Earlier:
As Kara drifted near death and Kal flew her to the fortress, memories and flashes burned through Kara's unconscious.
She remembered landing on Earth. Not once but twice. Once in a field near Smallville. Once in the harbor near Gotham.
She remembered her parents, Alura and Zor-El and her home of Argo City.
She remembered witnessing the destruction of her planet. Not once, but twice. Once in a rocket on a chunk of the dieing planet. Once in her home under the Dome of Argo City.
She remembered being given her costume. Once sewn by her own mother using their family crest so her cousin would know her. Once by her "Aunt" after she had proven her worth.
She remembered living on an island, but also growing up in an orphanage.
She remembered the names Fred and Edna Danvers. They seemed that they meant something to her.
She remembered picking the name Linda Lee for herself, not once but twice.
She remembered fighting villains for years that had not yet come.
She remembered fighting alongside the Legion of Superheroes one thousand years in the future.
She remembered... Querl and how he had loved her.
The most prominent memories to appear though, were of two fights.
She remembered sacrificing herself for her cousin, and her hero, not once but... twice? She foggily recalled fighting in some wierd place where her powers didn't work to their fullest, and destroying something that was threatening... everything? She remembered the last words she ever spoke to Kal.
"C'mon Kara. Don't give up. Pl..Please... Stay with us.
"I... I can't. B... but it's okay... I knew what I was doing... I wanted... you to be safe... You mean so much to me... So much to the world."
"Y-you succeeded in destroying the machines."
"Thank Heaven... the worlds... have a chance to live. Y-you're crying... Please don't. You taught me to be brave.. and I was... I... I love you so much for what you are. For how... good you are......"
But they weren't her last words were they? She remembered dieing. But she didn't did she? Was she dead?
As these... memories? Is that really what they were? As they flashed through her mind a name came to her. One she had often heard in passing but someone she had yet to meet. Donna. Donna Troy. Maybe she could help figure this out.
Time had passed and the salve that Diana had applied began to work, the bruises and cuts began to heal and Kara drifted back out of her dream world. As she opened her eyes she recognized her surroundings. The first part of her life on Earth had been spent here. Had it though? Or had it been spent in Midvale Orphanage? She was in the Fortress. She saw her cousin. He wasn't wearing the black sacrilige he had been.
