The 'World of Heroes: DC Style" RPG Season II

OOC:Why do we need the JLA now?

We have pretty good arcs with the JLA members going as it is.....

OOC: Well yeah, but it's HOW we manage to divide time between our careers and Justice League duty... it's kinda inevitable...

OOC:True. But,The League needs more villians to fight....:o

Lex Luthor,Capt.Boomerang,And The Joker are the main ones who post regularly,as far as villians go.

Otherwise,you'll be fighting a bunch of NPCs......:o

With a bit of effort and patience, Digger was able to round up most of his gear within a matter of hours. He had scored a nice Abercrombie & Fitch rain parka and a nice pair of light blue Chuck Taylors, along with some ESPN recommended rubber galoshes. He had also cleaned out the Coleman camping gear in the store. He had ended up with more than he needed, but he liked to be prepared.

The item that had most caught his eye was a superb hunting/skinning knife. The edge was nothing short of perfection. You could cut your way through 3 feet of steel and STILL slice a tomato with ease. The perfect blade for removing the stubborn horns of a few Rhino's, he figured. He also bought some flares and extra kerosene out of impulse. You can never be too careful when hunting big game was his thinking.

Digger also stocked up on insect repellent. While he didn't mind feeding off of others, he'd be damned if anything fed off of him. Insect or otherwise.

When the salesman got overzealous, seeing the big sale, and recommended the weapons section, Digger wanted to kill him where he stood. He restrained himself and politely said he didn't care for riflles and such.

The truth was that he had chosen his weapon a long time ago. And it had been good to him. Anything else he considered barbaric. Not much skill in shooting a rifle was his mentality. Nor did he like crossbows, a weapon designed to fail or break when you needed it most, he thought. No, he preferred a weapon he could throw with un-erring perfection. A boomerang was all he would ever need. And the only weapon he felt he could ever truly rely upon in a tight spot. A boomerang would never misfire...not in his hands.

He cashed out with the cashier and asked them to hold his purchase till morning, as he still needed to find new lodgings for the night.

Digger consulted he Travel Guide and found a luxury hotel nearby. The jacuzzi is what sold him. He dialed in on his cellular and made a reservation for the night....

TO BE CONTINUED............

OOC: I still can't believe I've made this many posts without meeting another player....and I'm STILL enjoying this character, which I'm sure my posts reflect. Bring it on, BC.....CB is more ready for you than you know....heh.

Lex exited a limo in front of the White House and showed the guard his authorization stating he had an appointment with President Ross.

Once Luthor was in the Oval office he showed President Ross the entire Arkham--Superman video file. Once it was over President Ross was visibly shaken. He looked at Luthor and asked, "Why are you showing me this?"

Luthor replied, "Well since I have turned over a new leaf I felt I should be honest and up-front about everything in my life. This was a huge chunk of my life, and I would hate for any of this to ever become public knowledge. I mean if they ever found out about this the public's confidence in the heroes of the League woudl be seriously undermined and not to mention the potential embarssment it could mean for you and other world leaders who so readily rely upon them." Luthor turned is back from Ross and began to smirk. Say it...say it Pete...say it like a good President

President Ross said, "All-right Lex what do you want?"

Lex replied, "Simple...what I wanted from the beginning....I want my presidential Pardon. One signature and all of this goes away. Oh of course I'll keep a copy in case you try anything foolish."

Ross said, "I won't. I have no intention of going back on a deal. I am not you. Very well I'll cite your recent good deeds as the reason. I want two things though 1) All the programs you put in place to help others stay in place and no going back on giving the orphanage their deed. 2) Any and all copies of the video-file to be wiped out once and for all. The less I have to deal with you the better."

Luthor replied, "Very well Mr. President. We have a deal now if you'll excuse me I have some other appointments to keep here in Washington."

Luthor sticks his hand out to the President. Ross looks at it and then at Luthor and says, "Get out of my house."

Luthor turns and leaves the Oval Office. Soon hundreds of News outlets are breaking the News of Lex Luthor's pardon.

OOC: Luthor is so manipulative its plain evil!

