Nope, I recieved no prior warning. But then again I believe Twy thought I had left the RPG due to my lack of posting and so assumed I didn't need a warning.
No. That is not why last season was almost ruined.
LT do me a favor and stop using people as example as to how great you are. We get it, you post everyday. Im not making excuses for myself, but my priority is to my life outside this RPG first.
As for following the rules, I can recall several times you have wanted to "bend them" to suit your story.
All right, X, you want my honne, you've got it. You have been asking for this for a bit, so's I might as well give it to you.
Late posting is a detriment to the RPG. That's why there's the two week rule. That's why I gave up Superman when I went to Japan, as I didn't think I could manage the posting to do it. You'll note I didn't apply for another character until I was sure I could handle the amount of posting I needed to do. Hell, for three months, I kept Darkseid in as self-contained an arc as possible, only interacting with byrd_man after we'd hashed out some stuff and gotten it organized. Even dealing with the pressures of living and working in Japan, I managed at least one post every two weeks.
That's why I get so pissed ff when other people, playing far more important characters than mine, get a free pass when they go over the limit on posting. One post every cuple of weeks
is not that difficult. Unless we're talking crunch time on a piece of software that'll be out the door in a month, you're going to have a little bit of free time for the RPG.
And what really goads me is that, oftentimes, I see a huge gap in posting when other players have arcs that are dependent on late posters
doing something. That is unforgivable, in my eyes. If there's an arc going on, and someone is relying on you to post, then you'd better damn well post. If you don't want to get in an arc with someone, then don't do it, and if you can't fulfill your obligation, then the polite thing is to PM the other people involved in your arc and allow them to bunny you. Leaving people hanging for a month or so at a time is just being an enormous dick about it.
And X, since you want to get serious, you've got me serious. This never was about me. Yes, I post a lot, because several people are involved in my arc and waiting, say, three weeks to post would screw them over. This is, and always was, about the RPG as a whole. Good storytelling is, among other things, punctual. Do you want me to make a short list of comic events hurt and even killed because of delays? Delays kill momentum in any ongoing story, so if you or anyone else thinks they can't post for a month or so, then tell evreyone and make sure people involved in your arcs know and can bunny you through the arc.
The point is, it's not that damned hard to be punctual, to be on time. Don't give me any crap about "oh man , school is so hard, I don't have any time." Bull. With 6 hours of classes a day, two papers due every week, and having to memorize 40-60 Kanji a week, I could still post. I post during finals weeks and midterm weeks, and I know just how difficult school can get. Unless you're really just a supremely lazy arse, you can find forty five minutes to write up a post, get some pictures up, and post it.
There, you wanted the truth, you got it. And if you want to continue this little spat, please feel free to have a go at me, X, since I know you can't refute my points any other way.
