OOC: Wait, is that what you do when you aren't prepetuateing your story? whatever. Anyway, what's your character?

I heard someone here played Huntress. Wanna join me in my story thing? I'm The Question.:D

OOC: No no no... I meant it like this. Webmistress 04 used to play Huntress, until she realized she only knew the Helena Wayne version, so she quit. So I'm expecting, if she watched TAS, she'd want to come back and play... so PM her and ask her if she wants to play... if you want to, that is...

and put out of context comments in OOC...

OOC: I am Hal Jordan, who has given up his ring... read around... I'm getting more violent... and never midn what I said.. .I say we should buddy up...

Half of you are probably wondering why I didn't just run to Supes to tell him the news. The other half, you know, the people above zygote level intelligence, probably notice that 'the man of steel' is the last face that I want to see right now. I'm just gonna continue rounding up--

"ALL ACTIVE AND ABLE MEMBERS OF THE JUSTICE LEAGUE, PLEASE REPORT IMMEDIATELY TO THE CONTROL ROOM!"

"...That'll do."

Seeing as I no longer have a job to do, I run over to Canary n Babs and wait for the others. I'm suprised to see that Supes isn't here. I said suprised. Not dissapointed. Hopefully he's out there actually making himself useful.
"Where'd blue go?"

OOC: Ok, I know I didn't follow this rule, but I was helping out lupus... take most OOC comments to the OCO Thread...

The apartment over the Black Scorpion bar, Hub city.

John Rockifeller. A pathetic thug who shares a name with the family that helped build this country. Moved here a year ago from Star City. Technically he's clean, but he owns a bar that catters to less than honorable citizens of Hub City. He hears the scum who can't hold their beer talk about all the naughty things they've done. The perfect snich.

I grab him by the collar, and hoist him out of an open window.

"Hello John"

"HOLY ****!"

"Now, mister Rockifeller. I have a question for you."

"I'LL TELL YOU WHAT YOU WANT!!!!! JUST LET ME GO!!!!!"

"A buisnessmen with known mob conections was found in his apartment this evening. He was driven incureibly insane for no obvoius sign. All of my reaserch indicates that it was done through telepathy. You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you John?"

"Th...there's been a rumor around town that some psycho French ***** was hired by one of the bosses. Calls herself Phobia. Rumor has it she can reach into your mind and tear it apart. NOW LET GO OF ME!!!!!"

"WHO HIRED HER?!?!?!"

"SOME MOB BOSS FROM GOTHAM!!! HIGHTAILED IT OUT OF THERE AFTER THE GANG WARS!!!!! HE'S A META!!!!!! CALLES HIMSELF KILLER CROC!!!!!!! HE'S HIDEING OUT IN THE SEWERS!!!!!!"

I pulled him back inside.

Killer Croc. Phobia. Damn. I'm good. I'm not that good.

Victor Sage's apartment, Hub City

Justice League comunicator. I swore to myself I'd never use this.

I turn it on.

No turning back now.

I might as well call.....

*Hal sat on his bed in his apartment. It was a dump, the paint was peeling, occasionally a roach would run by. Hal, for some reason, didn't go to the hospital to nurse his wounds. The hospital was under Ripper's Cru jurisdiction. So the bullets in his body and the kinfewounds would have to wait. Hal put a frozen steak on his eye and felt inside his pocket. Inside, he found his JL communicator. It was off this whole time, and with a flick of the switch, he turned it back on. It was then he heard a message from the Question. It's been a while since he had seen the guy. He operated a bit like the Bat, but was part of the League in it's worst times. The Question needed help, and Hal needed help too.*

"Of course I'll be there. I don't know how useful I would be, but I'm there for you. Only one thing: you wouldn't happen to have medical experience, would you?"

- Couldn't Canary just talk about her earlier experiences in the Tower of Fate versus Mordru, and how the Justice Society utterly got their asses kicked, as in destroyed and annihilated?
- SuperFerret, that just didn't make sense. I've always liked how you played Supes, but he would never come up with that kind of plan. Face the Dark Alliance alone? Superman actually has confidence in his team-mates, and also knows he'd die the moment he meets Mordru. Anyway, I did like the twist where you didn't tell Dinah, oh well.