I move back towards the computer with a steaming cup of coffee clasped in my hands. As I take another addictive sip, I try to contemplate giving up the incessasnt habit. So much caffine was never a good thing but so much caffine was a necessity when you had to stay up all night watching over men in tights.

I take off my glasses and squeeze my sore eyes shut while massaging my neck with my fingers. After stretching my arms I turn back to the screen and am pleasantly surprised to note that the previous chaos in the city had much subdued. Croc was out and so was Freeze. The sight where Ivy had caused destruction was horded with the GCPD and Medical teams indicating that Ivy's round of destruction had been put to a stop. I smile at the thought of Tim, he must be very proud of himself. I just hope Bruce doesn't grunt out of giving the boy a much needed appraisal. I turn on the link to him and laugh, "Good Job there Timmy! Now make sure Batman makes his appreciation known this time!"

Nightwing approched the Clocktower from a nearby building.

This was going to be bad.

Dick contemplated hundreds upon hundreds of ways to tell Barbara about what happened.......even if Tim really is innocent.

He hoped that was the case.He almost could'e said he KNEW that was the case........but hes only human.Hes bound to make a mistake from time to time....

He shot his grappling hook towards the Clocktower, and swung towards it.

OOC:Short.....but it moves things along.

Kara gets the Dobbs fire put out, but still hasn't gotten a response from the anyone on the other two fires.
Either everyone is busy, or I did something to p**s them all off... Oh well, I'm pretty sure I can handle this on my own anyway.
Just then she has an idea of how to put out the other two fires very quickly. With superspeed she flies down to each site, just to inquire if anyone is inside either building. Noone is. As she leaves both sites, the firefighters yell after her in dismay, thinking she's abandoning them to the blazes. Don't worry guys, I'll be back in a flash.
She flew out to the harbor, hovering over the water she released a cold blast of air from her lungs freezing a good chunk of the harbor solid. She broke off two sizeable chunks, and flew back to the first fire, setting the chunk of ice on the top of the building. As it melted it put the fire out. She quickly did the same at the other site, then flew back to the harbor to melt the rest of the ice with her heat vision so as not to hinder the boat traffic.
"This is Supergirl again, the situations are under control. I repeat the situations are under control."
Now time to play Alice.

She flew towards the one remaining hat factory in town.

IC:Babs Gordon

Its times like this when I miss Dinah. I miss her constant blabber. Her chirpy attitude and sunny outlook on everything. Thoughtfully brushing a strand of hair from my face, I connect to her, trying to imagine her in some excriciatingly hot desert in Africa, "Hey there! How's Africa treating you?"

When I don't get an imeadiate reply, I assume she must have shut it off this instant or something. Sighing, I glance at the screen and notice the Batmobile heading towards the Batcave.Hhhmm...Were tonight's events over already? Sure, not all of the inmates had caused trouble yet but knowing Batman, it was just...unusual for him to go home pretty early. Did Bruce's current 'instability' take a bad turn? I chew on my lower lip thoughfully as my hand brings to my lips an empty Mug. Alright, the rate of my caffine consumption must definately decline. Now what was I going to do?All pent up energy with nothing to indulge myself in. I look at my feet, sitting on the foot rest and can't help but feel a bit disapointed. Shakin my head to clear myself of any negative thoughts I steer away from the console. It will take time...

A cool breeze makes its way over to where I'm sitting and I turn my head in its direction only to have my gaze fall on the blue and black clad form Dick standing in front of the open window.I try to subdue the smile threatening to enlarge across my face at his impeccable timming. "I'm glad to see you made it back in one piece."

I move towards where he's standing...rather uncomfortably, I notice, "So what's up? Noticed Bruce heading towards the cave too early for any bat...Is he okay?"

Dick didnt know what to say.

He just stood there, silent, for a long moment. Finally,he managed to spill it out.

"We have a problem."

Barbara looks at him,confused.

"I......I dont know how to say this......."

He takes off his mask, preparing himself for the reaction.Taking in a deep breath,he just says it.

"Poison Ivy is dead."

