Other than letting you know that Barricade doesn't even show up for the final climactic battle (he really does just disappear with no explanation), it's not spoiling anything, I don't think.

In fact, it's kind of an anti-spoiler.

DC RPG Season V Application

Screen Name: Oh Snap!

Character you would like to play: Green Lantern/Guy Gardner

Powers: One of the single most powerful weapons in the universe, a green lantern power ring; it allows him to fly, create constructs, energy projection and SO much more.

Group your character is aligned with (if applicable): GLC, Justice League

Three reasons why you have chosen that character:

1) Guy Gardner is basically my comic self, if there was any character more fitting I would apply for them, but there just isn't. He and I have several similarities, we are both pretty hot-headed but with the best of intentions at heart, I think I can build upon these similiarties and hopefully they will help me to write a very well characterized Guy.

2) He really is 'The Man' in the Green Lantern Corps, Hal's boring and left quite disgraced after the whole Parallax thing, John Stewart's boring and come on.. it's John Stewart, who could really see him leading the GLC? And Kyle doesn't have half the experience Guy does, Ion or not. He definetly isn't perfect and he's probably broke every rule in the book, but there's not a better man out there to spearhead the GLC (He's not #1 on the Honor Guard for nothing, after all).

3) I get to act like a total jerk to everybody and get away with it, sure he gets punched in the face alot more than you'd think for someone with such a powerful weapon; but atleast he has fun doing it, he has rivalries with pretty much everyone because of how damned out-spoken he is. He's sexist, arrogant and a goddamned perv, but does that stop him from being awesome? Hell no, it makes him even more awesome.

Write two complete sentences using proper English grammar explaining what you plan to do with the character you've chosen (i.e. What are your goals? Will you be doing anything different with the character than is usually seen?): I don't actually have many plans yet, if I'm being dreadfully honest, but I definetly intend to make sure Guy's a much larger player that he is at the moment. I also hope to show some people how awesome Gardner really is, not just some B list Lantern which some people seem to think.

How many times do you intend on posting a DAY IN the RPG: As many as the story needs, be that 1 or 10.

Color and font you plan on using for your characters speech (Might not be applicable but it makes the roster pretty): Thought, Speech

How did you find out about this game, Recruitment thread/word of post/seeing the RPG OOC/IC thread? I post over in the Marvel RPG, thought I'd have a look at the DC RPG.

Sometimes I amaze myself, how the hell do I manage to get myself into these situations? Once again I find myself surrounded by a bunch of 'poozers' as Killowog would say, but I sure as hell ain't going down without a fight; these scum just ruined my dinner.. and they definetly aren't getting away with that without a few cuts and bruises. I reach for my power battery and start to recite the oath that I know off by heart, that every Lantern knows.

"In brightest day, in blackest night,
no evil shall escape my sight!
Let those who worship evil's might,
beware my pow-"

One of them tag me with an energy blast to my shoulder, I fall to my knees and roar in anger, jumping to my feet quickly.

"Screw it, you want a piece of me? Come and get some!"

These bastards'll regret the day they messed with me, if I let them live that is. I hit one of them in the face with a well placed kick, blood pours everywhere and I grab him, using him as a human shield and firing his gun at all his companions. They all fall to the floor and I drop the long dead reptile to the floor, looking down at my shirt as I do so.

"Crap.. this was a new shirt you jerk"

I reach into one of his pockets and pull out a few shiny looking jewels.. they should pay for the shirt, not to mention the dinner they ruined. As I start to walk away I hear a shuffling behind me, one of them jerks is still concious?!

"You'll die for this, Lantern!"

I laugh and walk over to him, kicking him in the face and knee-ling down, rolling up my sleeves and play-fully punching him in the face.

"If only I had a dime for every time one of you punks said that.."

Heh.. I act pissed, but I live for this, after all.. if I wasn't I wouldn't be:

Oh, also, Hal and Kilowog are training the GLC, but after Hal leaves for Earth, Guy can take over as Senior Trainer...

Well, John Stewart is an Earth GL, and is in charge of Earth as is Guy and Kyle, but we can flipflop duties around and such... but right now, Hal and Kilowog are training the new recruits...

Sinestro currently uses Guy's old Lantern to charge his ring, which Guy still isn't too happy about, even though the Guardian's gave him a new one.

Previously, the Unity had altered Guy's ring so it ran on something else besides willpower. I can't remember what, though. But now, I think Guy was back to being a normal Lantern.
