In front of a sold out crowd, House of Hardcore put on an amazing show at the old ECW arena last night, Saturday, November 15th. Wrestling Done Right was there, with an "All Access" pass. Imagine our surprise when we went in the back and saw several non advertised TNA guys. How would they be used? Would they be used? Was that the only surprises? After meeting, and conversing with people like Austin Aries, The Young Bucks, and Eddie Edwards, it was show time.
After a decent match between Christian York and Brian Meyers (Formally Curt Hawkins) Hawkins threw a tantrum and refused to leave the ring. In the first shocker of the night, Ricardo Rodriguez made his way to the ring and announced Alberto Del Rio! Del Rio easily dispatched Meyers and then went on a rant about being glad to be at HoH and able to wrestl in America after someone tried to stop him. He seemed legit excited, and happy. He said at places like HoH they aren't "Sports Entertainers, they are F'n Wrestlers!" The sold out crowd of over 1,200 people went absolutely crazy!
Team Tremendous & Little Guido took on Anthony Green, Vik Dalishus and Ben Ortiz in a very good match. Honestly I wasn't impressed for the first half of the match, but every guy really turned it up and had the crowd in the palm of their hands the second half of their match.
Eddie Edwards and Eddie Kingston put on a wrestling clinic that had the high spot fans chanting boring, but it was a great ":wrestling" match up!
Tony Nese overcame Alex Reynolds and Lance Anoaia with a sick looking reverse frankensteiner from the top rope! Nese is always great, but seems to really turn it up for his HoH appearances.
Austin Aries and Drew Galloway (Formally Drew McIntyre) had the crowd chanting "this is awesome" and "this is wrestling" for their entire match. Both men gave the wild crowd all that they had in one of the best matches of the night.
In another shocking surprise, the fill in for EC3, who had to cancel for his extreme rules match with Tommy Dreamer, due to injury, was none other than the TNA World champion, Bobby Roode! Not only that, but Roode insisted that the TNA World title would be on the line! Roode and Dreamer beat the hell out of each other all match long, that saw numerous run ins including Velvet Sky and Spike Dudley. Roode eked out the victory, but it was Dreamers night. He gave a rousing speech, introducing both his daughters (The Twinovators lol) and then allowed his wife Beulah Mcgillicutty, to say goodbye to her hometown crowd. It was a very touching, emotional moment in the midst of wild and crazy violence.
In match the of the night, The Young Buck took on the Hardys. Fans couldn't stay in their seats and the Hardy's actually filled the heel role all match long. Both teams uses every move in their arsenal, including each other's finishers. After the mind blowing match, you had to hear everything that was said, see who all hit the ring, and watched everything that went down. HoH had to kick us all out afterwards because no one wanted to leave!
