The 'World of Heroes: DC Style" RPG Season II

OOC: but it's not odd for Wally to brutalize men?
OOC: Yup...I dunno. I have weird standards. I have no problem seeing a girl in a fight with another guy, in fact I've seen some pretty one sided fights where the girl beats the **** out of the guy, but when she's beaten beyond recognition you know, it's a different case imo.

Black Adam looked down at Mid-Nite. "Do you have a plan," he asked, "or should I simply beat them into submission?"

With that, Black Adam took off and swung at Max Mercury, hoping that he might be able to take him out of the fight early. Unfortunately, Max was too fast for him; he disappeared in a burst of speed not even Adam could track.

Adam changed his focus to the Rival, who was more his speed. The Rival managed to stay just out of reach, so Black Adam decided a trap would be in order. He kept an eye on the Rival and plotted his path. He then punched the ground with all his strength, causing a tremor that ripped straight towards Rival. As Black Adam predicted, the Rival was forced to make a quick turn to the right because he was walled in by buildings on the left. Just as he turned, Adam flew forward with all of his speed and collided with the Rival. He grabbed the villain and spun through the air, using his momentum to sling the Rival straight into a building. The Rival's Speed Force aura protected him, of course, but the moment he was back on his feet, he found Black Adam waiting for him. The Rival tried to run, but without his earlier lead he and Black Adam were the same speed. Adam caught him and, a few well-placed punches later, the Rival was down for the count and buried under a few tons of well-placed rubble. Minimal damage to the man himself, but he still wouldn't be going very far if he managed to wake up.

Black Adam looked around for his second target. He couldn't see Max anywhere. He had heard of the speedster--supposedly a legendary speedster from the past who somehow jumped through the years to the present. He was also said to know more tricks with the Speed Force than most other speedsters, one of which included stealing speed. Black Adam was starting to believe it. For Max to be moving faster than he could even see, he had to be taking some of Adam's own speed and adding it to his own... but Adam's thoughts couldn't stay on their present course for long because Max's fist slammed across his chin so fast the friction left his skin hot. He knew Max couldn't do too much damage to him--at least, not as much as Adam could do to Max--but he still couldn't see Max. He flew down to Mid-Nite to tell him.

"I have defeated the Rival, but Mercury is posing a bigger problem. Whatever your--" Black Adam was cut off by another 3 punches from Max, this time to his midsection. Adam swung his fist in front of him but only connected with air. "Whatever your business with Sorrow, get it done quickly. I don't know how much longer I can hold him off!"

I walked up to Sorrow and tried to talk him out of whatever he was planning. He knew he was powerless agianst me. I brought up some... painful memories. I asked about his Wife. About Sand. About the Subtle Realms. I told him that I held all the cards, and that his fate rested with me... He fell to his knees, desperately thinking of some course of action that would salvage the expedition. While he was panicking, I kicked him in the ribs and demanded information on the brainwashing. It turns out that it was just a new power he had discovered, an extention of his... charismatic personality. If I took him out of commission, they would be freed, and he wouldn't be able to regain control unless they were close to him. I grabbed Sorrow, and asked Adam what to do with Max Mercury...

I watch John leave the Watchtower to Earth. I'm slightly worried now, for if his Amazo armor breaks and let's Amazo escape, there's no telling how much damage he could cause. Actually, there is, but I just don't really want to think about it. I'm a realist, not a pesimest.

I walk to the communications room so I can contact Clark. If my theory is correct, then the one place that he can't break out of could be...The Phantom Zone. I'll need to contact Clark before I acess his Fortress. I can get in there just fine, but I like to keep at least a grugable respect for him, so I'll ask first.

It's then when I notice the crowd near it. Oliver, Ralph, and J'onn standing next to a knelling Wally with Hawk and Dove knocked out on the floor.

"What's going on?"

Now that Sorrow was out of the picture, Black Adam could use Mid-Nite's help against Max. He knew that the speedster's aura would not protect him from his magic lightning, but there was one problem with that plan: Theo Adam.

"I believe I can move fast enough to keep up with him for at least a little while. Long enough to hit him with the magic lightning, but that will turn me into Theo Adam. I need you to make him turn back into me. He won't want to now that he's no longer in control of my body, but he has to. Force him to, if you must."

Black Adam waited for Max to strike next. When he felt a jab hit him in the ribs, he knew he had to push himself further than he ever had before. Straining against Max's speed stealing, Adam managed to grab Max's fist as he threw another punch. Before Max could pull free, Black Adam yelled "SHAZAM!" and a bolt of magic lightning cut through the sky, turned Black Adam into Theo Adam, and knocked Max out.

Theo Adam fell to hard pavement with a grunt. "Wh--where am I? What's happening? Somebody help me! I gotta get out of here!" Theo struggled to his feet and began to run in a panic.

I leaped into action and forced Theo to the ground. I told him to say SHAZAM. It took a while before he started to listen, and I had to threaten to unmask Johnny Sorrow, but I got him to say it, quickly getting out of the way before the lightning hit him.

