Not sure how many watched the MTV movie awards, but the first category of the night was Best Hero. The cast of Superman Returns, including Brandon Routh and Kevin Spacey, presented the award. As many of you know, since the results were released early, Christian Bale won the award for his portrayal of Batman in Batman Begins. His acceptance speech was very long, surprising. Since Bale likes to keep out of the spotlight as much as he can. When his name was said, he leaned over to kiss his wife and stood up. He went up and shook hands with Superman. OMG!!! So cool! He began his speech. He said,

"I would like to thank Chris Nolan, for giving the Dark Knight back his dignity, and I'm glad that we got the nipples off of the bat suit. I'd also like to thank Bob Kane for creating this bad ass hero in 1939. And Superman, we have to admit that Batman is the bad ass," Routh nods, "Thank you very much for the award, and there will be more." He walks off stage.

Again, the thing wasn't word for word, he said a lot more, but just the fact that Bale said THERE WILL BE MORE. WOW! He seems like a reserved guy, doesn't want to bring too much heat down. So, very cool. For the folks who want to see it, catch it when the awards are next on, its the first award so you don't have to watch it for long, lol.

WOW.

Does this mean there will be sequels??? WOW

OMG

There's another thread for this!!!

WOW

we know there are going to be at least 2 sequels . . . he's already signed

Now . . . if he mentioned that there would be more after that, that would be something exciting . . .

For non-fans out of the know, it's exciting, for us, it's like telling an art historian The Da Vinci Code is fictional.

Nothing new but it's great to see they're so committed to this franchise and love what they're doing.

^yeah Bale Danggit.........I don't swear.

I thought Bale had a Welsh accent. Or has he always had a London accent?

Awesome, now the general public knows a new Batman films i coming. A lot of people still think Begins was a prequel, so perhaps the news of a sequel to it will make them rethink that.

Yeah, I saw it. That was definitely a sweet moment when Bale turns to Routh saying Batman is badass. I love his dedication and rattling off the facts of when Batman came on the scene. I'm almost certain none of the Batmans before knew about that Bob Kane trivia. Bale is certainly the man.

Saw the video in the SR thread. This sounds like music to my ears.

Considering all of the other Batmen actually met with Bob Kane, you're probably really mistaken.

Haha CConn, I was about to post same thing.

In fact, in the speacial features on the new Batman 89 disc 2, there is a shot of Bob Kane drawing a picture of Batman while Keaton stood no more than 5 feet away!

p.s.
England huh two-face? Well good luck beating my boys from Brazil if they are to meet again!

I look at it this way. The fact that he even knew who Wonder Woman is shows that he 1. Reads comics. 2. Knows more than the previous idiots who put on the cape and cowl.
So, that's good for us fanboys, folks.

Oh, and he taught us all a very important lesson. If you want sex from your wife....compare her to Wonder Woman. </70's Porno Music\>

Because even an 80 year old blind man knows who Wonder Woman is.

1. My 5yo cousin who can't even read knows who Wonder Woman is.

2. As I already said, the other Batmen actually met Bob Kane, not to mention there is absolutely nothing to prove they knew or didn't know any more or less about Batman than Bale does.

3. Stop making things up to make Bale look good. He's good enough.

I'd like to see it...but I see it as them wasting money because they can make a boatload with the movies individually....rather than combine them like has been rumored with the Hulk and FF 4 and movies of the like...

another thing I thought of is spider-man joining another super-hero movie and this would somewhat give them the clearance to re-cast spiderman as apparently Tobey Maguire isn't fond of doing spiderman anymore??..

I guess he hasn't seen seabiscuit....he should stick to spiderman...
