Okay, I should be able to watch this, at least part of it before work tonight.

Awesome seeing Paul and Joey together again. That's the dream announce team I'd love to see doing RAW every week.

Ladies and gentlemen, his name is Paul Heyman....

Ryback can at least sell a move better than Cena. Just an observation.

So what's the over/under on how soon Curtis Axel will be future endeavored?

Ladies And Gentleman, the Wrestling Thread's Name is Paul Heyman, and...

Because we REALLY need a new ****ing thread title.

You think The Wrestling Thread is going to spill the beans because the statute of limitations has run out?

Someone's gotta drive the team bus, might as well be a dirty trucker.

So instead of showing Daniel Bryan "yes" with the San Francisco Giants, they promote a stupid cat for next week.

Morons.

The match is suddenly a lot more interesting with Harper involved.

I guess next week's Raw will be a big "will Ryback join Team Cena?!" story.

So, why in the blue hell does the WWE Divas champ always have to ragdoll in the ring for inferior wrestlers? Paige was doing it as champ, as well.

And I really don't mind the Woods/Kofi gimmick just yet. Kofi needed some kind of character refresh, so I'll give it a month before I burn it down.

MARINES: Arnold Skaaland, Verne Gagne, Blackjack Mulligan, Sgt. Slaughter, Jesse James, Craig Pittman, and Randy Orton

AIR FORCE: Paul Bearer and Adam Bomb

NAVY: Freddie Blassie, Jesse Ventura, and Konnan

ARMY: Ox Baker, Lou Albano, Toru Tanaka, Dutch Mantel, Crush, Ahmed Johnson, Perry Saturn, Diesel, Michael Kirchner, Ken Kennedy, and Bobby Lashley

NATIONAL GUARD: Brock Lesnar

I thank all these men for their service even if it didn't work out for them.

Face turns are one of the strangest things about wrestling. You can be an evil sack of crap, cheating constantly, interfering in matches, trying to maim your opponents, but as soon as your buddies turn on you, you turn into the nicest guy in the world who the fans are supposed to root for as you get revenge. Oh sure, the ex-heel will do a promo about how they're not nice guys and don't apologize for how they've been(like Ambrose), but they won't do anything overtly villainous anymore. It's like even though they claim they haven't changed, their actions say otherwise. They insist on winning matches without help, if they lose, they're gracious losers and don't attack their opponent afterwards, they team up with the other faces, etc.

The only part of the show I watched last night was the Kofi vignette. It was about this time 3 years ago that I stopped hoping for WWE to do anything special with him. After seeing the online rumors of a new stable with Xavier and Big E, I was curious to see what, if anything, WWE has left for him to do.

Let me just say: UGH. I don't believe the gimmick is stereotypical, but it certainly won't have any depth. Gimmicks that are based around singing, dancing, and preaching sunshine & roses messages fizzle quickly. (see Fandango, Brodus, R-Truth, Emma) I really hope this is a swerve that marks something different than Kofi just being part of a smiling, well-dressed group.

There is one thing that can save this group: in addition to Xavier, Kofi and Big-E, there needs to be a fourth member, and that fourth member needs to be Heath Slater. He needs to have no rhythm, sing off-key and have trouble with catchphrases. And his out-of-placeness in the group must never be acknowledged by anybody in character.

I do like that Team Authority has all the meat heads that Vince loves but are being lead by an "Indy" darling.. times are changing

JIM ROSS SIGNS ON TO CALL GLOBAL FORCE WRESTLING’S PRESENTATION OF NEW JAPAN PRO WRESTLING’S “WRESTLE KINGDOM 9” ON JAN. 4

NASHVILLE — Jim Ross, the preeminent voice of professional wrestling for the past four decades, has agreed to provide the play-by-play for Global Force Wrestling’s presentation of New Japan Pro Wrestling’s “Wrestle Kingdom 9” live on pay per view in North America on Jan. 4, 2015.

The Hall of Famer has called more pro wrestling PPV events than any broadcaster and is regarded as the greatest, play-by-play announcer in wrestling history. He will be returning to the mic at one of the biggest events in the world. This is the 24th year of NJPW’s annual extravaganza at the Tokyo Dome, where more than 40,000 fans from around the world are expected to attend.

“I am truly honored and excited to have been asked to be a part of this historic event,” Ross said. “To be able to return to my roots and to provide play by play for an amazing, pro wrestling product will be special. I never thought I’d ever return to ringside for a wrestling event but this opportunity was just too special to turn down.”

GFW founder and CEO Jeff Jarrett said he had been working on lining up Ross for weeks.

“When you think of the great events in wrestling over the past 30 years one of the things they have in common is the man behind the microphone. And that man is Jim Ross,” Jarrett said. “I’m excited for this event, and I’m excited for good ol’ JR to be a part of it. GFW fans wanted him, and from day one we have said we’re going to give our fans what they want.”

The show, which will air live at 2 a.m. ET (11 p.m. PT) and re-air in prime time at 7 p.m. ET (4 PT) is available on DirecTV, Dish, AT&T U-verse, Comcast, Verizon Fios and all cable systems in the United States, and in Canada on Bell ExpressVu TV, Rogers, Shaw, Sasktel and Telus. Check your local listings for availability. The show also will be available on the “Flipps” app on iTunes and Android.

This year’s card is headlined by an IGWP heavyweight title match between Hiroshi Tanahashi and Kazuchika Okada. The Bullet Club, of which Jarrett is a member along with AJ Styles and IWGP tag team champions Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows, will appear as well.

The show will be available in English and in Japanese via the second audio program (SAP) button on your TV.