Bane walked up and down the streets, searching for the cursed Batman. It was surely the fact that he was scared. Bane had more time than Batman, and Bane wouldnt' stop looking until he found Batman.

OOC: I thought that happened already.
OOC: Nope. The only mention of it that I can remember that even hinted at a real funeral was when you were Riddler and planted a note on her coffin.

And to everyone else: I can't post a lengthy character post now, but I will post a couple later tonight.

Black Adam stood in the center of a charred patch of land after the lightning cleared. "Thank you, Dr. Mid-Nite. Now that I am once again in possession of my body and you have what you need, I trust our association is at an end?"

The Parasite was sitting patiently in the Bentley, contemplating whether or not he should simply kill Red Hood right there, but the man did seem to have issues against both Superman and Batman. As much as Rudy hated the heroes, he had to admit that even he didn't have the ability to be in two places at once. Two heads are better than one.

"We have arrived."

I parked in a alley and got out and waited for my partner in crime. He got out and I sealed the locks.

Wayne Enterprises a perfect place to wait.

"What's going on?"
-Martian Manhunter-"...Wally's wife Linda was murdered."
-Green Arrow-"We don't know who did it."
*I finally get up, voice still trembling*
-Flash-"No! Zoom! F**king Zoom did this! I know it for a fact!"
-Green Arrow-"How?"
-Flash-"I...I just do. I don't have proof but I know it's him. I can feel it. He's the only one that would do something like this."
-Martian Manhunter-"What if you are wrong Wally? You could be going after an innocent person."
-Flash-"Let's get one thing straight: Zoom is anything but innocent! I know he did it because that is something he would do. I fought him back on Oa and I-I was winning. I guess that suprised him and he took the easy way out. I thought he was just scared but what he was really doing was getting back at me...This is my fault...This is all my fault."

*Ralph puts his hand on my shoulder*
-Elongated Man-"...There was no way that you could have known man. Don't blame yourself. This is all on Zoom's head."
*...He's right*
-Flash-"...Right...I'm going to find him and make him pay."
-Elongated Man-"You've got my support."
-Martian Manhunter-"Mine as well."
-Flash-"...Thank you...But this is something that I have to do on my own."
-Martian Manhunter-"How are you going to find him?"
*...crap. Got me there*
-Flash-"...I...I'll figure something out."
-Martian Manhunter-"That will take too long. You need our help more than you think."
-Flash-"...Okay."
*Doesn't matter to me. The faster I get to Zoom, the better.*

OOC: Feel free to edit and interject DarkKnight

EDIT: Oh crap. Didn't notice the probationary ban. That sucks man.

"His apartment or his work place?"
OOC: Are we in Metropolis? Wasn't Superman heading to Gotham?

Harvey Dent was in the District Attorney's office. It had been a long time since he'd last worked here, and he felt incredibly lucky that Gotham had placed their trust in him to be DA once again, in spite of all he had done.

Harvey walked over to the mirror in his office. it felt great being able to look in the mirror again. He still couldn't believe that the surgery had been a success. He was Harvey Dent again. Two-Face was gone, once and for all...

"You'll never get rid of me, Dent!"

Harvey's blood ran cold. He was here.

"Shut up! You're dead - DEAD!"

"No, I'm very much alive. Just because you changed your face ,doesn't mean I'm not still alive - inside..."

"Go away..." Harvey sobbed, "Why won't you leave me alone."

"Look at you, cryin' like a baby! This is why I'm not going anywhere. You need me, you snivelin' little wimp!"

"No, I don't need you, not anymore. I'm the District Attorney now, I can finally help Gotham City."

"Help Gotham City? Don't make me laugh. Were gonna use the resources we now have to arrest your underworld rivals, leavin' us free to rule over all organised crime in the city!"

"We're doing it for the greater good! If I run all crime in Gotham - there will be no more gang wars causing innocent bloodshed. Gotham will be a safer place."

"Don't give me that crap, Dent! You're doing this for power, for greed, for US! If you wanted to make Gotham City safer, would you have had The Joker broken out of Arkham Asylum?"

"That was your idea, not mine! I was against it from the start. the Joker is...a monster! You said releasing him would keep Batman busy, off our trail..."

"Trust me, it will. Soon, all those other crimelords will be behind bars, and we will have all their power."

"And Gotham will be safer. A means to an end, it's all a means to an end..."

"Mr Dent?" shouted his secretary, Betty, "Is someone in there with you?"

"No, Betty, it's fine," called Dent, "I'm jsut...erm...practising my opening statement for tomorrow."

Harvey Dent sat down at his desk, placing his head in his hands. For years now, Two-Face had been the dominant personality. Harvey Dent had just been a voice trapped within. but now, it was Harvey who had control. but Two-Face was still there, gnawing away inside.

