Sequels The X-Men/Fantastic 4 Crossover Official Thread

FF bombing doesn't mean it would go to disney.Inless deal Is reached it will be in limbo till 2022.

Of course this assumes the reboot is terrable and bombs which we have no evidance of.

The possibilty of using OT actors makes me like this idea better than before.

You mis-spelled Fantastic.

To answer your question If it does bomb Fox has them for the next seven years whether it's a success or a failure.

So wanting it to flop for that result is moronic since they are not mutually exclusive

Opinions are opinions & not everyone will share the same one so agree 2 disagree

IMO, X men/F4 crossover isn't different than :

If you could write a story with X men and Guardian, you can do that with F4. Yes, bad movie can hurt the franchise but Fox should have FAITH and take risk.
Good writer can write a good story and if Fox want to be ambitious, it is great .

Celestials or Shiar empire with X men and F4, i say YES !

It's a shame that type of stuff won't be happening in the comics anymore with those two groups. fox just has 2 ruin things for everyone

Rumor Is after avengers 3 there will be avengers 4 or crossover film with both avengers and GOTG characters so under right sceniro a X-Men and FF crossover could work.

But,time will tell if it becomes reality or not.

Your blaming Fox for marvel being ***** when it comes to Xmen and FF In comics:whatever:

It is different because the film versions of the X-Men have always belonged in their own world. Not the case with comic X-Men. Nor do I think people are aching to see that Bendis GOTG/ All New X-Men Storyline adapted to the screen.

Shyeah because Fox is in control of the comics

I am pretty sure MARVEL / Disney owns Celestials since we saw one in Guardians

But it could change with Apocalypse if his origin is like the comic with the alien tech. X men franchise can go in the cosmic world next and you have also Jean with the Phoenix (Shiar' empire).
In fact, DOFP change everything and the possibilities are unlimited.
Singer is big sci-fi ( Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica) so who knows ...

that Guardians/XMen felt so random when I saw the announcement. But I understand that since Marvel comics are all on the same universe, plenty of people know each other, so its not that surprising.

So yeah, as another user said, XMen/F4 doesnt make less sense than that, and even if we take into account that XMen meet F4 since the 60s, so....

Oh I'm all for a cosmic X-Men world.:up: That's really the only benefit I possibly see here. Not disagreeing there at all. I know that can be introduced without the F4 though.

What I really find odd is I remember not too long ago a few posters who were saying they did not want the weird alien cosmic stuff, a few others that said every super powered type character in the X-Men film verse should be a mutant and others who constantly disagreed with the X-Men ever crossing over to Marvel because they don't fit in a world with other superheros and should be left to themselves.

Opinions seemed to change all of a sudden...

Ahh i can't speak for others but, i have no problem with X men in cosmic world :woot: .
Between Corsair, Phoenix, Shiar, Apocalypse and the Celestial, this world is important for X men.
For me, Apocalypse is already sci-fi vilain .
But i admit, i am not fan of others magical stuff .

I'm a big fan of Magik. But otherwise Agreed:up:

100% on board with the XMen connecting to the cosmic world. It would be mindblowing, Im all for it. Enough of the 'grounded-realistic-boring' approach, now give me epicness! :D

Grounded-realistic was great for the beginning and i like to see the franchise evolves over time. It was the good approach to present the X men. In a way, we can say the franchise evolves with his vilains (Magneto, Stryker, Phoenix, Sentinels, Apocalypse ...)

yeah, dont get me wrong, I loved X1 and its one of my faves just because of its tone and how the world was presented. But the industry has changed and the movies have gotten huge and more creative, so Id love to see the XMen world getting more creative and free too

I wanna see Cable come from the future and meet his younger-than-him father.

thats a great concept, for sure, Ive always wanted to see that with Marsden, but now the age difference wont be as big, so that interesting point wouldnt have impact.
I still want to see Cable on present time, tho, coming from the future. but not on this sequel

At this point, no one knows if the Fantastic Four reboot is gonna suck or bomb. If it sucks and it bombs, of course Fox wouldn't let a cross-over with X-Men to happen. But until that doesn't happen, Fox should keep their options open and the fact that Simon Kinberg is playing with the idea shows that they probably want it to happen, which also shows their confidence to the Fantastic Four. This is also the only chance for the Fantastic Four to have a real cross-over especially if the film rights don't revert to Marvel Studios for like the next 7 years. X-Men already had their crossover film and they could have more in the future by making films for splinter teams like X-Force or X-Factor or do another time-travel film but Fantastic Four? This is their only shot for a cross-over and if this cross-over turns out to be a success, Fantastic Four would benefit a lot from it, probably more than the X-Men (which is already a big franchise).

And this is Fox we are talking about, since when they ever had a box-office bomb in the last 5 years? Out of all the big 6 studios out there, its like the 1 studio that is very modest when it comes to the budget of their films. I can't think of any bomb they had in the last 5 years, maybe there were some disappointments but like John-Carter level of bomb or 47 Ronin level of bomb, I don't think so.

And also the question of how the cross-over is gonna work... well they don't have to exist in the same universe. Rumour has it that Fantastic Four will feature the Negative Zone in the reboot. So there will be alternate universes in the Fantastic Four film universe. If Fantastic Four could go to another dimension or universe, why not transport them to a universe where mutants exist. The comic-books do this alternate universe stuff all the time. Anyway 2 worlds colliding would be nice to see, like I just wanna see how X-Men are gonna react to a world where are no mutants and there's a superhero team like the Fantastic Four who are being treated as superstars by the public.

Be awesome if they crossover in Deadpool. And he annoys, fights or kills all of them (except for maybe Sue Storm) for being in the wrong movie. Alot of funny possibilities there actually, even if it's just one of Wades crazy day dreams.

That funny possibility probably won't happen.

Anyway, I can't blame Fox for even considering this especially with all the cross-overs happening right now. And Fantastic Four/X-Men had cross-overs in the comics, bad or good.

The X-Men crossed over with everybody at some point. Doesn't mean they should adapt all those to screen.

Why can't they show up in Deadpool? The guy staples
Hugh Jackmens cut out face from a magazine to his own, mocks Origins, makes crude jokes about Prof X and gets his ass beat by Colossus in the script.
Even if they weren't serious about crossing over characters, Deadpool is the easiest way to go for cameos because of the randomness, budget and 4th wall breaking. There's no rules and he trolls other Marvel characters. It's what he does, the script doesn't shy away from that stuff.

problem is if the fantastic 4 universe doesn't have mutants, which is sounds like it won't right now, unless they make an effort of hiding the fact they exist then suddenly in the cross over say.. oh btw mutants exist too then its gonna be difficult to do

unless they do some weird universe jump where the fantastic 4 are sent to a different universe but i personally don't think the fantastic 4 is being made with one eye open on a cross over

if mutants exist what makes these 4 fantastic