OOC: Superman hasn't been around much, and people have died because of it. He's trying to protect the other Leaguers from harm by not allowing them to fight the DA. He knows that they'll be there sooner or later, but he wants to do this on his own. And I was hoping no one would kill me outright, where's the fun in that.

Chongjin, North Korea.

One and a half years ago.

"Abhorrent thing!!! Give me my life back!"

Having expected children to emerge from his chest, Fernus is shocked and furious as the Martian Manhunter rips himself out instead. However, the two are so focused on each other that neither notices the other life form that emerges, freed by J'onn's escape. Fernus' attempt to breed was successful.

Driving J'onn to his knees, Fernus gloats. "Free from my body, you've lost the ability to dance with fire."

Injured and burning, J'onn remains defiant. "...But you, 'Great Conqueror'... you lost track of my team..."

As a massive tidal wave washes across the Korean city and Fernus' flames are extinguished, the unnoticed child is washed away. Finally, Fernus is destroyed. However, Fernus is far from gone.

Days pass, and North Koreans begin to rebuild and repopulate their city. Search teams are among the first to go in, seeking survivors. Every team reports back, not having found a single person, alive or dead. Every team, that is, except one.

As the team makes its way through the ruins that was once Chongjin, one member thinks he sees movement down a side street. Telling his team to go on, he goes to investigate. At first he believes it's some small animal that survived the flooding, but as he gets closer he realizes that it's a baby.

Because the newborn Martian has a totally blank mind, it is completely open to suggestion. Far too young to have any control over its weak telepathy at all, it simply involuntarily reaches out to any mind it can reach. As the searcher nears, the Martian baby picks up on his most obvious and overt thought: that he has found a human child. Not knowing any better, the Martian baby believes what the human searcher believes and instinctively changes its form to mimic the human's exact mental image.

Finding that he was correct about the child, the searcher calls to his compatriots and the baby is rescued, eventually placed in a foster home. There the child lives undiscovered, as it modifies its body to mimic anything its caretakers expect to find. Its "parents" never put much more thought to their usually perfect child other than remarking that they finally have the child of their dreams.

Chongjin, North Korea.

Now.

For the past year and a half, Fernus' disembodied consciousness had essentially ceased to exist. After all, can a consciousness that is unaware even of itself truly exist? However, that all changed the moment Mordru turned his sights on the Martian Manhunter.

Watching the Martian burn, the dark mage was unaware of the events his actions were putting in motion half a world away. As he was devoured by magical flame, J'onn's mind filled with emotions he almost never feels: panic, suffering, fear, rage. Everything that defines Fernus.

Fernus stirs. Disembodied, his mind is cut off from all senses but one: his telepathy. Of all the minds in the repopulated city of Chongjin, one mind shines brighter than all. That of his son. Enjoying the revelation that his plan to reproduce was actually successful, Fernus' mind rushes toward the infantile body of his son. He enters its body. Remember, son: father knows best. He destroys the consciousness of his son, taking its place.

Fernus looks over his new body. Using his shape-shifting ability, he accelerates the aging of the body a hundred-fold, maturing the body in seconds. Flame erupts, covering his body, as he achieves the familiar form of a Burning Martian.

Fernus the Burning has returned.

He smiles and pauses, enjoying his very existence. The child's "parents" rush into the room. "Pretenders," Fernus mutters, as he covers them in flame. As they burn, and he soaks in their suffering and terror, he realizes that he is too weak to be a true threat to his foes. He needs more power... more must suffer. Hatred for his enemies comes flooding back. He remembers the Oan and his counterpart, the Green Martian. They'll all burn.

The house explodes and Fernus rockets into the air. "The world will BURN!"

OOC: Sorry about the length, but it was my first post and there was a lot I wanted to fit in.

Jordan. Great. Why couldn't have been Batman? Or Green Arrow?