This was all wrong. He wasn't ready for the responsibility of being the DA. It was too much, too soon. Maybe it would be better if he resigned, for now at least. It wasn't too late to just walk away from this plan. But did he really want to give everything up, after he'd come so far?

He couldn't decide. He was going to need help. Slowly, Dent reached into his pocket. He shivered with fear as he took out his coin. his father's coin. normal on one side, scarred on the other. Just like he used to be.

He flipped it. It landed scarred side up.

"I win, Dent. I always win in the end..."

"Yeah, sure. Never see you again, I guess."
"For your sake, I hope so." Black Adam flew off. In a few hours, he returned to Khandaq. Terror filled his head as he got closer. The capitol city was in ruins and the corpses of Feitherans littered the streets. He flew into the palace and found Northwind dead on the floor. Someone had brought ruin to his country in his absence again! But this time it was not his duty to his king that kept him away--it was the JSA who lured him away.

"It makes no sense," Black Adam thought. "The JSA had no reason to destroy my home." Another thought occurred to him: his own people could never have overpowered the trained, battle-hardened Feitherans. But his thoughts were cut short as a rock bounced off his back. He turned to find a group of his own people pelting him with stones and anything else they could get their hands on. Black Adam's look of surprise twisted into a scowl as events began to take shape in his mind. He had been aware that the JSA and Earth's other heroes posed a threat to his liberation effort, but he never thought they would stoop to such lows. It seemed that Mid-Nite had lured him away, allowing the heroes to kill the Feitherans and overthrow his government, plunging the country into anarchy. That, in turn, made his people believe that he had abandoned them, thus turning them against him.

Black Adam streaked out of the capitol city and Khandaq altogether, vowing to take revenge on all the heroes. He would need help, though...

OOC: Any villains who are plotting together and want another heavy-hitter to help 'em out, PM me. I'm in full villain mode now and I'd be happy to help out. :)

OOC: Karem, you rock when you're on your game!!!! Very Proud, keep it up!!! I'll PM, Bro.

The Parasite got out of the car and gave a sinister smile to Red Hood.

"I've got the perfect way to get ol' Kal's attention, thanks to Wayne."

With that, Rudy transformed into an super model-esque blonde woman. He saundered through the front door of Wayne Enterprises and asked the secretary if he could see Mr. Wayne, saying that it was a surprise from an old friend. The secretary had plenty of prior experience in dealing with Mr. Wayne's girlfriends, so Rudy was let through and told to wait for "Brucie" in his office.

Once the Parasite was in Wayne's office, he knew exactly where to look for the spare communicator. He found it in a hidden drawer in Wayne's large oak desk. He adjusted the comm link to Superman's frequency. As if it were second nature, Rudy perfectly immitated Batman's voice and spoke into the comm.

"'S'. We need to talk immediately. My office. Five Minutes."

After that, the Parasite put the communicator back into it's compartment within the desk and waited in his disguise as the woman.

OOC: RTB, feel free to say that you broke into the office by other means if you want to.

BTW, incase anyone is confused, Rudy/Bruce was referring to Superman when he said "S".

Dr. Tom Barker was a respected psychiatrist in Gotham City. Tonight, he was holding his weekly group therapy session for people suffering from clinical depression.

"And...and I just feel so...insignificant," cried Terry, a long-time patient of Dr. Barker, "Sometimes I feel like I just have...nothing to live for."

"Now, Terry, don't feel like that," said Dr. Barker, "You have to be thankful for the life you have. You have to try and just be happy from time to time. A smile will do you a whole lot of good."

Terry started laughing.

"That's more like it, Terry," said Dr. Barker, "Be positive!"

Then Barker realised that everyone in the group therapy session had begun to laugh. This realisation somehow started barker laughing too. And before long, they had all collapsed to the ground, dead, their faces pulled back into horrific grins.

The door swung open, and The Joker stepped in. He had changed out of his Arkham clothes. He was now in his normal attire, currently covered up in a purple hat and trenchcoat. He switched off the device he's placed in the ventilation system, that had pumped his laughing gas, a form of his Joker Venom, into the seminar room.

"Ha ha, that's better. Smiles all round! Nothing is more dull than depression. What you all needed was a good laugh. Then you were able to die happy! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!"

This would surely attract Batman's attention. He certainly wanted to keep his old pal busy. Oh, The Joker had grand plans, alright. When he was done, Bruce Wayne would never be the same.

The Joker entertained himself with this thougt throughout his journey back to his hideout. When he got there, he found waiting for him some very important information. Once he'd escaped from Arkham, he'd got in touch with an old underworld contact, who'd been able to track down Brian's phone records, to find out just who he'd been talking to for the last month. One of those people would be the person who'd hired him to bust The Joker out of Arkham.

The Joker opened the envelope, and took out sheets of paper full of names. He scanned down the list, looking for anyone who stood out. He didn't recognise most of the names. But then one name caught his attention, made his leering grin widen once more.

"Harvey Dent..."
