To be fair, UFC has Conor McGregor too but he also just ate a loss. Punk's situation is more like Miz when he got signed by WWE because he was an MTV star I suppose. I'm still rooting for Punk but people are saying he hasn't won a practice fight yet, so I'm a bit concerned....

I wonder if the UFC will be allowed to use Punk's footage from WWE? For him, it's UFC or nothing. He won't go back to the WWE if his UFC career fails.

Also, the UFC also has a star issue like the WWE. Conor just lost, Ronda won't be back until the fall, Jon Jones is an idiot and Daniel Cormier is injured. Punk will draw in fans because of what he did in WWE, at least initially. Soon though, what he did in the WWE won't matter because he has to win and win quickly in the UFC. If he can do that than his past with the WWE will be just that, his past. If he doesn't win quickly and loses a lot, people will ask about whether or not this was the right idea for him.

He's the one person on the entire UFC roster who is under the most pressure to do well because he has a lot to prove. He wants to prove that he can do what Brock Lesnar did and successfully transition from WWE to UFC, of course, Lesnar is a freak of nature. Because he came from WWE and had not fought for any other MMA organization previously, he has many doubters. I believe Lesnar had those doubters too, but he also had a collegiate wrestling background before WWE, which is what many male UFC fighters have. Punk does not have a collegiate wrestling background.
