The "World of Heroes" DC RPG Season V Signup/OOC Thread

I only pointed that out byrd_man because there are certain things Monks can and cannot do. And swearing is one of those things they cannot do.

Also, if you read any Green Arrow stuff you would see that Connor isn't like that anyway. I think it's funny cause every now and then people keep thinking he is gay because of how he acts compared to Ollie and Roy.

Yeah, I've never had the chance to pick up any on Connor's stuff. Looks like it's eBay for me.

Aww man, ok look, first thing's first: look up what you can on the internet. Wikipedia it, and search for other info...

then go to your nearest bookstore, go to the Graphic Novels section, and read up FOR FREE... it's great, I know...

No Connor in my bookstore. :csad: Every time I look and all they have is Ollie and Roy's stuff.
 
Yeah dude, look up JLA: American Dreams, or any odf the GReen Arrow tpb's... Connor's almost always there...
 
Err, so we have Barry and Bart and Wally and Jay... I got bold red, and hopefully everyone else has their own colors coordinated...

Am I the only one who thinks it's a little odd to approve someone for a character who admits to having read slim to nothing of that character? C'mon, dude, your sample didn't represent Connor in anyway, and I believe that's exactly why they implemented them. To let the player show they know the character. I say come back when you've actually read some more on Connor, but that's just me.
 
Ah, don't be so hasty to crush his hopes. If I only played characters I knew, I wouldn't be in this game. It's obvious that byrd wants to be like me with all this character switching, so why not see if he can fake it as well?
 
Fine, I'm done with Connor. Even though I never planned to actually post as Connor until I picked up his stories and TPB's off the Internet and other places. Congrats on showing me a thing or two. :up:
 
Nah you don't gotta completely drop him. I was only agreeing that until you had a better grasp, should you be accepted. You said you would read up some stuff on him and such but I had no clue you were accepted. I talked about picking up Aquaman shortly after SF dropped him, and have him reserved so I had time to read all up on him that I needed to and I did. Then I applied and provided the sample post since that's the most challenging part; the sample post.

I thought that post MasterBruce replied to was a joke cause you were talking about kicking you in the knee or something. I thought you were going to post a new app when you knew more or a new sample post is all. But when I heard you were accepted from Harlekin, that's when I was like "something ain't right". You don't gotta drop him though. You said you would read up some stuff so just do so.
 
Naah, it's okay. I'll just stick with Bart for now. Atleast I'm doing him right......right?

That was not my intention. I however do not see the use of applying for a character you don't know really well... yet. I just wanted to point that out.

Harl, along that same line, am I the only one who think's its a bit odd that someone not playing in the RPG is dishing out advice about it in the RPG OOC thread? If you'd been playing, or reading more you'd know that Byrd does his homework on all his characters.
Not telling you to shut-up or get out, I'm just saying. ;) Plank and splinter...


I'm not going to talk Byrd into keeping Connor, it's his choice and if he wants to play him he'll make the effort. But no one is stopping him either. :)

Thanks, Twy. I wondered that about Harl as well....oh well. Naah it's okay about Connor. I won't be playing him I been meaning to cut down on my RPGing cause my life's gonna be hectic this summer. I'll just focus on Bart at the time and do the best I can with him.
 
So because I'm not playing in this RPG right now, my opinion is somehow less? I've always been a meaningful contributor to this game. I know byrd's a good RP'er, but y'know, if he doesn't do the homework before applying, I don't see much sense in that. That topic's covered anyway. I do kind of take offense to the whole "you're not RP'ing right now so you can't advise". That's like saying I can't give pointers on anatomy to an artist, because I draw like ****.
 
And in all honesty I was a big trigger happy with Harl >.<

It's just I've been catching up on the Rick Olney thing and it's driving my up a wall.

No, I'm just pointing out that I signed up as Ms. Marvel before I did research on her, and I think I'm doing a good job with her.

And, from my own experience, if you're not playing in the RPG your opinion is worth the toilet paper you use. :o :p However, you're a male and we've never treated you like that. :) And I'd never make you feel that way.

My issue is that because of what you said, you basically turned a player off of an interest they had. Something that had you been a more integrated part of the RPG you might not have said.

We do value your opinion, and we appreciate it. I already apologized for coming down hard on you.