IC:Barb Gordon

I stare at his maskless face utterly dumbfounded, not even sure if I heard him right. My mind reels about trying to absorb the words he just said.To make sense of them. After a moment of waiting for him to elaborate, I move closer to him, touching his arm and looking up at him. "How...?" I hear myself say, noticing that his blue eyes refuse to look into mine. He is...grave...confused...His jaw clenched tight as if afraid to say what he knows. I start to feel panic seeping inside me at his distant countenace. Tightening my grasp of his arm I breathe, "Dick look at me! What's wrong?!"

Dick didnt want to say it.....because he didnt even believe it.But dammit......we all do things we dont want to do,because we HAVE to.

"I.."

Dick turns to Barbara.

"This is hard for me to say.....and I really hope it isnt possible....but..."

Dick lowers his head, letting out a silent gulp.He looks up again.

"She was murdered......"

And then,it comes.

"...and Tim may have been involved."

At that moment......He wanted to shoot himself for ever even THINKING that......but he was taught by Bruce to never pass up anyone, especially when it came to murder.

Even if it was those closest to us.

As she flies towards the Factory, she notices that only one light is on.
Could this be a trap? It more than likely is, but what are Tetch's motives behind the bombings? What is he up to?
She uses her telescopic and x-ray vision to scan the lit room, it appears to be the assembly line, and several dozen children wearing several types of "Wonderland" hats are working on making more hats. There is no sign of Tetch though. It suddenly dawned on Kara.
Great Rao! He destroyed the competition to force people to buy HIS hats. When they buy his, they'll be under his control! This madman needs to be stopped.
She quickly scans the whole building with infrared to pick up heat signals, and notices three heat signatures in an adjacent room. Must be Tetch and a couple of his henchmen, though why he'd pick anyone that small is beyond me. Was the Atom unavailible?
She plows through the exterior wall catching the villains by surprize.
"WHAT?!?! NOOOO!!! THIS ISN'T FAIR!! I wanted the batty guy, not a superpowered freak! Get her Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum!!! Get her now!!"
As he said that, she noticed sparks come from the hats on Dum and Dee's head.
"Taking this Alice theme a little far, aren't we short stuff? Or did you just want henchmen that made you feel taller than you are? Well, its time to get you back to your tea party at Arkham, Hatter."
With one solid punch she dropped Tetch to the ground, then quickly fired a burst of heat vision at the computer controlling all the hats. Dum and Dee suddenly got terrified looks on their faces as they saw Tetch slumped against the wall.
"Cut you guys a break, you just surrender now and I won't knock you out like I did your 'boss' here."
She didn't have to wait for a reply as both of them fainted. "Well that was easy enough. Oracle, if you're listening tell the police that there are 38 children at the Wonderland factory, along with the Mad Hatter and his henchmen under wraps" With that she grabbed piping off the wall and tied the three together with it. As she flew off she caught the Hatter's delusional words, "Such pretty blonde hair... she'd make a good Alice I think, don't you think so March Hare?"

I drive the Batmobile into it's dock and get out. I open the passenger door and I pick up the still sleeping Harley Quinn into my arms and I move her to the hospital bed. Alfred is there tidying up the place as I set her on the bed.

"Is this how you plan to get all your women to bed, sir?" He replys with in his dry tone. I see him notice the rather large bulge of stomech on her. "Though from the looks of things, she's been wooed quite well already."

"It's Harley Quinn, Alfred. And though it's a scary thought, it sems as though Joker's going to be a father." The shock/fright is apparent in his face.

"Why did you bring her here?" Alfred asks.

"Because from the looks of things, Joker isn't too pleased with the news. I'll keep her safe here until we apprehend him, then we'll take her to Leslie's. She'll take care of Harley during that time."

"Pardon me, sir, but wouldn't she reconize me?" Alfred has a point there. Then...

"Alfred, when you see news about millionares like Lex Luthor or Donald Trump, do you ever remember their butlers?"

"Touche', Master Bruce."

"I need to head back out to Gotham. The rest of Arkham is still out there. Keep her on a light sedative, nothing too hard or potentially damaging to the baby, but enough to keep her still, so she doesn't try to run again."

"Right, Master Bruce." Alfred does so and I start back to the Batmobile. It's then when I hear the Batcomputer ring in for a message. I walk there and I access the message...and I'm chilled to the bone... A red man. A red face. A look of menence that can almost rival mine. But it was not the image that scares me, it's the words.