"Not in any official copacity, but yes. Get here as fast as you can. And bring any files the League has on a mercenary named Phobia."

Jordan may be a little hotheaded and complacent with authority, but he's got experiance I'll need. The ring would have been helpful, though.

The abandoned Ben and Gerry's factory, location of the Hub City Justice League transporter

There's a flash of light. If you look closely enogh, you can actually see his body reforming itself one layer at a time.

He steps out. He's bleeding.

"Hey Vic. Ollie says high....."

Passed out. Great. Good thing I brought the first aid kit.

Why couldn't it have been Green Arrow?

OOC: Very good RPing, other than the fact you bunnied me... now I think, for your post, it would have taken forever for us to meet, so thanx, just that once, for bunnying me... now since I passed out, you have to post a new post for where I am to awaken...

nice post leaguer.does this mean that J'onns got an enemy coming for him cos hes just got out of bed and is 100% fit.in other words

"BRING IT!"

OOC: I don't really plan on him meeting with any PC's for a bit, unless they want to intercept him first, although you and the Green Lanterns would make ideal enemies.

OOC: Well, I'll be playing Mordru in character, and Supes barging into his Tower would seriously piss him off. He would kill Superman.
Seriously you all really should rethink entering the Tower of Fate. Especially Superman. It's a magical place and it's master, Mordru, is one of the most powerful magical forces in the DCU. Superman would not be able to defeat him, let alone in his Tower.

Also, once you are in, there would be no teleporting out. The Tower does not work like that. Hell, the only way you'd be able to enter is if Mordru let's you (and, if you really wanted in, he would allow it). The only way you'd be able to escape is either going through a dimensional doorway and hope you can get back to your reality through said dimension, or if Mordru allowed you to leave the Tower.

OOC: Ah, ok. I thought you were all talking about going inside the Tower. Sure, you can camp out in front of it if you want, no problem.

Okay:

Vic Sage's apartment, Hub City

Jordon's starting to wake up. Good.

"Ah, my head. Where are we?"

"My apartment. Here. Drink this. Herbal tea."

"Thanks. You didn't say much on the comunicator. What exactly is the problem?"

"The Gotham mob boss Killer croc is makeing a power play in Hub City. He's hired a telepathic mercenary named Phobia to take out his compitition. He's already taken a major weapons suplyer to the mobs out of the picture. You have the files I asked for?"

"Yeah, Here."

I take the files. They don't tell me much I already know. Born into welth. Metahuman abilities manifested in her teenage years. Turned to a life of crime out of boredom. Finds pleasure in tortureing others.

"I've trained in the use of certain meditateive herbs. I should be able to hold off Phobia's powers for a while. That means you'll have to take care of Croc. You think you can handle it?"

"Definately. Where are we headed?"

"The sewers."

OOC: The Tower of Fate isn't tied to the "regular" plane of reality. It's usually in Salem, if I recall correctly, but it doesn't have to be there if its master doesn't want it to. If Mordru wills it to vanish from Earth, it'll just exist within its own dimension. Also, Superman really, reeeeeally shouldn't be going inside it alone. In Virtue & Vice, he was reduced to being virtually powerless because Dr. Fate sped time up and the Tower's not open to sunlight, so Superman's power reserves basically wore down in just a couple minutes. And that was a lethargic Hector Hall himself, so I doubt Mordru'd be anywhere near as kind.

Mordru takes the totem that Shade had thrown onto the table and examines it. “Interesting…I had heard of this artifact. It is most powerful, but it holds a special enchantment where only those who would protect the weak may use it. I will see if I can…bypass that complication.”

TheCorpulent1 said:
Black Adam reverted to his super-powered form and entered the room he felt Mordru's summons coming from. "You requested me?"
“Yes, I did, Mighty Adam. I am about to fill you all in on our upcoming attack. Now, we only need the Scarecrow to arrive, and the briefing can begin.”

OOC: Ok so J'onn is up and i can sense a raid on mordru's tower or atleast the outside perimeters.any chance we got a magician on the heroes side or a genius in terms of creating things technologically wise?
