The "World of Heroes" DC RPG Season IV Signup/OOC Thread

I've noticed this ever since I started in this RPG; my structure in the IC thread. I use a way different kind of set up...does it bother anyone? I always wondered about doing it the other way but I just never have.

*peeks from behind curtain*

Has it been discussed to death? Is it time for me to take center stage?

This is how it's going to be:

Existing players reapplying for the same character(s) they played in the previous season can simple copy and paste and link to a previous post of that character. This applies only if it is for the consecutive season, or the same consecutive character.
If they are applying for a new character the player needs to write a sample post for the character they are applying for. If they are returning to an old character after switching to a new character a new sample post will be written.

All new players will need to submit sample posts of the character they are applying for.

When applying for a Second Character the player needs to submit a sample post for that specific character.

If we're going to crack down to get good players then the players need to be good with the characters they are applying for. If the sample post is seen to be out of character, a different character will be suggested or advice will be given to achieve the proper characterization of the character in question.

If farther down the road this does not improve the quality of the RPG the GM's hold the right to retract this 'rule'.

This will be included on the first post of the new season.

Thank you.

So...it is going to be like we have been saying it should lol. We were never trying to make it unfair! :O

I hope it's a compromise that suits everyone.

I know SF is gonna kill me..so if you hear about a girl murdered in her sleep tonight....it's me. :(

No, it is a compromise.

I don't want any gloating about how I sided with one side or the other. Because I didn't, I would have let SF and the other GM's settle it had certain circumstances not arisen.

Then vengence shall be MINE!!!
...and whoever else wants to join in the SF manhunt.

That solution makes perfect sense to me. It wasn't going to kill me either way. I actually thought of an idea for a sample post (damn you Harl, making me think and such! :O ). But I'd rather use it for the first post of the season, I think it'll work better that way.

I never hated the overall idea...I just did not see how it was unfair for people sticking with their characters to not have to make a sample post.

I wasn't saying you were choosing sides Twy. Only a few things of what you said were things some of us said on 'our side' I guess but I was thinking the other stuff.

I never meant to make it to our advantage for sticking with our characters...I just found it ridiculous we would have had to do that...no matter how easy or hard the task would be.

I have one question.
Has Topeka been destroyed yet in the RPG?
It's kind of important to my character if it has or hasn't.

The only thing I'd suggest is not quoting your previous post. But that's only because they tend to be large. There's nothing wrong with large posts, but putting two large posts together just make it really big, IMO.

The good thing about it, though, is that it makes it feel like an old movie serial (or maybe one of those multipart adventures Detective Comics has at the back of the book). Almost like each post is a chapter rather than a post that continues the story.

Wow you actually get it. My set up is supposed to make you feel that way.

Think about it being an actually comic; each several amount of posts are like comic arcs and each post is like an issue. The titles also mean something about each story like a comic book does; if you notice the titles change and for a reason (like if a new arc or series started).

Well done, wiegeabo.

I explained this to someone before...I forget who. :O

So I guess you don't wanna use the skycycle I made for you Twy. I understand. I'll not waste anymore ring energy on you. Humph.

I think I have one or two posts left with Batgirl for the season.

That is what I thought and said with Jason....like 7 posts ago. :O

Watch you might get more ideas popped into your head and make more. :)

I know, that usually happens with me, but I got some stuff planned with Red X for next season, so I want Batgirl to end with her getting off the plane, looking around Bludhaven.

Ditto, while mowing my aunt's lawn I actually came up with a great personal arc for Roy and maybe MB if he wants to join in on it.

Alright, I won't. OH!

Go to your user CP, and then to "Options" and at the bottom change the forum skin to the classic view...it's awesome! SOO Retro! ^_^

Also honey..why don't you have an avatar and what's with the title?

I haven't had an avatar for a while. Since I got pissed off one day and decided I didn't need a cute furry creature smiling at me all the time. I just haven't put it back yet.
