Someone hasn't read any Fourth World stuff, have they?

Look at the comics, after Infinite Crisis Hector Hall is no longer Dr.Fate and the helm is awaiting a new host. What is the problem with doing that here?
Actually don't answer that, because I could really care less what you have to say anymore. Fate was accepted, that's all I needed. So whenever you see one of my Dr.Fate posts, keep the comments to yourself.

Please pay close attention and read everything.
This was my Ruling which I posted last week in the Season IV OOC thread:
From what you've told me you are in essence 'creating' a character to play from their POV.
That is the issue isn't it?
To an extent a certain amount of creative license is needed to evolve the RPG. This evolution propels it forward, not just in the gameplay it's self but also in the actual story telling. I totally agree with that, however as gamemaster I have to look past my own ideas and take into account what the players have expressed without going to drastic measures to decide.
This RPG was started with the purpose to be a place to create stories for mainstream DC Comics, over time the ‘rules’ have changed as have the ideas, but we’ve always kept the arcs and the characterizations in the RPG as close to the source as we could while still moving forward. What we are feeling now is the extreme growing pains of an RPG that has not changed and shifted as much as the comics it was based off of. Many people are trying to stretch their wings within it, without hindering other players characters or ideas that have not yet reached the level of wanting drastic changes.
The majority of the players keep their characters very close to the source from which they come or had come not very many changes were made. For the few who did want change and the ability to play around with alternative ideas the One Universe RPG, The Ultimate DC RPG and the Multiverse RPG were created to satiate the desires of those few ready to take a leap into new character development.
On a personal level, I am more than willing to consider it further and perhaps even approve it, given the very negative feedback it has received. However, because of the large amount of backlash the idea has received I do not think that at this time it’s not conducive to stretch the RPG farther along in its continuing evolution by going the route of self-created characters taking center stage or taking on the mantle of an already established character.
This is not only a upholding of the ‘rules’ we’ve all inherited from the beginning of this RPG, but also a reflection of the present mentality of the players within the RPG. This RPG is simply not ready for that leap yet, it is not yet treated as it’s own DC Comics continuity, merely it is treated as an almost completely enclosed extension of the DC Comics universe. A gifting of the present characters within the present DCU, nothing more and nothing less. In the future I truly hope we can move
This is not meant to constrain you as at this present time I have, of my own, a player-created character I am using as a plot device. However she will not be taking on the mantle of any established character, nor will she be a primary character, rather just an NPC. The line is this; no player-created characters may be allowed as primary characters, merely as supporting cast and plot devices. If at any time concern is expressed over a particular player created it will be reviewed then and a decision will be made, if it involves a GM, the decision will naturally be decided by the other GM’s with no favoritism showed.
Purple Man I hope for you I have made the right decision and explained myself. If not feel free to ask questions. For everyone else I’d like to consider this matter closed. No comments please towards Purple Man about the matter.
________
The following is what I have decided on tonight, with the knowledge of what SF has done.
Many of the players in this game are unhappy with your undying need to constantly push and bend the rules. Without voting I generally listen to the majority and go with what they say. I treat this RPG more as an informal democracy than anything esel because it was almost literally created by the players. This said, it's come to my attention that SuperFerret was accepted as Jonn, however his posts will be from a fourth person point of view from a character he created.
I will allow your story to go through with the following provisions, please pay attention.
If you do NOT accept them as they stand you will NOT be allowed to do the arc.
Should I or any of the other GM's at any point feel as if you are going to far, and changing the in game universe to much, we will ask you to pull back on your story.
1. The emphisis will be on Hector. I know you'll have to change your arc to fit this but it fits with what we're allowing SF to do. Since we are allowing something similar to SF you will follow the pattern he has set down. Make the emphisis on Hector as the main character with your character being nothing more than a plot point. Once the arc you have planned is over your character will cease to exist in gam and will NOT be allowed to resurface at any point.
2. You will keep your arc isolated from the rest of the arcs in the RPG.
3. You will not draw in un-neccesary NPC. By this I mean none. If you want some you'll have to ask us first.
4. The GM's hold the power at any point to comment on your arc and ask you to change it if they feel it's effecting the RPG. However, to prevent prejudice, it must be agreed on by two AGM's and be brought to myself before we come to you.
We are keeping you on a short leash because of the delicate nature of this idea of yours. I do not want to cause a riot within the players. So please follow the provisions.

I seriously don't think that is fair, but I guess I will shut my mouth in fear of getting reported.![]()