"Hello, Batman. I am The Red Hood. I have come to you to deiliver a message, my "call of duty," if you will. My prime directive, my goal...my LIFE. It is simply this...to make your majestic kingdom to fall. Good-bye for now...until I come to cut off your head of course. Good-bye...Bruce..."

I quickly try to tap into the frequency to see if I can trace it...no such luck. I definately need to get back to Gotham.

"Alfred," I call out, "I have to tell the other's what has happened. Amp up all the security in the Cave and the Manor...someone's threatened us. Both of us. Batman...and myself. Do not hesitate to take action. I'm heading out."

Before I leave I take a disk and copy the message from this "Red Hood," and then I climb into the Batmobile to the Clocktower. If there's any system more advanced than mine...it's Barbra's.

-----------------------------------

He switches off the comm to the Batcave. Now that he has given his message of intent, it is time for the Red Hood to do his duty...and bring down The Batman...

For a moment there I seriously consider the possibility that he was saying all this due to the effect of Scarecrow's Toxin...Maybe it messed with his head, to put it all to bluntly.

Tim!?!

It was so absurd and laughable an accusation that I was almost mad at Dick for even thinking of such a thing. When Bruce had been accused to murder, he was the only one among us who had believed staunchly in his innocence. My thinking otherwise back then even now has me ashamed. And now here he was telling me that Tim had gone ahead and murdered Ivy.

I hold his gloved hand in mine and pull him down to crouch down beside my chair. After running a hand through my hair, I take a good look at his tight lipped, disheaveled face and say firmly, "There is no substancial evidence is there?"

"No."

Dick leans closer to Barbara.

"But I was taught,by Bruce himself,to never rule out anyone when it came to murder."

He can tell Barbara doesnt like the idea of accusing Tim of a crime like this......especially since that incident with Bruce.....but there was still a chance Tim was innocent.

"Look....Im not saying he did it.I consider Tim a brother to me,as much as I consider this whole group to be a family....and to even think of one of us going against the morals we were taught makes me hate myself."

Dick stands up.

"But....I want to hear his side of the story."

Dick puts his mask back on.

"Thats why I came.Do you know where he is,and if you dont, could you find out?"

OOC:Im leaving,so for my next post......if you find out where Tim is......just say that I pulled one of those disappearing acts before I could respond.

Later.:)

OOC:Where is Tim supposed to be?I have no idea!

OOC: I don't know, he kind-of disapeared after that...

IC:

I reach the block next to where the Clocktower is located. After jumping out and doing some swinging, I head to the window and climb in. I see Dick there as well.

"Dick, Barbra, there's been an incident." Both their eyes tell me that they know about it, but how could they? "Some mysterious caller hacked into the Batcomputer and submitted a message. I brought it here to show you. Barbra, do you think you can figure out where the call was located from?"

I notice their faces, they're clearly unconfortable about something.

"...Is there something you two aren't telling me?"

OOC: Bishop Cori, I just figured out who you are! You're Lantern Light, who once played (for a couple posts) as Barry Allen! How you doin?

OOC: Wha...? I thought Bishop was a chick. Or is Lantern Light a girl or--I'm confused. :(

OOC: I'm doing good, and now that school's winding down I actually have time to play. :) And Supergirl is easier for me since she's one of my all time favorite characters anyway :) Just wondering though, how did you figure that out?

OOC:So where did the call come from?
IC: Babs Gordon
I take a glance at Dick as he stands there in silence. I speak up before he gets a chance to, making sure to cut out Dick's suspiscion concerning Tim. "Apparently Poison Ivy is dead."

I can feel Dick's head turn towards me but I keep my gaze firmly locked with Batman's, "We aren't sure about who- what the cause of her death is yet..."

This is the second time tonight I've been shocked. The detective part of me takes over and tries to figure it out. Who could have done that? I remember Tim was...

Oh God. Could it be Tim?

Calm down, Bruce. It might not have been, don't become biased, just think of this like any other case.

"Where's Robin?"

OOC: Now that my Hatter arc is over I'm going to wait for SuperFerret to show up so I can get started on a more personal one :)
