual 1)

Add to the lists!!

Not really. It's more about *****ing about stuff.

What about Reed? Do you guys think he could be a skrull. Also Sebita, why do you say Storm "has to be a skrull" from reading Black Panther?

Because that thing in Black Panther isn't Storm. The Mischaracterization in that book is so huge it just can't be a mistake. It hast to be someone impersonating her.

How can you tell? Storm has always sucked.

A. I totally agree, although I don't think the X-Men are the worlds most powerful force. Thor alone would kick the hell out of most of them.

B. You're insane. (Sensational Annual, I will say no more)

C. I could see that. But I doubt it.

I think Jessica is the Skrull. Luke has been all about getting to the bottom of things. If he was a Skrull he would have merely concentrated on fighting Tony and dwindling resources and manpower. The other possibility is neither is a Skrull and the baby's been switched.

I know marvel says they have this planned out and they're not just shooting from the hip (which I 50% believe to be true), but my big question is when the switches have been made. Some could be very recent and some could happen during the event itself.

Who's the Skrull spy on the mighty team? I'm betting Wonder Man. No reason other than how weak he's seemed recently.

i thought maybe blackbolt could be a skrull....he shouldnt have his ass handed to him that easy...his voice can shatter cities!

as far as a new avengers skrull...my guess would be...luke cage.

jess could also be one yet too..the b*stards!!

Where was it said that one of the Illuminati would be a Skrull?

And I doubt this Skrull thing is really going to lead to such drastic things as 'MJ is a Skrull!'

If MJ turns out to be a Skrull, then that means the Skrulls have chosen to use one of their already dwindling number of warriors to replace the wife of a third rate (in terms of power) threat to their plans.

There's nothing that could make that make sense to me.

While I agree MJ is no Skrull I don't agree with your reasoning. The Skrulls are obviously planning to take over earth. They've sent their spies to take over key people to disrupt and cause chaos. It's not about the power levels it's about the people. Pete isn't very powerful in terms of Hulk or that stupid drug addict but he knows a lot of key players and his opinions matter. They took over Elecktra and she's not very powerful at all but by using her background they took the Japanese underworld. I don't think they'll go after the powerful directly but indirectly by disrupting people like Pete, Tony, Luke, Reed and the like.

The only way that they could make that work would be if an MJ skrull was a spy used to get in the Avengers. But there are far better ways to do that if that was there goal, i.e. the Cage baby.

Yeah, but Peter's a nobody. It just wouldn't make a lick of sense. Instead of replacing random people to try and make a tiny blip of disruption (i.e. MJ), why not pool what little reources they have left and go after someone big like Tony?

I don't know. I've already got it figured out that Luke's a Skrull. The rest, I haven't narrowed down yet.

But he knows everybody. Is there anyone he hasn't fought then teamed up with in the MU? He doesn't control but I could see the logic behind wanting a spy that everyone knows and trusts to some extent. Not to mention he's currently a national celebrity. I don't think it's so, but I see a logic in it. Let me put it this way, if Pete came up to Reed and said "Reed I can't let you question why but I need a weapon capable of taking out someone with a massive power level, I just need you to trust me" I think Reed would do it. If he went up to any NA and said they had to meet at a certian place at a certian time they would probably do it too. If I wanted to take out a large group that's how I'd do it. They're used to powerful threats not the little ones that can hurt the most.

I don't think they want Tony out. I think he's playing into their hands. Getting the info on every metahuman in the world while actually going after the people who are trying to find out the truth? Why would they want to alter any of Tony's current actions? He's practically doing their jobs for them.

Why do you think Luke's definately the Skrull? I'm curious cause after the whole speech about getting who's really behind this (a concept everyone else seems to have forgotten) he rallied them back to that point. Doesn't seem something the Skrulls want everyone investigating too much. What are you thoughts?

I don't trust Bendis.

i hope not. i want to see the real reed get turned into jelly. Not some lame skrull P.O.S.

Well damn! I really like the Luke and Jessica marriage (and their little baby girl!), and now one of them is going to be a Skrull?!? GRRRRRRRR!!!

(I don't suppose Bendis or somebody will use this as an opportunity to bring back Johnny Storm's Skrull wife?)

this might be a good time for marvel to steal the superboy prime story line and reset reality.
just have sentry do it after he whoops hulk

Reposted from another thread:

Also, I'm willing to put money on Luke turning out to be a Skrull. He's so quick to bring up how weird and ****ed up everything is everytime there's a break in the action. I have to wonder if that's not a Skrull tactic to further the mistrust and get the rest of team questioning everything, i.e. themselves. It also puts him in the position of being the guy who you actually can trust, since he seems to be the one most driven to "getting to the bottom of things". And once you get a group of people that can't trust each other to trust you, well...you can lead them anywhere. Luke's a Skrull.

Bendis has the biggest hard on for Cage. He's not a Skrull.

no one wants their fav to be a skrull. i see this argument going on for quite a while.
maybe hulk is a skrull and that is how WWH will end. who knows dumber things have happened.
